I remember having read that quote as well. The Chasmfiend was fully grown and past the pupating stage.

It wouldn't hurt, but he did seem rather bookish - though less so than Elend. I just wouldn't be surprised to see him with a bit of a tummy. But thoughts on Cumberbatch as TLR rather than Marsh, please!

You Know You're a Sanderfan When...

Dude, I was kidding about Pattinson. Also, I forgot that TLR was supposed to be old. I've changed my mind. Cumberbatch as TLR! Also, is Dockson supposed to be fit?

I hadn't even considered David Tennant as Kelsier. But now that you mention it, I do not think it would be a terrible idea. He is sociopathic enough at times in his portrayal of Doctor Who to pull it off. He certainly is charming enough. Robert Downing Jr. has good range, but he would be way to dominant. . Interesting... I think he could pull it off, but I'm afraid he'd have trouble being sympathetic enough. Sazed is rather subtle and intense, as you said, but he was above all good-hearted and caring. I've yet to see Alan Rickman portray that. . . So, my time then: Kelsier: I'm not opposed to David Tennant, but I think someone like Robert Pattinson would be better. KIDDING! Please don't kill me... Marhs: Someone suggested Benedict Cumberbatch. He'd be great as Kelsier's bitter brother. And honesly, I kind of just want to see him with spikes through his eyes Ham: I had Nathon Fillion cast right from the beginning. TLR: I think Alan Rickman would be best suited for this role. Spook: I'd picture a younger Thomas Sangster Dockson: Someone suggested Brendan Gleeson as Clubs. I think he'd work better as Dox. Elend: Robert Pattinson. OK, I'll stop now. Don't really know, honestly. Breeze: A fat Nathon Fillion could work.Breeze: If only Brian Cox were a bit younger. Vin: I have no clue. I never got a clear impression of how she'd look from the books. Someone small, though. Shan: I'd absolutely love to see Emma Watson's take on her. I want to see her play a spiteful character, and not just those heart-warming roles I've seen her lately. I have no good suggestions for neither Sazed, Yeden nor Breeze. EDIT: Nicholas Cage as Camon. 'Twould be awesome.

My main problem with Teft's supposed heraldry is that he seems to lack crucial and essential information about the KRs even in his own PoVs.

You've got me curious, though. Do share!

Why, thank you, Natans=) You're probably right. I can't really speak for Bloodfalcon, but I assume Wyndle got thrown in with the honourspren just to fill the categories in order to illustrate his point. I think it more likely to put Wyndle in the cryptics category by his nomenclature. That might be part of it, but I think it might mainly have to do with their mixture of the two Shards being more of Honour than Cultivation - assuming that they are divided into such categories in the first place.

Ah, my bad then. I hadn't noticed. I hereby rescind my previous complaints! I don't care much for Firefight (I am most likely going to read it though), but I do know Brandon needs variation between projects. At least he'll get right back to Shadows of Self and then Stones Unhallowed after that. My fear is largely quelled.

Even with Ruin's guidance, it seems a tad lucky. And I do not dispute that a specific location can be the binding point for several powers, but it seems a tad redundant for Allomantic pewter to have points in both the shoulders and in the earlobes. But I shan't force the issue until we know more. In the end it just gives me one more reason to get exited for Shadows of Self. Now, if we only could make him forget about the Reckoners series and focus on Cosmere books...
-
Congratz! And do share when you are able to decode it. What did you ask for/about, if I may ask?
-
The ears might each present binding points for different powers, but I find it inconsistent that Allomantic Pewter in particular, which apparently is in the shoulders, should also have one in one of the ears. But then again, Spooks Pewter spike seemed rather lucky to hit the exactly right binding point when he was just randomly stabbed, so it wouldn't be too much of a stretch to assume that there might be others. It is just slightly annoying that he wouldn't elaborate when it is seemingly quite contradictory with what we do know.

The Coppermind might not be the most accurate source, but it does seem to coincide with what I remember from the books: His earring seems likely to be of Steel Inquisitor spike, but according to the chart, it would have had to be placed in his shoulder to give him the proposed effect, I also find it unlikely that there are several binding points for each stolen ability: All-in-all, it just seem to directly contradict what we know from the books, whatever his RAFO might suggest.

Personally, I believe Teft is the Almighty, and not just a lowly Herald.

Yeah, Brandon can be kind of a douche. (EDIT: Woah! 'Twas a joke! I really doubt Brandon worded himself just to spite us in this particular discussion. What is the down-vote for?) Also, is it just me, or have we just completely hijacked this Thread with a silly confusion over a rather specific part of Spren naming standards? ^^
-
I think you might be ever so slightly missing the joke xD Also, remember that we have no confirmation about Endowment's gender. We might very well be talking about a well Endowed male here.

I am sorry to necro this Thread, but if Wax's ear-ring gives him Allomantic powers, then would it let him burn Bronze and not Pewter? From what I remember, the binding points were very specific to what power you would receive, and the ear is for Seeking abilities (as Vin got from hers), not Thug.

Up-vote for really embracing the spirit of redundancy!

We are in agreement then. I thought you were saying that Cryptics of the Lightweaver variant could, for the lack of better evidence, just as well end up also granting Windrunner-type bonds. . The only disagreement we have seem to be in the nomenclature. While WoB state that there are different definitions of what it means to be an honourspren, I'm just going to refer to Syl-type Spren as Honourspren (with capital "H") until a better and more specific term is given. As such, Syl and maybe Wyndle could both be honourspren, but only Syl is an Honourspren. Much in the same way that the word "church" might refer to any number of things, but the word "Church" only refers to the governing body of a specific faith. . I do, on the other hand, argue that it is too soon to name the "umbrella categories". They might end up being "honourspren" and "cryptic", but until we know for sure, I suggest that it might be more orderly and less confusing to only refer to the distinct types of Nahel Spren, unless specifically discussing the proposed categorisations. . EDIT: Up-vote for naming Jasnah's Spren "Snootyspren". . EDIT 2: The WoB I was referring to:

I'm not sure you could do that with Awakening. The system makes inanimate objects mimic the abilities of living (human) beings. An awakened ball would have no good mechanism - while in the air - for changing speed or direction. You could probably make it roll, which would make it able to move while on the floor, but in the air, this would likely only make it able to slightly "nudge" it in any direction.
