  1. @Calderis, @Toaster Retribution, ok i agree it is speculating, on the time line. I do think it's likely he saved them as part of being Davars, I do agree what ever his first reason was, even as protecting their own. Is moot since now he is using them to manipulate Shallan.
  2. If I am remembering correctly the timeline. Mraize would have "saved" her brothers before he knew Shallon was Veil. So it was for his own purposes.
  3. Actually a good example of this is colonization. Many native people were wiped out , and had much higher fatality rates, from common diseases where they had no immunity or previous exposure.
  4. I agree with this 100%. One of the best things you can do is be enthusiastic about things. Life with passions is much more enjoyable. Weary twice as many years as @argent.
  5. Shallan's mother did not say one of us. I agree Shallan Mother was part of something and important, but I am not convinced yet exactly what that is.
  6. I am wondering what Dalinars or bridge four will do since Kaladin did not send the nightly glyph?
  7. We know Sadeas says "another one?" So it appears Dalinar did this more than once.
  8. I do not think the issue Shallan is falling into is alchoholism, but the pain and punishment. She has admitted she hates herself, I see her as intentionally hurting herself as a self punishment, and to experience the physical pain where she is covering up the emotional pain.
  9. Rial was a bit off, though we do know also many of the bridgemen do not have the same respect of authority. So the familiarity was not as off to me as the knowledge of the watch and the extra descriptions. Searches for Rial in TWoK and Wor return The Vanrial’s, fabrial, Iriali, Sebarial, Abrial one of the Highprinces Tyn mentions to Shallan might be dead in Jah Keved.
  10. I think that the Parshmsn equal voidbringers is not correct. My theory is that the voidbringers the storm is bringing or releasing, are the voidspren themselves. This will give the unmade like San'jat more access to affect the physical world. Some parshman will end up bonded to voidspren. As will some native fauna that have gemhearts, like chasmbeasts. There is possibility that humans too will be tricked into bonding voidspren also.
  11. This new persona of Shallons, Brightness Radiant, though Shallon puts a name to "her", and describes her as different, I think we have seen this part of Shallon before. Two examples that come to mind are: Her matter of fact actions in poisoning her father and dealing with Nan-Balats injuries. When she tells Vatha to bag up the bones, to dispose of latter. In the moment she has always had this ability to put aside her emotions and coldly or analytically deal with a situation. Shallon at age 11 (or earlier?) took on the responsibility of helping or saving her family, As Jasnah's ward for the first time she is under the guidance and protection of someone else. Jasnah had started to take care of her, in helping with her family setting up the causal. This is a big difference, and maybe a first for Shallon, So in some ways I think she may be more devastated and lost with the loss of Jasnah, than her parents.
  12. It is hard to pick which truths will be her next "level up". I agree that facing her grief will be a big step for Shallon, basically she has embraced the denial stage and has never let herself grieve for her parents, helleran or Jasnah. The truth of her early childhood, is another major truth she needs to face. I think that the reunion with her brothers will also be a major trigger, partly for her role in killing their mother, but also she will need to face the truth that they are not the people she wished, or pretended them to be. As for her powers, I think th e disguises are limiting her, as she is not looking beyond those things to what she can do with illusion. It will be interesting to see if she pushes more into what sound cymatics, can do. PS. I don't like the shipping, so avoid topics of Shallon, thanks for this @Calderis
  13. @Catladymani agree it could be crem related, those were just the couple references i remembered, that could point to stormlight making plants grow.
  14. I assume they cut the large gemstones into smaller ones. Onmy phone so can't look up quotes right now. But from what I can recall, on stormlight and plants... There is a comment by kaladin on stormwster better for plants than, river water. Edgedancer I think in general stormlight has growth/regrowth, since for all that can invest it squires included, stormlight causes healing.
  15. My thought was maybe Aladar was converted over, but that does not mean his daughter was, or the rest of his lighteyes. And that like Adolin the copycat is investigating is just fun.
  16. Or May Aladar is the copycat murderer.
  17. Maybe, need to work that day so not sure how the timing will be on getting there.
  18. I assumed he referred to period of his life after his mother died, though he was a teenager when she did die. I am surprised nonetheless. Navani states how she could never be close to Dalinar, how she always had to avoid him, so learning she did, in part, raise Adolin (and with Jasnah's help to boot it all) came as a surprise. I think it could have also been be earlier, Dalinar and Gavilar in the earlier years would have been off conquering the other highprinces. Leaving the children and wives home. Adolin was with his father later probably in early teens. We also do not know if Dalinars wife traveled with him as other wives do, which could have have meant Adolin and Renarin would have been under the care of Navani?
  19. More Jasnah and Hoid Lift popping in to Urithiu to eat lunch Shallon's truth on life before her mother died. Eshonai fighting off Odium spren. Szeth taking out Mr T. Dalinar realizing he is not meant to rule, just to unite and guide. Nale confronting Ishar.
  20. I tend to agree that those lines point to it not being Jasnah. The only reason I can think that eliminates this conflict, is the question of when was it written. Jasnah now, is the basis of it not fitting her because she is sure and specific in her statements of being a heretic, but was she always?
  21. Long time could mean last five books, or warbreaker 2, or later than that. Also wondering what effect the everstorm, or voidspren will or could have on nightblood?
  22. I was thinking option d.. Gawx was there and the information on negotiations and what was going on was from him, though written it was cleaned up. But then they interfered and did the backtrack, without his knowledge. Hoping now he tells lift!
  23. One other point on Ialai, we see many scenarios where Sadeas actually kept her from assassinations or her talk of over throwing Ehlokar. Without him she is free to plot and use her spies and assasins
  24. I don't think either Ym or other truthwatcher we have seen had gotten to the resonance point. Also unlike Renarin, they both started with the progression surge. There could be differences too Renarins epilepsy might make him more open to the shadesmar, being broken both physically and emotionally.
  25. Ah true. And I remember that they are above the storms... thanks!
