That's my girl . She still hasn't earned a place on the ATTD list though, so she might have to step up her game.

"Dr. Skinsaver, there's a Roger, from accounting, on the line for you. He was wondering about authorization for some expenditures?" Skinsaver cursed, looking up from the chart he was studying. Apparently, Rainmaker had spread word of his appointment quickly, for he hadn't found a moment of peace since returning to the Hospital. Trying to contain his anger, he spun to face the nurse he had charged with manning his mobile. "Tell Roger he is supposed to be reporting to his normal superior, and that whoever that is has free reign to make their own sparking decisions." "But Dr. . . ." "No 'buts'! I think I've made myself perfectly clear, Brian. These people need to understand that my job is just to fill in for Euphoria by coordinating between departments. I don't have time to give my authorization every time some pencil pusher needs to buy a new eraser!" Brian paused, obviously at a loss for what to say. Skinsaver resisted the urge to strap him to an empty bed and use him for a mass healing. As a rule, Skinsaver liked to avoid overly abusing his nursing staff without cause, but today his earlier avoidance was beginning to seem painfully restrictive. "Fine, Brian. Spit it out. What is so terribly confusing for your insignificant brain to figure out?" "I'm sorry Dr. Skinsaver, it's just, Roger was wondering about hospital expenditures? He's just calling to check we aren't short on any supplies before drawing up a new budget." Wordlessly, Skinsaver held out his hand to take the mobile, waving Brian away. "Hello, Roger. We're actually short on..." SKINSAVER! I HAVE COME! PREPARE YOURSELF TO SERVE AT MY PLEASURE! "Roger, I'm going to have to call you back." Skinsaver hung up the phone without waiting for a response. There was no point in running; he knew from experience that his newest guest would find him wherever he tried to hide. A few minutes later, Ethereaon glided into one of the hospitals' private examination rooms. The impossibly handsome epic wore an extravagant crimson cloak draped stylishly around his shoulders, and rings glittered on his perfectly manicured fingers. As much as Skinsaver hated the man, levitation and being able to project words into others minds were two of Ethereaon's less useful powers. On top of his general value, the epic had done an excellent job of acquiring friends and allies among the elite of Corvallis. With all of the current chaos, Rainmaker would not be pleased if Skinsaver alienated someone with Ethereaon's level of political influence. "Is everything prepared, Doctor? You know I would have called ahead, but it is so hard to find the time for such things these days." Ethereaon floated over to a comfortable chair, landed, and sat down, crossing one leg over the other. "I assure you, it shouldn't take more than a few minutes, and it is a matter of grave importance." "A nurse is on her way with a host. What seems to be the matter?" "A few things." Ethereaon removed a pair of designer sunglasses and began to rhythmically tap his stylish shoes against the tiled floor. "First of all, I have an excruciating headache. It's been bothering me all morning. Slaughterine is worse off, of course, but she's quite the lush. Also, the rest that goes along with a night of fun and frolic - slight nausea, sore throat, general aches and pains, you know the drill. Also, you can target ailments that only might be there, right?" Skinsaver nodded, counting the seconds it was taking the nurse to arrive. "Excellent! Well, Slaughterine and I had a bit of fun with her slaves last night, and I'm not sure how, shall we say, hygienic they are, if you know what I mean. So if you could clean up any inconvenient after effects, that would be appreciated. Oh, and I think there's a pimple coming in on my chin." Skinsaver nodded, not trusting himself to speak without displaying his disgust for men like Ethereaon. The vain epic hadn't been the first to realize he could use Skinsaver's abilities for trivial or cosmetic purposes, but he was certainly one of the ones who did it the most. He was saved by having to stand in silence by the Nurse's arrival. "Patient 2358R, here as requested. Will you need anything else Dr. Skinsaver?" The nurse stepped away from the gurney, revealing an emaciated-looking twelve year old boy. "No, that will be all. This will only take a moment." The boy was sedated; the patients Skinsaver used to heal others tended to make unreasonable noises at the most inconvenient of times, and it wouldn't do to upset an important epic like Ethereaon with such ruckus. Tranferring damage from an epic multiplied its severity. The subtle blemish on Ethereaon's chin could become red and enflamed, the irritating headache would intensify, and the beginnings of any venereal disease Ethereaon had managed to contract in his night of revelry could result in a full outbreak. Skinsaver placed a hand gently on the boy's temple, and then offered his other hand to Ethereaon to take. "Let's get this over with." Ethereaon smiled and took Skinsaver's outstretched hand. Skinsaver closed his eyes for a moment, focusing on the ailments Ethereaon had mentioned, and then performed a general healing to avoid any future complaints. When he had finished transferring everything to the boy, he gave Ethereaon a quick once-over with his x-ray vision, to check for any remaining defects that might have been missed. "All done, you can go." "Thank-you Skinsaver. I don't know what I'd do without you. Without sparing a glance for the child, Ethereaon straightened and lifted off the ground. Skinsaver forced himself to smile as he waved until the door closed behind the Epic. Finally, I can get back to work. "Sir," instead of Brian, it was the nurse who had wheeled the boy in who interrupted his moment of solitude. "Brian stopped by while you were in with Ethereaon. He told me to let you know that Roger from accounting had called again?"

Is there anybody in the whole Sanderverse...
Comatose replied to Alfa's topic in General Brandon Discussion
I also cannot do it myself, but most of the characters I write can and do often, which I blame on Sanderson's influence. It is interesting that "he/she raised her/his eyebrows" is not used as much, especially since many people are incapable of raising a single eyebrow. Probably because raising one eye-brow looks cooler, and more accurately communicates a sense of judgement and mild disapproval, rather than general disbelief or surprise. I'll have to keep a look out for this in my rereads... -
I searched my screen name from the home page, and that seemed to work. Searching from my member profile didn't take me back very far.

Okay, so I thought this would be fun, especially for some of us old cards who have been around for a while. Those of you who, like me, spend more time than they would like to admit watching vlogs on youtube are probably aware of a game where vloggers play their first youtube video, and react to it. Since posts are considerably shorter, I thought viewing our first few posts, rather than just one would be fun. Rules are simple: go back in time as far as you can, and quote the first posts you can find, and then react to them. TWGers can feel free to go back to the archive. So anyways, here's the one's I can find. I actually joined TWG, deleted my account, and then rejoined a year or two later, so it was hard to figure out and find all of my posts, but here's the ones I found: EDIT: Minor Mistborn Spoilers QUOTES: Anyways, now for my reactions. 1. The first post I could find was dated in June of 2007, which means I was 16 and The Well of Ascension was about to be released. I see that I had an atrocious level of typos and mispellings in most of my posts. To be fair, I am still pretty horrible at checking my posts over, but it seems like I am better at self-editing on the fly (I hope). 2. I also remember being VERY worried (like most teenagers) about what people on the site were thinking of me, and you can see that in my interactions, I think. That said, I'm still pretty apologetic and accommodating (blame it on my Canadian-ness), so maybe I haven't changed much in that regard either. 3. I really liked board games. Still true. 4. I vaguely remember the eureka moment of finding that quote about the 'piercings of the hero' . I might be embellishing things, but in my memory it's pretty awesome. A lot of my theorizing happened between books 2 and 3 of Mistborn, so all of the Hero of Ages speculations have a special place in my heart. 5. My failure to properly capitalize and the extra space in 'ten soon' makes me cringe. Then again, I probably still make a lot of errors like that, so I guess I can't complain. And that's all I've got for now. If this sounds like something fun to you (even if you've only been a member for a short time), feel free to jump into the conversation.

Are you saying we should create a "power couple" ? Well, Altertimes/Funtermind is apparently already a thing. Next we could have Corpsentia, Rainwards, Cornu "The Metal"?

Taylor post up! Let me know if anything needs changing.
-
Taylor eyed her reflection in the side view mirror, unable to resist making minute changes to the female officer's rather drab appearance. They were small changes, like adding a healthy shine to her practically tied back hair, and getting rid of a few blemishes and early wrinkles that surely wouldn't be missed by Officer Oliver. It just wasn't fair that a woman of such superior looks should be continually forced to take on the appearance of more mundane women. What was the point of having a famous face and the body of a super model if no one was able to appreciate it. Oliver swore to himself as he took a corner a little to sharply. A little while ago, they had gotten a call to chase down some rogue epics in a school bus. Taylor had done her best to pretend she cared when the call first came in, but resumed her natural state of boredom as soon as Oliver's eyes became focused on the road. No one had complimented her in hours; how did regular people live like this? "Sorry about that, I guess I'm just a little nervous. Do you think Quicksilver will show up?" From what she had gathered, Quicksilver was the leader of a gang of some sort, and the reason for the morning's searches. "Relax, we just have to do our part. The epics will do the heavy lifting." Taylor tried her best to adopt to slightly patronizing tone she had heard the more experienced female officer use back at the house. Something caught her eye in the mirror as she added a subtle touch of colour to her lips and cheeks and added volume to her eyelashes. Frowning, Taylor enhanced her vision to get a better look, only to find several subtle acne scars marring her forehead. Disgusted, Taylor shifted again, leaving her forehead clear and unblemished. She hated acne. Taylor's ministrations were interrupted when Oliver slammed on the breaks. The car had barely stopped when a yellow school bus blew through the intersection at a frightful speed, with what looked like a flying man in hot pursuit. Cursing again, Oliver stepped on the gas, swerving around the corner just in time to join a convey of military vehicles tailing the fleeing bus. "We have instructions to shoot to kill if we can get a clear shot. Just be careful not to hit Deathwish." It took Taylor a moment to realize that Oliver was reminding her of her job during the chase. Apparently there was a reason the woman she replaced chose to ride 'shot gun'. Suppressing a sigh, Taylor rolled down her window, took out the dead woman's gun, and then began searching for an opening. Well, this should be interesting

The Princess laughed delightedly at the compliment, taking a seat and continuing to beautify her surroundings with every movement. "Oh, I suppose you could say that. I just spruce the place up a little, you know? Not that I can do much in this dreadful weather. To tell the truth, I thought one of the reasons we all choose to live in Rainmaker's lovely little city is to avoid... inconveniences like rain." The Princess smiled prettily as she popped another candy in her mouth. "I do hope you don't mind. I fear I may have a bit of a sweet tooth. Now where was I? Ah yes! City sanitation. Rainmaker asked me if I could help out, you see, as a sort of... personal favour I guess, and I just couldn't say 'no'. After all, she's given us such a delightful place to live, I felt it was the least I could do." Another candy, almost unnoticed, vanished into her mouth after being plucked from the bowl. "These really are delicious. It really is a shame though, all this rain. I suppose some punishment is warranted after last night, but really it seems cruel to deprive the poor things of their happiness and then force them to go about in the wet and cold all day. I suppose Rainmaker's got to do what she can though, managing that lot. It must be ever so hard to rule an entire city, and without a good man at her side too. I don't think I could do it, personally, but then, I'm quite happy just bustling around keeping things nice and tidy." One of her birds, the Meadow Lark, chirruped, temporarily interrupting the Princess's monologue. "Now, now," she said sternly to the bird, "There's no need to be rude. You know I appreciate your help. But now you've gone and ruined my mood." The Princess hummed briefly to herself, finding her pitch, and then sang a few lines, ordering the bird to fly home and think about it's bad behaviour. "So sorry about that, Lady Kenshin." The Princess said in her normal voice once the bird had departed. "Normally I wouldn't tolerate such behaviour from my little critter friends, but Meadow Larks are one of my favourites. And, I cannot get enough these tasty little treats! You must share where you got them Tell you what, you can give Sebastien instructions once he returns to collect me. I haven't a head for such details anyways."

That's why I was thinking you might want to help out. We can trade back and forth as needed, and others can join in if their characters have Chase scenes. Also 'Yay' for posts.
-
The Princess eyed the sweets as Kenshin set them down on the table, noting with displeasure a slight grumbling in her stomach. "Oh no need to trouble yourself; these candies should be fine. I'll only take a few anyways, us women need to watch our figures, after all." As she took a few from the bowl and began to nibble, the Princess tried her best to hide her disappointment as her birds returned empty-handed. A cup of steaming hot Pumpkin Spice Loose Leaf Tea (perhaps with cream and a shot of vanilla syrup) would have been lovely on a rainy day. Unfortunately, the Green Tea that Kenshin offered did not sound nearly as appetizing. "What a marvelous ability," the Princess said, focusing on Kenshin's powers, rather than on her poor taste in tea. "Rainmaker must be very pleased to have acquired you. Have you been in the city long?"

Gotchya! That makes sense. Thanks for the clarification.

I think we all know Chase's weakness, and I think I (or Blaze if he is interested) can manage her while Winter is gone. Question about the Dalles police: I'm assuming they do not use their police sirens except when ordered to. Do they know the reason why?

Anyone opposed to T-Swift and the cop she's duping joining in with chasing the bus?
-
I believe Breeze's exact words were "flawless memory", but that's neither here nor there . I'm not disputing your theory about copper compounding, but the Lord Ruler might just have a photographic memory on top of his Feruchemy. His uncle Kwaan did, at least, so we know its in his genetics. I always thought that comment was just foreshadowing/a hint about Kwaan.

Wasn't me either... Weird. I saw that too! When did our RP timeline say Calamity occurred again? I think Taylor became an epic sometime after, so if it wasn't too long after, maybe this occured in the time before epics started causing too much chaos (didn't it take them like a year to show up?) Anyways, sorry for being MIA lately. It's gonna be difficult to keep up in the Question threads. If you really need my attention, probably best to send a PM. Also, on the Portland front, when things settle down, I'd be totally game to play a vanilla. Let me know if anyone has some suggestions.

Now I just want to see a scene where Nighthound just walks through a body of water without bothering to hold his breath. Maybe if Lucentia brings him back to Astoria at some point, he can walk across the bay. Could he survive in space? I'm guessing he couldn't do much once he's up there, but if he can regenerate from the cold and lack of air, I see no reason why he couldn't... Lava though... Shiny Sparkle or Funtimes wouldn't be interested in a field trip would they?
-
Cool note about healing PIs that I didn't realize until now: suffocation wouldn't work on them (if the healing is strong enough), since their cells could just regenerate from any damage caused by oxygen deprivation. That would mean that, even in a zero oxygen environment, they would be fine (again, as long as the healing factor is strong enough). Anyways, if suffocation wasn't already crossed off of your list of ways to kill Nighthound, you probably should do that now. I would, however, like to note that Mt. St. Helens is only a 1.5 hour drive away from Portland.

No RP for me again, sorry. November is the worst, and I am also starting working on a side project which will be requiring a lot of my attention. Between that in school, I might need to take a generation or two off. I'll be working out the details of that with Wyrn, hopefully. Anyways, for now, here is my action for the turn. Action: Kenneth Elariel is declared as heir. Action 1: Marriage of Kenneth Elariel (Public): Who: Lady Valerie Elariel What: Marrying Kenneth to an NPC. Where: Keep Elariel When: Gen 4, Turn 4, Action 1 Why: To provide for the future of the house.

He could just come to Saskatchewan. No DST here

Since school is only getting busier for me, I kind of appreciate the pace, haha. It's not as overwhelming to keep up with. Just a warning, since we are now officially in November, I will likely be MIA for the latter half of the month because I will be working on a 30 page paper while also wrapping up other assignments and getting ready for finals. I've tried to position my characters so it won't be a big deal to be absent for a while, but if there are posts you need written or plots wrapped up in the mean time, let me know sooner rather than later so I can make sure I get to it before things get crazy. That being said, knowing my tendency for procrastination, I could also just post more during the latter half of the month to avoid doing actual work
-
Ditto for me! Totally forgot about this until now! Action: Action 1: Trying for an Heir (Public): Who: Lady Valerie Elariel What: Trying to produce and heir (Male - Adrian, Female - Isolde). Where: Keep Elariel When: Gen 4, Turn 3, Action 1 Why: To provide for the future of the house, and forge marriage alliances.

My characters are also caught up, I believe. Kenshin and GOOD might be a little off, but their timeline is fairly self contained at the moment, and can iron itself out I think. Noted, we will wait for Winter and you and then we should be good to go then. Sure thing! Corvallis is ruled by a powerful High Epic named Rainmaker, who has the ability to distort the weather, among others. Rainmaker has assembled a group of epics, known collectively as the Queens of Corvallis, to assist in her rule. Cornucopia, an epic with the ability to manipulate plants and grow everything from pancakes to minivans, provides the city with food and supplies. Chase, who has the ability to 'tag' vanillas and keep track of them, oversees immigration and does some intelligence work. Buttercup handles security and police, and Blossom handles communications and PR. Their third sister, Bubbles, has the ability to create a large bubble that surrounds the city, protecting it from invasions and allowing the Queens to strictly control traffic in and out of the city and surrounding area. The final Queen, Euphoria, serves as Rainmaker's second in command, and she handles all of the administrative and human resource work involved in running a city. She has the ability to dose vanillas with powerful positive emotions. Using this power, along with her ability to rewrite emotional histories, it's Euphoria's job to keep the vanilla slaves that are the back bone of Rainmaker's city state content in their slavery, and to prevent any rebellions from happening. Euphoria's power is used as a sort of currency, and the slaves of epics who provide favours for Rainmaker, or who are highly ranked or valuable to the city will receive more positive emotion than the slaves of lowly ranked epics. One day ago (in game time) Euphoria went missing. No one knows much about her disappearance yet. Rainmaker and her Queens have discovered an Epic named Insight is involved, and are currently investigating him. Since Euphoria's disappearance, the city has been quietly attacked by Iconoclast, and epic with the ability to convert vanillas into feral ghouls. Rainmaker and the other Queens have been attempting to track down both Iconoclast and Insight with little success thus far, while trying to maintain order in the city as Vanillas react to having their happiness withdrawn. Unknown to the Queens, a vanilla rebellion may be brewing, now that Euphoria is not there to keep the vanillas happy. Generally, Corvallis was meant to be more politically focused, so while we've already had our fair share of action scenes, the main plot is meant to focus on the slow collapse of the city, and the Queen's efforts to stop that from happening, while trying to solve the mystery of Euphoria's disappearance. Let me know if you have any questions. I'll look forward to it! Hopefully I can also get the first Legacy/Peregrine post together so they can enter as well

The thought of the energy epic suffocating made Rainmaker so happy she had to resist the urge to bring back the sun for a moment of triumph. "Thank-you Gelliton, that's the best thing I've heard all day! Guards, notify me if there are any changes." Without waiting for a reply, Rainmaker reset her winds and took off into the air, texting her masseuse as she made her way towards her second home. It was time for a relaxing afternoon. Corvallis could figure out its own problems while it's Queen enjoyed the treatment she was due.
