I think the following is additional evidence of Hoid knowing the Heralds, and the Original Ancient Singers actually. Hoid from the Epilogue as he is sneaking into the palace. From Chapter 121 Ideals, Ahu speaking to Moash I think Hoid has been meddling in things on Roshar for a very long time.

I agree that there is more progress than appears, it just was not as explosive. Over and over the message of OD was you fail, and move on, or keep trying, from Shallans talking of bad art, to Dalinars the next step. Even Tefts addictions, and Ehlokar finally moving forward. I think even though the story of Fleet was in WoR this was the Fleet book.
-
Elhokar also has been basically living a lie. Pretending by trying to act like a king, when in actuality he has no skills or clue on being king. He had already started to admit his lies to himself and to others.
-
Aside from mentions by @aemetha above of granting lightweaving, a magic that Hoid already has a version of. As a storyteller it is the best surge for him. Cryptics are attracted to lies, and desire truths to pogress, which are levels Hoid should be able to achieve, I have a feeling that other Orders levels might be more difficult for him.

Thanks for locating that. -
theory [OB] Ba-Ado-Mishram's Location
FollowYourMuse replied to Windrunner's topic in Stormlight Archive
When Dalinar gives the Kings drop to Navani, she tells him she has seen something like it before only much smaller like a sphere. "Gavilar made it." Chapter 121 Ideals page 1123 thanks @Fifth of Daybreak -
[OB] The third Bondsmith and Urithiru
FollowYourMuse replied to FirstSelector's topic in Stormlight Archive
Great information. I agree that the sibling was the spren of Urithiu. But I do not think it was trapped, I think we learn with the oathgate spren that ancient fabrials were an agreement, bond not captivity. -
[OB] Taravangian and the Diagram -- not what we think?
FollowYourMuse replied to taxilian's topic in Stormlight Archive
I have always thought Taravangian was wrong in what the boon and curse are, he asked for capacity, I think smart T is the curse, and the true capacity to save was the compassion. With what is revealed in OB I think the diagram is a trap, Adrotagia and Mrall are discussing how many errors there were and how it was wrong. I tend to agree it wasn't wrong, just led to outcomes that we're towards what benefitted Cultivations goal. If Odium uses the diagram it may have the same effect to mislead him. Just as I think, Taravangian unknowingly is not saving Karbranth, but sacrificing it. -

We do not know any of their ages. In looking, we actually get very little on ages. per coppermind, Navani is born between 1113 - 1123 so possibly up to 10 years younger than Dalinar. Otherthan Adolin as the youngest to get a shardblade, we can guess the others are older than he is, or have had their blades for less time. @Leyrann, I agree we do not really have enough information.

I think I was remembering Shallans views and her expectations, of being married to one of her fathers allies, and Lin Davar marrying his second wife who IIRC was only a few years older than Shallan. I will agree, on especially Alethi marriages, needing more of a partnership but in book there is the following:
-
Current science in brain development aside a 5 year gap is not that uncommon. historically gap's in ages was more common. Also my opinion may be skewed since I have been married 30+ years with a 14 year difference in ages. For the feudal kingdom and level of technology on Roshar Shallan would be considered marriageable. She had assumed she would have been married off to one of her fathers friends or allies so this is a closer in age match than she had probably thought she would have. Look at Laral and Roshone.

I have also wondered if there is more to Kaladin riding the Storms, From WoK the Stormfather refers to Men riding the storms...

Has anyone had luck ordering from Andersons Online? I am not sure if I ordered, or not or if I ordered 3 copies.

[OB] The Group that Showed up with Jasnah
FollowYourMuse replied to Isaiah Zayth's topic in Stormlight Archive
I agree, I would think that only the lack of stormlight would have kept her from being able to Elsecall to where she wanted to go. There is the fact that she did not know where Urithiru was, and we do not know enough yet to know if that is required to elsecall or not. I agree that she probably came alone and the group are everyone there caught in her wake when she arrived. -
[OB] Kaladin's going to summon a highstorm
FollowYourMuse replied to What's a Seawolf?'s topic in Stormlight Archive
I agree, though. I don't know if 1 windrunner could call a storm. Syls comments on harnessing the storms and bonding the storms, i tend to think it is more about utilizing and guiding or leading the storms. -
[OB] Guesses on which main character misses Part Two
FollowYourMuse replied to WhiteLeeopard's topic in Stormlight Archive
I think it will be Kaladin who is missing. Dalinar may be able to get updates from him via stormfather or span Reed. -
[OB] I can't think of a title, but SPOILER ALERT
FollowYourMuse replied to Shadowrunner's topic in Stormlight Archive
Roshar had stormlight and spren before the shattering of Adonalism. I think that the old magic is the original magic pre shattering, probably related to Dawnsingers. My theory is that Honor and Cultivation created ( or converted) higher spren from 10 existing forces. When Odium arrived he copied this and created 10 (or 9) of his own. I agree the differences will be on one side a spren with investiture from Honor and Cultivation in some mix vs a similar spren with investiture from just Odium. -
Looking at possible authors. Who could have killed someone who loved them, made me think maybe the author is Zahal/Vasher. He would be considered a heritic by Vorin beliefs, and possibly other beleifs also. He is a scholar, but not a poet. He has died and returned. Has seen Shadesmar, and possibly beyond. He has killed someone that loved him.

I will look at chapter headings and art. Then start where the previews ended. By that time I will have reread the pre-release chapters many times.

Agreed, my thoughts while reading, and the commentary on her smile, made me think she was just laughing to herself, like she was a lower darkeyed veden female, and now she is wandering a mythical city with Kings. The two gloves and description, for unknown reasons, made me wonder if before becoming a knight if she were a prostitute.

I do not think it relates to his love or lack of for Evi. I do not see any conflict with him continuing to love someone lost to him, Navani, and also growing to love Evi. If it is not the Stormlight, - I am not convinced that the storm father staring it is not because of the bond, completely eliminates that possibility. Then I think it may have more to do with the watch, but I am inclined to think it has more to do with the time piece, since we know that measurements have effect on spren. We also got the first mention of time as a force.

I think if Ialia gets the support of her princedom she can be highprince.

I like this idea, it explains some things, I have thought maybe dull form is from bonding more common and probably less sentient spren. So that fits the safety mechanism as they would always have some bond just not always one that is as beneficial. IIRC in order to achieve certain forms the listeners needed to have the right mindset and rythems to attract the right spren. So there is randomness to it. Ie in order to have artform they would first need to attract creativity spren. Living isolated the listeners would have less possibilities. Mateform, if bond is to lifespren would be more common. Spren availability would explain why the Parshmen living in various cities have taken different forms, that the listeners we're trying for and could not achieve.
