haha just as a joke Renarin is Dalinars wife, but Dalinar got cursed and sees her as a son. everyone knows this and does not speak about it.

realy stuned that everyone thinks/writes about Szeth. im sure Szeth will get there eventually, but i think this is somehting else. i guess its something Desolation/Odium related, but i could see an attack of the Parshendi against the camps too. - strongest/longest Highstorm ever? - the Parshendi summoned storm? - Odiums spren/creatures attacking? - Parshendi attack? - Sedeas coup for the throne?(civilwar) - Darkness attacking Shallan/Jasnah at the shattered plains just some alternatives to Szeth =) ok - some are not realy likely but possebilities sooner or later there must be something an Desolation/Odium related event. dont think we need to wait for the 3. book for this =)

i dont think this has anything todo with Szeth. sure he might be there within this time, but i belive like Dalinar; that he wrote the massage himselfe. Dalinar, vision-guided would write more about desolation, as about random human actions. so i belive that it will be some event connected to Odium. since Sly saw thouse "odd" spren, im sure it is some action of them =). this should actualy aid Dalinars cause, a real reason to work together and bring the KR back.

i dont have any clue about swordmanship/fencing, but i think a shield is usualy used to block most attacks. this is not possible when you fight againsts shards. because they can only take 2 strikes. is it worth it, to carry a shield for 2 blocks? - it will require to learn a different style in fighting - different from the usual shield use, different forms for the shardblade. they more or less need to be invented. in normal combat, youre shard gauntlet/arm can be youre shield. with lots of uses =)

to fight someone in shardplate, i would use a bucket full of pitch and set him on fire. idk how much protection the shardplate gives from liquites/fire, but it should be difficult for anyone to fight, while on fire.

i guess in the next Kaladin or Dalinar chapter, Kaladin will tell Dalinar about his ablities, if the chapter allows it. im relativly sure Kaladin will tell them before Shallan and Jasnah will arive at the Shattered Plaines.

i dont do any martial arts - maybe someone doing some fancing could give insight to the performence of women? would say they do just fine. usualy in sige situations, and in normal combat too, ppl with very bad equipment are used to weaken/tire the enemy. i dont see much difference there between women and men. as for combat, guess many women can do just fine with bows. --- hmm the difference in food is realy odd i agree and that ardents dont even need to keep thouse. kind of shows that its just Vorin sillyness? usualy the ruls for the pirsthood are much more strict then for populance. but here it seems they have less rules and limitations - major ones.

we should keep several things in mind. Kaladin dening the shards is near to an heretical act. winning shards and using them is propably precived as one of the best ways to be in Vorism for a lighteyes. for a darkeyes its even more, guess you could say divine act. with the Aleti mindset it is a crazy thing todo. For Amaram Kaladin is a high ranking lighteyes at this point, for Kaladin to say, give it to one of my men(darkeyes) - means more or less for Amaram, give it to someone closer to a slave/parshmen/animal. in addition it adds alot of insult, to prefere being a slave/parshmen/animal then to become a high ranking lighteyes. just think about the situation in america 60 and more years ago. (sorry for this one, but it makes things more clear)

Guess Jasnah has more time on the ship to think about it, we know something is happening on the ship, this can change her view alot. please keep in mind Jasnahs father the King was assesinated by the Parshendi. She made it her life to understand what happend.(walking on walls) a power maybe given by the Parshendi(Desolation) in her mind? the world of the stormlight archives needs her to understand and learn, to survive the desolation. but with the Parshendi, she might not be the right person to ask anything. i dont think she could convince Dalinar to kill/expulse them all. he has too much else on his mind, only a vision could bring him todo so.

i think its nice that you have so much to discuss about the stormlight archives =) but can you please keep this threat clean? ppl are happy and hopefull when they see new postings here, about new stuff to read. youre postings are just disapointing for them then, but they could be so much more somewhere else =) --- sorry for giving hope for new stuff with this posting, but i hope to make it better in the future.

just think about it, if the parshendi all turn to monsters, they did it before. you think there wouldnt been a culcture of turturing/hunting/genocide all parshendi after a desolation for centuries? i mean its not like there are lots and lots of ppl without losses to them. so looking back at this historty of parshendi slaughtering a huge % of the human population again and again. they must have had very very good reasons not to commit genocide. there were lots and lots of ppl which lost all familiy members, children wifes thouse ppl did not commit genocide - the parshendi are still on this world. so i dont know thouse very good reasons not to kill them, but they must be there, so no they shouldnt be killed. but ppl would kill them regardless if they knew.

ok lets assume some or all parshendi will turn to monsters. they will have done this every desolation before, and ppl knew it. the question now would be why didnt the humans eradicate the parshendi before? so there must be a reason to keep them around, and i dont think its just the slave-labor. maybe parshendi are just a soft target for thouse "wrong" spren - and maybe - just maybe its better if they turn a parshendi, then create a thunderclast or something like it =) i mean, better fight something out of flesh and blood, which cann be cut to pices, instead of a rock.

so guess with Sly asking Kaladin to tell Dalinar about his (KR) abilities, this will all come out. you can be sure that Navani will ask questions about his way/life until she gets most of it, if not all of it. She will be aided by Sly, who will not accept lies. the question is now how many KR there will be in a short time. otherise each male Lighteyes wants to know, how to bekome one. with Kaladin one of the very few KR there are, his storry will be known by everyone? how much will Dalinar and Navani disclose to the others? how fast can Kaladin look/be a KR? Kaladin ablities are kind of simmelar/same as Szeths - this could be an issue. how much power does Vorinism have to discredit new KR? if the need for KR is much higher, more ppl are inclined to belive Kaladins storry.

i guess a spren of a Knight Radiant can pass back to shardsmar and return without any harm/loss. guide other spren to potential ablicants, vetted by the spren of the KR. this would make sence with one of Dalinars earlyer visions in TWK. --- about the pink water, i first thought it was water with blood. but after rock fished out the sphere, i thought it was just the light reflected from the water of the sphere. if it would have been anything else(very odd), would rock just search it for a sphere? guess we are not accustomed to lots of glowing spheres in many different colors =) --- something like 45 days to the book - wonder how much more they are going to give us before release.

i guess you are wrong about the Parshendi not binding spren up until recently. they call the "slave-form" a lack of a from, i guess its the lack of a spren. without spren they are in slave-form, so all thouse Parshendi which are at the Shatteredplaines would have been in slave-form for a long time? as it sounds, this slave-form is not realy able to care for basic needs, without help. so who cared for all of thouse Parshendi? did they all runaway? thousends? they just remembered their gods?(spren or genetical memory?) i dont think so. they might have lost alot of different forms, but they were using diffrent forms all the time. --- i think too, its a "bad" spren traped in the stone. which might be able to control/takeover a Parshendi. guess possession could be as easyly a bad God or an evil sprit, depending how youre culture sees/handels it.

hmm keep in mind, thouse silly windspren might be not that silly in shardsmar. i thought a bit more about this, with Jasnah having a spren, and using spanreds for a long time, we propably would know, if her spren is distrubed about it. we could propably learn alot from Shallans spren, but there is just not much communication yet. i mean she has a shardblade, if her spren hates it, he/she would tell her. if Shallans gift "memories" was from her spren, this would be very odd. it would mean she was bounded to a spren for a long time, with no communication with the spren at all. this enslavement/imprisonment/harvesting of spren for fabricals, could turn the spren community against humans. they could stay away and not bind with humans, or only very few spren would do so. if bond spren get realy angry they could do alot of harm.

we do not realy know what creatures are fought in desolations. if thouse creatures are not realy alive, then maybe you can only cut them into pices. pricing them with spears, daggers, arrows will have close to no effect at all. an axe would be kind of useless, because it does the same thing like a sword, it cuts, but mit much more force which is not required with shardblades. crushing weapons like morningstars, fails... are not realy working, because a shardweapon would not be stoped(by a body) to crush anything. so its all about cutting things. if you cant kill them quickly like humans, you might not want to fight them in battle formations. lets look at thouse greatshells - you think a phalanx of spears would be helpfull? so you need weapons to swarm youre enemy, and or fight individualy. lets look at a shardspear - how would it work? is only the spearhead a shard? - then the spearhead would price the body, until the shaft of the spear crashes into the body, as a blunt object. this sounds very odd. kind of fighting with a blunt stick? with that it would loose alot of the advantages of a shardblade. ok if not only the spearhead is a shard, there is little difference to swords, except the length of the weapon. with a long weapon, used for slashing(highest damage) enemies, you must be much more carefull not to hit youre allies. im not sure how much damage you can do with just pricing strikes, but make sure no one touches the shaft? im not sure how the shaft should work as shard and as grip. about plate for horses - with unstopable weapons, its all about precision, quick evading/parrying(can you even parry weapons with shardblades?) some Radiants have movement abilities, which would be hindered by horses. idk if a horse is of much use fighting monsters. if it would rise with shardarmor it could so alot of harm. if it runs - guess its like a car crashing into a croud of ppl. so i would say animals with shardplate would require more control then possible.(vs the risk)

when a desolation can kill 90% of the ppl, then each hand which can carry a (sword)spear is necessary to defend teh realm. sure the standing army will take a beating before everyone goes to war, but it will happen. keep in mind about the times we are speaking, they force conscript farmers for the army, fighting with whatever they find to use as a weapon. with slavery and brutal punishments as they are there. do you think lots of soldiers will risk rape and turture their own? im sure they dont care as much about modisty as we are today - and they dont have to burn their leavings, they might just burry them. this is not just about the military, with lots of ppl dieing everyone needs to pick up the tasks which arent done without help of the other gender. the knight radiant are comming back, i guess nearly everyone in the books thinks they are just worriors. but i guess about 50% of the ppl able to bound spren will be women. why shouldnt thouse use their powers for combat?

hmm killing his wife sounds somehow fitting - idk if the timetalbe allows this - but it would have been after the assesination from The King. he could have either asked to forget doing this, and was change to be allways honorable. or he wanted to face justice, but couldnt brin himselfe todo so, he asked to be more honorable to face it, but lost all his memories of his wife as curse. i realy think that his behavior has changed after The Kings death, it being the curse/boon would be fitting.

i guess there is a huge control difference between a soulcaster(fabrical) and real soulcaster. the mind is just a much better tool, then a few stones on a fabrical.

there was some q&a in the live writing event with brandon. a question about dawnsingers or was it dawnshard and the KR was asked and answered, i dont realy remember, but someone could remember better or check it out =)

i kind of think his boon is being honorable in most ways. there is also a problem mentioned in the beginning of WOR with Dalinar which could fit too, or just go with strong character.

Dalinars visions allready showed us that it was very different before this age. nohadon or how hes called, in the vision spoke about writing a book, or Dalinar even suggested it to him. we know he actualy did write the book later on. i guess with more and more of Dalinars visions, the return of the KR and the starting Desolation there will be huge changes to social niceities like this safehand thing, female and male arts.. when life gets more and more difficult you might drop restrictions which might threaten survivel. in the comming books we will see, that more and more of the vorinism teaching are wrong or corrupted. so changes are likely to come. i also cant see all "new" male KR not reading. or all the female KR not using weapons, and stay home heal/soulcast while ppl are dieing. i guess there is alot of teaching required to become a true KR. books are a way to make teaching less difficult and with a book you might not need a teacher all the way. maybe even spren will tell their Radiant that it is silly to keep thouse odd customs. just things like healing or soulcasting, can do alot of damage if something is remembered/tought wrong. sure you can teach thouse things without books, but how many teachers will there be? but many books could be produced.
