  1. I do not think the Orders really need to be in full agreement with each other. Remember that they date from the time of the ten Silver Kingdoms, where there nations had different specialities of governing that overlapped. They presumably would not agree on everything, but would find a way to live in harmony. The Knights Radiant seem to embody (or represent) the different Ideals of these Kingdoms (and honour and warfare in general) and would presumably be ten more or less autonomous - but cooperative - groups.
  2. You might be right about WB and tWoK, but I find it hard to believe that they happen roughly around the same time as AoL too, even if the Coppermind place it there. Dumaux is alive and well in tWoK, and while I do know that there are ways for Worldhoppers to extend their life, should we really assume that the members 17th Shard know how to do it? Is Dumaux over 300 years when he appears at the Purelake?
  3. Welcome to the 17th Shard! If you haven't read any of the Cosmere books yet, I recommend starting with the Way of Kings or Mistborn: the Final Empire. The former is by far his best book; the latter still really good, but does not have the ridiculously high learning curve. A bit "lighter", if I may.
  4. Shard of love - your magic can only affect those you care about. Only way to actually combat with it is to "love thine enemy".
  5. He might still hold on to his identity, but his nature might change. For lo and behold! I call upon the Word! *Urk* My powers of google fail me yet again. The quote I am referring to is the one about Rock's Spren-sight and how collective beliefs might do "funky things" or something.
  6. But what IS truth, but a lie agreed upon!
  7. "And if it 'twere true, 'twould be 'twerrific!"
  8. It is a PARADOX, there IS no answer! Look, this place is going to blow up if I don't get into my body! . EDIT: ... wait, what now?
  9. Can you really call him a singular entity any longer, though? His demi-godlike status has become a cultural abstraction.
  10. Shame on you. You made me spit out my tea!
  11. Thank you for making the best of my horrible joke! You have my up-vote thanks!
  12. Oh, don't be like that. Do I need to invoke Wayne?
  13. Don't be afraid of posting whatever random thought you might get. Even the wildest idea could lead to some nice theorycrafting. And you shouldn't have to reread an entire book (unless you want to) just to research any passing though, we - as a community - are always there to help! That is what we are supposed to be here for, anyway.
  14. Dude, relax. You are not the only one who couldn't find that one. Just follow my fellow Sharders' advice and take a look around the Coppermind wikia. Other than that, welcome to the 17th Shard, and good luck with the rest!
  15. OMG! QUICKLY NOW, GET BEHIND ME! Oh, Kurk, my friend? Listen closely: "This sentence is a lie". Phew! Close one!
  16. Presumably certain Nahel Spren's governing entity. What I want to know is who is on it, which type of Spren does it govern, and does its mandate permit it to enforce its decisions? I so wanna see "Cops - Spren edition" ! - EDIT: Really stupid joke...
  17. I was not aware of this. I suppose it does make sense realmatically as well, though we might have to summon "the Avatar of Forms 'n' Stuff, Kurkistan the Great Catquisitor" to be absolutely sure. *prepares the occult relics and what-not* "I summon Thee, Great Unholiness. May Thy most infernal Holy Dictate be swift and concise, for mere mortals cannot withstand the raw power of Thy word!" *scurries away and hides in a corner* EDIT: OK, I confess, 'twas but a PM.
  18. You'll find the other illustrations in the links provided hereunder, but no, I haven't been able to find any of signature in any of them: Skyeels Chulls Rockbuds
  19. Or, maybe the first Ideal is really the last ideal (!), and it only grants power-ups when you finally embrace the true essence of the Immortal Words after first having adopted the First through Fourth Ideal. Think about it. "Life before death. Strength before weakness. Journey before destination!" KA-BLOOOOSH!!!!! And the Knight Radiant in question has a Shardplate, -spear and -spear or dual-wielding Blades or whatever. Sure. Syl and Kaladin say as much too, but in the end I believe Intent trumps all.
  20. Possibly no one. It was a shout out for anyone who might go, but no one really said they were going
  21. What he said. . It could also be that it would have left Ruin completely without opposition and thereby able to destroy the world even faster. . Kelsier does make me wonder though: how is he able to stick around (in the Cognitive Realm)? Can others do the same? If so, why don't they; or maybe they do?
  22. It is too small to make out what it is. Would you care to elaborate?
  23. ... When you gather a crew of specialists and raise an army in order to overtake and overthrow your government. Boy, don't you just hate it when that happens!
