Oh. I keep forgetting. Granted, by the way. I wish that I would remember to make a wish every time. -

Twilight Over The Olethros
KaladinsSenseOfHumourSpren replied to Through The Living Glass's topic in Roleplaying
Vire entered the station, still annoyed from his recent visit to Roshar. Everyone kept thinking he was... Vyre. His parents didn't even do anything about it. Vire got out a strange device in the shape of a small box. It had wires spilling out of it. "Who wants it?"- 209 replies

Mil had seen Var walk past him escorted by a guard. He pretended to be crazy, but Mil could see through that. He had a similar air to Ver (Mil's first cousin once removed) the only time Mil had ever seen him. His accent was certainly not one from the Central, Eastern or Western Dominances.

Mil wandered about the halls of Blackkeep, lost in thought. It was... almost surreal, going from a scavenger covered in ash from head-to-toes to sleeping under a roof. That year alone had felt like his whole life. His only company where the mists at night... which he was increasingly certain didn't have the best intentions.

Wait, so is Trune synonymous with fain? This could be that fain life can metabolise both chiralities somehow, and then convert it to their backwards-chirality, which non-fain life can't handle. I don't know how far to take the line on the Coppermind page that says that Sho Del filled a similar niche to humans. I used this to make the assumption above that Sho Del did not have superior biological weaponry. This would mean that, with a similar size, Sho Del would mature at a similar time. Then again, singers mature at 10. Humans would typically reach maturity by 15 if not for our slowly developing brains. But, I just realised that singers mature in 10 Rosharan years, which is 13-14 Earth years. So, how fast should Sho Del grow?

Mirrored chirality would be interesting to have, as it would mean that they wouldn't be consume 'normal' organisms and that normal ones can't consume fain life. Yeah, there'd be almost no evolutionary benefit from two pairs of unspecialised arms. I'm thinking that one pair is serves a purpose in combat. However, the Coppermind says that they filled a similar niche to humans, so maybe not weaponry, as humans weren't remotely dangerous until Homo erectus mastered fire about a million years ago. So maybe it's for sensory organs, like antennae? Does DSP confirm whether they can see outside the human visible spectrum? I haven't read it, so I haven't actually seen many Sho Del. Are they roughly human-sized? All I've heard about Tamu Keks is that they're used for communication with dragons. Do you mean that they need dragonsteel as often as Returned need Breath?

@Argenti@Spark of Hope@IcedOutPenguin@Wyver the Great@SpartanBrigade@Through The Living Glass@.....@CoderDrag0n8@Tinwatcher@ChickenBonanza@Edema Rue@ThatOneWorldhopper@Dilly honor spren@Ashkaloda@Dragonheir This is not the start of the RP, it's just a thread to speculate on the biology of mysterious species in the Cosmere. The first thing that needs addessing is Sho Del, so that's what this'll be about for now. Contribution here is optional. The Coppermind page doesn't have much. They have 6 arms, chalk-white skin and hair, and are good at navigating through Shadesmar. So far, they remind me a bit of the UrDail from cytoverse.

Welcome to the Shard!
I recommend you make and introductory post here.

Accepted. I think we should start doing some Spec. Bio for Sho Del. Should I create a new thread?

The Cosmere's greatest hero is not who you probably think it is. It's not Dalinar, not Vin, not Sazed, not Hoid, not Sigzil, not even Taravangian. It is Ati, the character who also has the most tragic story known. Let's look at his perspective for a minute. He was known among the 16 who killed Adonalsium as one who was kind and generous. He took the Shard Ruin, thinking he could contain it's Intent. And he did, for just long enough to create Scadrial. Scadrial would not exist without Ati. But it's more than that. After Ruin did take over, Ati was able to reign it in to a slow and gradual decay instead of total destruction, as seen in HoA. Before WaT, we were all worried about Odium taking over the Cosmere. Now, we're worried about Retribution. But these Intents are mere hatred and emotion, easy to deceive. Multiple times in Stornlight, the protagonists could rely on them wanting to occupy, not destroy. However, if someone like Taravangian was there and the Shattering and took Ruin... I wouldn't give the Cosmere even a single millennium to live. Ati saved the entire Cosmere by resisting Ruin. Now, there is one final scene I want to address. That is when Vin slays Ati in HoA. We know from WaT that when two Shards fight, planets are destroyed. This did not happen in HoA. This may be one of the rare inconsistencies, but I choose to believe that Ati's final sacrifice was not resisting, letting Vin kill him so Sazed could take the Shards. Kelsier, he did not deserve that. "Vax?"

You must pick your homeworld. Yolen, Ashyn, Threnody or First of the Sun. If you're doing Yolen for where you are during the Shattering, you'll be killed by the destruction of Yolen (did not happen in the real Cosmere) and play as a Cognitive Shadow. I'll say you're Invested enough to persist. Unless you're a Shard. Are you one of the 16?
