  1. They don't really look like scrolls to me. I noticed the lines. What about the red? He could be carrying around a Kandra's spikes or something. He doesn't need to have performed Hemalurgy to carry spikes, right? Edit: couldn't he also, say, give the Spikes to someone (like a physically-manifested Design as we see in Yumi, or Design in the CR, or Ulaam) and have them perform the Hemalurgy?
  2. I started making a 3d map of the Cosmere (and beyond) based on the AU starchart...but it turned out the AU one is not perfectly accurate (since it is in-world). You're right, it does look like he's lightweaving. Perhaps he's telling a story to someone, and is creating an image of the planets+moons as part of the narrative? So...I just noticed that it looks like Hoid is carrying HEMALURGIC SPIKES and his trusty flute (didn't he get a new one in WaT? Maybe we can compare the descriptions to figure out more of the image's timeframe). What looks like a flute (1) has the holes that I believe flutes have, and the "spikes" (2) have..."red stains" on them.
  3. Yes!! That's exactly what I was getting at! WaT spoilers: Thanks for taking a look at this Theory!
  4. How are the Shards/Vessels warped?
  5. You should update the Word Hunt rare word board.

    1. Through the Living Wrath

i gots lotsa homework tho so may take some time

  6. "Kinaesthetic" - 2 uses. "Kinesiology" - 1 use. "Effervescence" - 4 uses. "Abash" - zilch. "Knolled" - null. "Nullish" - 2 uses, though I'm not sure if it's an actual word outside the programming context. Edit: "Vocationally" - 0, though adverbs and the like are doubtless rare and nearly unused even outside 17S. But "vocational" has only 5 uses. "Aa" - 0 uses. Yes, it's a word. nvm apparently searches need to be at least three characters long.
  7. Rind
  8. Who's that one from Sunlit Man? The sister...who got a Cinderheart. Edit: oh wait, does "hail" include ancestors? Also, your siggy says "Will review any crazy theory you want," so, uhmmmm: This was one of my first couple theories I posted, and no one ever replied... Edit: also maybe this pls:

  13. Was this supposed to be "kinesthetic learner"? I just looked up "kinetic learner" since I don't remember hearing that term before, and it suggested "kinesthetic learner." Yeah, that would be nice. I actually started book 2 - about 1/4-1/3 through - but paused reading it. I'll probably continue..sometime.
  14. Hi, welcome! I love Dungeon Crawler Carl, though I've only read the first book. That's a lot of books, nice job! I also started with Way of Kings, though I didn't know about the Cosmere right away. I honestly think it's fine that you didn't read Mistborn first. "I joined this forum to learn more about the series and try to make some friends and have discussions about it" That's one of the reasons I joined as well! There are lots of great people and discussions to be had. @Treamayne is practically an admin/moderator in my opinion (which is a good thing), since he always helps out new users, find WoBs and quotes (WoBs are "Words of Brandon," and are basically Brandon's answers to fan questions at conventions, livestreams, signings and such. They often clarify things and can have very useful information.) Here's a question for you: do you have a favorite (or few top favorite) books that you have read? What in Way of Kings do you find most interesting so far?
  15. Just curious... what does "declines as she/her" mean in your pronoun field? I've just never seen that phrase before (in relation to pronouns).

    1. ParaTulip

      ParaTulip

A noun or pronoun declines as it changes with respect to the part of speech it is used as. Eg, she, she's (she is), her, hers; and more immmediately, fae, fae's (fae is), faer, faers. Those are all declinations of she and fae respectively. Because there is such a simple map from the set of she declinations to fae declinations, they are said to decline in the same way.

I am sorry if this is foreign to you, it is a much more common concept in latin grammar, which I took for 4 years in high school.

So, like Fae/Faer (I will note that your pronoun field actually says "Fae/Fear") has the same variations as She/Her? Like She/Her/Hers/She's, Fae/Faer/Faers/Fae's, I think I see it now, thanks. But then he/him/his/he's is different... ah yes.

Fun fact: according to Google, the usage of "declination" has declined:

      Oh no! *Fixes that.*

Well, thank you for pointing that out. And yeah, learning Latin has become a lot less popular in the last 200 years.
