  1. We do not know if they get the exact same visions, but there are others who have gotten them. Some people also suggest that the Hierocracy might actually have been inspired by the vision, but I myself believe them to be a later appearance, along with Death Chants and the reappearance of Surgebinding, etc.. And while it does seem to good not to be true, I do not think Dalinar was the one who inspired Nohadon. Dalinar has recently read (well, listened to) the Way of Kings a lot, and it is only natural that he would mention it when he started suspecting he was speaking to Nohadon. EDIT: @dyring: You are thinking about the Sunmaker.
  2. All we know is that Honourblades disappear when the Herald it is linked to dies. It would be reasonable to assume that it might behave like a normal Shardblade when a non-Herald dies.
  3. It would have to be a very small planet, then. I didn't have the feeling that Arelon was very big. Anyway, I suspect we will have to wait for more information before we can know for sure.
  4. Spoilers for WoR incoming:
  5. I would expect so, yes.Susebron could do it, and he's certainly grown fond of doing slightly naughty stuff.
  6. Sell. Blunt is from Taldain, the world of Brandon's unpublished White Sand (and by the way the home of Bavadin's shard). He has next to nothing to do with Nalthis and the Warbreaker-series: Shallan will summon and use her Shardblade in the Words of Radiance.
  7. Buy. Quite possibly, he won't even know she is the Shardbearer from the Tower fight unless she tells him so, but it does sound like Dalinar to feel guilty for something like that. Elhokar will finally man up and actually communicate with his Spren in WoR.
  8. I was sold on Cumberbatch when I imagined him doing the scene where he *** spoilers *** kills Kelsier *** spoilers ***. Just visualize him speaking his last words of that scene somewhat with the mannerisms he used as Khan in Star Trek Into Darkness: "Let the slaughter begin." *shivers* I hadn't thought of Summer Glau as Vin. She's a bit too old now, but she would definitely capture the paranoia and forlornness of Vin. Thumbs up for that one!
  9. I too, am a fan of this theory. I am merely pointing out that I find it unlikely that the Black Sphere is an orb from the Cognitive Realm. You are right, we are at the very beginning of the series and lack sufficient evidence to believe most things certain, but it is still possible to talk about what is more or less likely: The Black Sphere does not match the description of a "Cognitive Orb". Current information suggests that it is extremely difficult to transit things betwixt the Realms (at least to get things of the Cognitive Realm into the Physical one - see Lift Interlude). Considering what we know of fabrial, it seems more likely that the Sphere contains some sort of Spren, likely a corrupted one (WoR spoiler inc.) I might be wrong about the Sphere not being of the Cognitive Realm, but I think it likely that I am not.
  10. It might very well be a kind of precursor. But from its name and from the way Honour talks about it, I do think there is more to Stormriding.
  11. And dude, divide your text up! That block of text looks rather threatening, and it is difficult to get through.
  12. I do not get why so many assume that the Thrill is exclusive to the Alethi. Almost all of the people who have been described to have it have been Alethi sure, but that is mostly because almost all of the people who have had PoVs and who been in a situation that would induce the Thrill have been Alethi as well. That said, read the Prologue again. Szeth gets a feeling that is eerily similar to how the Thrill is described later in the book. He doesn't call it the Thrill, but it is possible he just doesn't have a name for it.
  13. I do not think it is beyond reasonable to assume that Stormlight could work. I am not sure if he would be able to kill someone other than Nalthians from draining them out.
  14. It is important to remember that the seasons of Roshar are highly unpredictable and do not follow the same pattern as ours. There are several mentions of winter throughout the book, and though I am not sure if they have spoken about snow specifically, I do not think there is any indication to assume that there wouldn't be any even in Alethkar.
  15. It should also be noted that all of the magic systems on Sel should be able to grant access to the Cognitive Realm, either through a shared method accessible by all of the different systems, or by a different one tailored to each of them. It is also quite possible that the key to the Cognitive Realm is separate from any formal magical system, since (spoiler about Blunt's identity coming up)
  16. I have the distinct feeling that Stormriding might be something else than the out-of-body experience Kaladin had. The word "riding" seems to implicate something physical, not cognitive - though I realise this is not much to go on.
  17. 43. I should note, that we do not really know how he blackmails him, though. Lamaril has something on Gaz, but we do not know what.
  18. As far as I am aware, those do not give of Black Light, nor do I think it is even possible to bring them back into the Physical Realm as an orb.
  19. It should also be said that when most of us talk about a "Shardspear" on this forum, what we are really talking about is a "Shardglaive" or something to that effect. This would give the Shard the cutting ability you felt it lacked, while retaining the precision and longer reach of what Kaladin is used to fight with.
  20. I don't think Brandon would recycle ideas like that. I think it more likely that they are only part of the picture.
  21. I should say that there is a theory going around that there are to separate versions of "the Thrill" in the books. One we believe originate from Odium, and one that just might be of Honour we decided on calling "the Drive".
  22. I love this idea, but I think that no, we do not really have a good basis for assuming this.
  23. 29. Our current information (mostly what we get from Jasnah) seems to suggest that they are. There are some on this forum, however, who suspect that this may not be correct, or at the very least only part of the answer. The Parshendi might very well have been corrupted by Odium (or some other unknown force) at some point in history, but they probably only made up a small part of the forces that collectively made up "the Voidbringers. Thunderclasts, for example, seems to have nothing to do with the Parshendi at all, other than being at the same side as Odium. 30. Gavilar seems to have suspected that they did, but they only showed them openly after the hostilities started. 31. It seems like they haven't been outside of some great forests around New Natan - and later the Shattered Plains. Eshonai in particular is curious of the rest of the world and its inhabitants.
