Um, how is this supposed to work again?

I can seem to hop much with it. Could I possibly have a defunct one?

I am calling the supervisor. And my lawyer!

  2. Assuming the artists explanation is correct, it does seem like one to two hours is a bit too short to digest the food and extract/synthesize the lighter-than-air gases, so I'd assume that the eel can store nutrients from which it can extract/synthesize the gases at a later time.
  3. Someone should try to set a Skyeel aflame. Hilarities would ensue.
  4. Ok, my turn: Not really that good. Let's try again:
  5. I am merely saying that there is a suggested explanation with would cover the basic mechanics, not that it is canon.
  6. [Out of game] Up-vote for language![/Out of game]

    Atium Alloys

I suggest labelling Atium and all its alloys as external and Lerasium and all its alloys internal. Or something. Also, WoB have hinted at the existence of a Harmony related metal. I believe "Harmonium" might f**k this up.
  8. I vote for crem. Excellent suggestion!
  9. Up-vote Kudos to you for thinking of the concept in the first place =). How awesome would it be if there were Stormborns!
  10. I am pretty sure Brandon has RAFOed this, but there are some hints to this in the Way of Kings. I'll see if I can find them when I get home later today. On a completely unrelated note, does anyone know where the Gavilar character went? He completely disappeared after the Prologue!
  11. Actually, the artist explains it: It will take just about a few hours to fill them up after having deflated them:
  12. Amazon has a price reduction guarantee, maybe B&N has the same?
  13. I was not saying that there isn't a magical side to it, but that the Spren itself might not be part of it. Though I do remember now that we do have a WoB on Spren interacting with living beings outside of Nahel and Parshendi bonds, as it is through the combination of low gravity and their bond to a certain type of Spren that Greatshells are allowed to grow so big. Though, in the case of Skyeels, I do not think magic is needed, According to the artist, the combination of wing-like ins, low Rosharan gravity, light-weight skeleton and lighter-than-air gas sacks might combined be able to make it fly without additional magical help.
  14. Also, wouldn't "Stormborn" be an ever so slightly more awesomer name?
  15. We don't really know if the Spren helps it to fly, though - it is only thought to somehow influence its flying mechanism. The nature of Spren is very badly understood by contemporary Rosharans, and Luckspren might very well turn out to have nothing to do with it at all. Does Rotspren cause rot? Does Flamespren cause flames? Or are they only attracted to the processes they are associated with?
  16. I agree that Kaladin's design is better in the second version, but I think you will have to concede that there are some problems with the position of his head and leg. Other than that, I'd prefer him looking down or towards Szeth, but I don't really care either way. The head-band was sort of cool though. I wouldn't hate it if Wheland brought it back for version 3.0
  17. Yes please! And add Chromium/Nicrosil Mistings as well, as which of the C/N and C/B pairs would potentially have been left out is not a 100% certain. We are rather sure that the Mists only Snapped 16 types of Mistings, but I myself believe that there should have been Mistings for the undiscovered Allomantic metals who Snapped independently.
  18. I thought the first few chapters were the strong ones. I liked the prologue and how it got tied into the actual story.
  19. The quote expressly says "looked like", which does not necessarily mean that something did smash into it. Also, "something" is not necessarily the same as Urithiru (EDIT: You already mentioned that. Sorry for reiterating the point). And here's the other relevant quote you mentioned:
  20. Sorry, but I absolutely hate the British cover. Whoever it is on the cover, he looks a bit stupid. EDIT: @Feather. Um, I think you're confusing Teft and Tien. I can only see Tien once... EDIT 2: Oh, multiple slashes. Nevermind, Feather.
  21. I never intended to dispute the existence of Seers. The "not" from my "I do not dispute" probably disappeared in some of my cpoy-pasting or something. As to the our real point of contentions, I think Darnam has a real good and eloquent explanation. I wished I could have expressed my thoughts on this as just as clearly. Right on! I am getting increasingly suspicious that Kurk is an actual Keeper, or at least an Archivist. He must have Copperminds to keep track of his unbelievably huge amount of quotes and references. Kurk, how the h**l are you able to remember even individual posts he's made!
  22. It is hinted at that Jasnah has been mistreated by a man in the past. After Shallan's philosophical lesson, she speaks quite harshly of "men like those". and Shallan notices an edge to her that she'd previously not seen. As to Elokhar, I think I remember reading that his father was assassinated or something. Maybe that could be enough?
  23. WoB state that there will be natural consequences of drastically reducing the Chasm-fiend population. If your assumptions that Gemhearts are the condensed body of Honour, then presumably there might be a built up pressure in the Spiritual and Cognitive realms, which could potentially break through in much the same way that the Chasm is thought to have been created on Sel.
  24. Fun fact: The original draft of the Way of Kings did actually include someone dual wielding Shardblades. Brandon has seemed to hint at the appearance of this in later books. The Blades would have to be summoned separately, by the way. 20 heartbeats.
  25. What he said. I should add, though, that we have WoB (=Word of Brandon) that Roshar is tectonically stable. Also, it have been suggested that Urithiru might be located somewhere unreachable through normal means, such as high up on a mountain, on an unknown/lost island west of the Rosharan super-continent or something else. Someone has also suggested that Urithiru could have been a floating/flying city. Others has taken this even further by suggesting that the Plains was shattered because the flying city of Urithiru smashed down on it. EDIT: And by Neptune's beard, Moogle, up-vote for one of the best posts I've seen on this forum. Also, a great and heartfelt welcome to you, Rade! Up-vote for (one of?) your first post(s)!
