  1. The Order of the Blood. Welcome brother.
  2. This has the ring of an epigraph from the start of a chapter. I definitely think this is from Taln from his time in damnation. The first three lines could be about him suffering alone in damnation because the others betrayed the oathpact. The last line could be that he gladly endures the torture because it means life, not for him, but for everyone else.
  3. Does anyone know where this guy lives, it's time to go all Oceans Eleven on his chull. Who's with me?
  4. But she wouldn't be holding an infinite amount of stormlight, she would be storing a possibly infinite amount of nutrients and calories in a metalmind, that she could draw on and convert to stormlight when needed. So it would be like having a sphere to tap stormlight from that never went dun. We really don't no enough about how she metabolises food into stormlight at this point.
  5. These are all quotes from after Kaladin survives the highstorm leading up to Gaz's disappearance. Chapter 38 "Envisager" - While Kal was recovering Chapter 40 "Eyes of red and blue" Chapter 43 "The wretch" - As bridge 4 are introduced to Lamaril's replacement Chapter 46 "Child of tanavast" - After Kaladin rides the highstorm Chapter 49 "To care" - In the chasms after Kaladin decides to train them in the spear. Chapter 53 "Dunny" Chapter 55 "An emerald broam" - A week after Dunnys death. Chapter 59 "An honor" - This is the chapter where Gaz is first mentioned as been missing. Whatever happened to him Hashal know's about it.
  6. Gaz was still around for a while after Lamaril was executed, so I don't see that being the reason for his disappearance.
  7. Thanks for those quotes moogle. The second quote, while it doesn't say it outright, it does seem to suggest that the amount of power released from burning an Fcharged bit of metal is determined by the strength of the individuals allomancy, i.e. X4, X8, X10 and so on. So I'll concede that point.
  8. Wax explains that you can access the power stored in a metalmind tenfold. Given that the power is stored in the metal or filtered through the metal, times ten, I don't see what difference it would make to be a Lerasium Mistborn or a modern day Misting, you going to get the same amount of power from burning the metal because in this case it would be the Feruchemical charge that determines the power output instead of the strength of your allomancy. Or has there been WoB that says otherwise?
  9. I haven't read the whole thread yet just the OP so this may have already been said. I agree with the OP that if that's how Feruchemical aluminum works then a Keeper could reduce identity to 0 and then fill a metalmind then give it to an allomancer with the corresponding allomantic metal. I just wouldn't call it compounding as the allomancer burning the metal isn't actually doing any compounding, all their getting is a "power up" so to speak, of the ability stored times 10.
  10. I would hire another C spinner to kill him, that way he wouldn't have any more of an advantage of evading death than a regular guy.
  11. I know right, she deserves a book of her own. I don't think all the POV characters have been confirmed for the second set of 5 book so I'm going to cross my fingers and hope that one of those books will be her.
  12. It was Kaladin but now my new favorite character is Lift, what can I say, she's just awesome.
  13. Glimpse: Kaladin embraced Amaram like a long lost brother... Context: As they parted, seeming to defy reason. Amaram fell straight up into the sky. Only to fall back down a minute later with a resounding splat!
  14. Elhokar could've left Gavilar's sword and a set of plate with Tearim back in Kholinar to guard the Queen.
  15. To have the power to soulcast an atmosphere I think you'd need to command the power of a Shard. I can't see a Surgebinder being able to achieve it even if he had 1000 fully infuse gemhearts.
  16. Maybe her father's brutal temper isn't natural, maybe he's in possession some invested magical object or fabrial that change's him when he uses it making him lose control. He could've used it to kill all those people and afterward put it away in the safe. Shallan seeing this connects the two thinking of them both as a monster.
  17. I used to think that Shallan was referring to herself being a murderer and monster but now that I've reread tWoK I now believe that she didn't kill anyone in that scene. I now think that the murderer and monster she refers to is her father and she was only a witness to whatever happened, and she blames herself for what happened to her mother. If she killed anyone in that scene then I just can't see her reacting to Jasnah the way she does when she kills those four murderers. I think that the only person Shallan has killed is her father. I like the idea of her using the term monster to describe two different things that are both connected to what happened to all those people.
  18. It was just a hunch based on how brutally Shallans father treated his son's. When I was rereading his interlude where it says "Twenty-three tears old, he thought, and already a cripple." it just sounded to me like him becoming a cripple was something that happened recently and that his father could've been the cause and Shallan could of saved him before their father went too far and killed him. But I just reread that interlude again a minute ago and noticed something that didn't register before. I thought that Shallans father abused all his sons and that it was only Shallan that was spared, but upon reading it again I realise it says in reference to their fathers brutal temper "Only Balat had escaped unscathed. Balat and Shallan" After reading that I no longer think it's likely that their father is responsible for Balat being a cripple, and so it no longer seems likely she killed him protecting her brother. Maybe her father finally unleashed his temper on her and she killed him in self defense.
  19. After completing my reread of "The way of kings" and then rereading "red carpet once white" I now believe that Shallan didn't kill anyone in that flashback. I think that the murderer and monster she refers to is her father and that she was just a witness to whatever happened. If she had any part of that massacre then I just can't see her reacting to Jasnah the way she did when she killed those four murderers. I think that the only person Shallan has killed is her father and that she did that in self defense, or protecting Nan Balat.
  20. In my version it just says "Kaladins eyes snapped open." It doesn't mention eye colour.
  21. "I will continue to obsess about what will happen in Words of radiance until the book arrives at my door"
  22. There's a difference though, Jasnah shadow is drawn toward stormlight. Where as Axies shadow points toward sunlight. I agree though, I would like to learn more about the Aimians, Axies was a fascinating character.
  23. I could be just as you said. It just got me thinking because Shallan mentions finding a bunch of strange maps of her fathers. I thought that maybe the Listeners and the Ghostbloods might of been searching for something. I know it's a leap with nothing to back it up. I had quite a few things jump out at me on my reread that I've been trying to fit together and find connections.
  24. I'm of the same opinion about how Shardplate works. I posted about it in another thread, can't remember which one. I think that it acts like an impervious skin that stormlight can't escape from giving the KR perfect containment like voidbringers are said to have. I also think once Surgebinders say all the ideals that they give of stormlight in a colour unique to their order and that's what makes KR's plate glow different colours for different orders. Or it could be that some orders are paired or grouped in some way and those orders give off the same coloured glow.
  25. Did anyone else also notice the creatures on the chart look like that creature Darkness used to drain Lift of her stormlight. I wonder what connection they have to Surgebinders that they'd be on the chart. Probably just that they can nullify their abilities, but maybe it's something more.
