You Know You're a Sanderfan When...
Aether replied to Shardbearer's topic in General Brandon Discussion
You forgot Seer, Augur, Oracle, Slider, Pulser, Leecher, Nicroburst, Aluminum Gnat and Duralumin Gnat (!). -
I think it is quite clear that the crem is at least partly sediments picked up by the winds. I do believe that it might be "spiked" or something with the body of Cultivation, but we do not currently have much good evidence to support such a hypothesis.

I meant how you react to him. Boys might be overly fond of their toys, but girls squee too, and usually louder.

I do think the "three powers" hypothesis is rather arbitrary, as there are clearly more powers that does not fall within the range of any of the Surges: Rapid healing Protection from high falls Booming voice, ect. Naturally enhances strength, reflexes, speed and stamina There is evidence that suggests that Windrunners have a "Force Push/Wave" kind of ability Now, some of these might be inherent to Surgebinding itself and are not a result of either of the surges, but it does seem like a rather weak claim. The "three lashes" - one effect for each surge and one resulting from the combination of the surges - also seems rather misleading, as there is at least one particular set of powers where this is not the case, such as the Windrunners having two abilities solely based upon the Gravity surge and one upon the Pressure surge. Now, if Stormriding is a Windrunner only ability, we might have found something that might quite possibly be of both surges (Gravity to fly within the Storms and Pressure to keep from being thrown around by the hurricane-level winds), but then we're up to four lashings, and the hypothesis falls apart anyway.

Regarding Eshonai's Reading and the Honorblades

Maybe the Blades have been picked up by some of the Shattered Plain's native inhabitants and are now bound to Chasmfiends?- 6 replies

Great catch, though it has been made before. Great minds think alike, I suppose

Also, they've been given their freedom, so whether or not they'll loose Dalinar's protection, turning them back into slaves without a proper reason could prove difficult.

I'd like to see a Nightblood-class weapon with the command: "be awesome!"

game Three Word Story Part 3: Doors Never Die
Aether replied to KChan's topic in Forum Games & Random Stuff
One time, when a Mistborn was going to a Dragonwasp Legion meeting, he saw a grey Shardbearer in a dark alley, brutally slitting open a gigantic watermelon with a rusty Sliver of Honor. So, of course, the Mistborn burned the watermelon, lighting the Shardbearer's cape on fire, blue flames concealing it from his view. The Shardbearer turns into a duck, ripping open the cosmere, and seeing a locked door emitting dark shine and Stormlight. The Shardbearer ran to get his Blade, tripping over duck beaks that littered the ground, breaking his neck. The Mistborn howled at a monkey's attacks on his Mistcloak. Thrashing and struggling, he broke free, hitting the door with a llama and a koloss head, breaking it into splintery bits. The door floated down the river and ended in a black shardpool. Meanwhile, the Shardbearer thrashed on the floor and died. A shadowy figure hopped out of the Cognitive Realm and into the river. The Shadowy figure glowed with dark light and quietly said, "Where is Hoid?" The Mistborn answered, "Where isn't he?" At the same time, the Cognitive Realm was torn asunder by a massive Voidbringer. It killed many sprens that tried to intervene. His metals spent, and his Stormlight stolen by a small green larkin, the shadowy figure, named "DARKNESS" the Evil Librarian, began building an altar out of cheese! This brilliant choice made many Epics weep with tears From the smell of their weakness. Ookla the Mok rebuilt the door with the most evil thing possible in the Cosmere. The opposing force was a rhino cross-bred with Hoid an 16 different aspects of Odium as well as 14 of Ruin. Unfortunately, a Shade flew in right in the middle of the giant altar, crushing the brilliant and wet kandra cheese container which exploded, spraying lemonade all over his tattered remains - hitting the large hippopotamus that was really just begging to become a Knight Radiant that bonds with Deathspren - and kills a poor, innocent chull. He [the Shade] launched it into the sky, where it grew three heads without even considering that even considering that- 990 replies

I don't know if we can call this "a discovery" though, as Wyndle is simply talking at a completely uninterested Lift.

Reviving a dead topic: Szeth's Shardblade is an Honourblade
Aether replied to Aether's topic in Stormlight Archive
Sorry to call you out on it, but my OP on this Thread mentions exactly that quote, which was what made me join the "Szeth's Shardblade = Jezrien's Honourblade" camp. Good catch though! And it is indeed assumed that it is Nalan and another Herald (likely Kalak) conversing in that scene.- 128 replies

Nice try, Darnam. Though if it just so happen - against all odds - to be true what you said, good for you, Brother!

I propose that vegetables are really but a subset of fruit! How shall we EVAH come to an agreement on this?
-
Those aren't canon as being either one, just an artists depiction of them. One of them even has Steam-punk goggles, even though they don't exist in the book, nor is it really Steam-punk at all.

Only if the Tranquiline Halls are really just the Cognitive Realm. Or I dunno, there are several theories as to what the Halls really are. Some think it might be one of the other habitable planets in the same system as Roshar (id est "the Greater Roshar system), such as Ashyn. Spren are native to Roshar though. They might not need to have come from anywhere else.
-
Up-vote for pure awesomeness! Also, it is important to note that Roshar only really has one continent. Whether a fabrial will work on the opposite side of the planet is a hypothetical question only.
