    Fast paced? Short? There's only one book I can think of: Ender's Game by Orson Scott Card. The book is about 6 year olds fighting aliens The MC is 6 at the start and 12 at the end, so it's fast. It's also short. And It's pretty good. My 17th favourite book of all time so far. One of the sequels took 16th. Actually Ender's Shadow isn't really a sequel plot-wise, it's mostly the same events from a different perspective and you could read either one, really. 'Tis Sci-fi, as it has the aforementioned aliens and most of the book takes place on a space station orbiting Earth.

    There's a list of planets at the first post in the main thread. And Shards don't create magic systems, magic systems are a by-product of their Investiture permeating the Spiritual Realm of the planet. And at least some Shards are guaranteed to settle on planets eventually, if not immediately.

    Magic systems will arise based on the actions of the Shards. Astronomy is already a thing regardless of Shards and Adonalsium.

    Magic systems will depend on which Shards settle where. There is almost no chance of seeing the actual Cosmere's Invested Arts here. However, once Shards Invest places, we'll use this for magic systems.

Mil did not believe in true determinism, he believed in soft determinism. On the macro scale, things are mostly deterministic, but when you zoom in the motions of subaxial (quantum) particles are the only source of randomness in the universe. Of course, these do eventually add up and affect the macro world, and so dice are random, as they were affected by sub axial movement from the past several billion years. Everything is random, it's just that dice give a uniform distribution and people do not. Doesn't matter anyway. Free will is an illusion. Mil nodded. Yes, if the Spiked were allowed to continue, then no one would be left to hear him. He must do something. Var seemed quite outspoken, but so did Keldron. Did this mean anything? Mil would have to think some more.

    What I'm thinking is that Kelsier's death kind of 'jammed' his spirit web, so that even with a physical body he lost it when he died. However, this doesn't make much sense even to myself. Maybe the 2 artificial connections he has (Ire device connecting him to Pres, the spike connecting him to the Physical Realm) have overriden the connection that grants Allomancy. Sazed did alter how Allomancy works to change Snapping and stuff, so maybe Kelsier's Allomancy is just outdated. Spook was granted Mistborn powers after the Catacendre, so he would be around. We'd probably have known if Breeze and the others were cut off, but maybe it's because they were alive whilst Sazed un-did Rashek's ash-surviving modifications? Actually, that makes more sense, as Allomancy is part of one's sDNA. Sazed could've altered everyone's sDNA to revert the LR's changes and change Snapping, but Kelsier was dead at the time and wasn't changed.

    Yeah Kal was only at five. @CoderDrag0n8's at a sexadecillion. All I need to do is become RayseOdium and take his pain... Also Shardplate is already too heavily Invested to Push on without duralumin or something. Does duralumin come with the basic metals? Is gold a basic metalmind?

    Mil Veriel strolled through the halls of Blackkeep. It was easy to forget he had a surname. He was more noble than skaa by blood, yes, and he did have a noble's education, but his life even before the death of his parents was more like that of a skaa. Veriel... He contemplated the three recent deaths. Lijal, the street urchin. Copper Stopper, the Copper Stopper. Tin Al, the mob boss. Three less people who could hear him speak philosophy. "Say, if a coinshot was about to kill two people, but there is a third person you can push in front to take the coins for both people, what would you do? Would you push, sacrificing one to save two or let the two people die?"

    So Grace is an NPC. We'll see if she actually take Odium. The RP will start... within 4 days hopefully? I've got stuff I need to do. The SE game I'm in is only going to pick up from here. Will have to see. Sho Del biology isn't urgent, as all the Sho Del so far are taking Shards, but it'll be worked on. The star positions are also not super super urgent, but will be important. So, those of you contributing to Astronomy, just make up something.

    If this is the case, then the Scar (I typed Skar like 3 times) should point to Threnody in the depth-axis. If you've read my message in the main thread, you'll know it's time to start cobbling things together. First, we need to establish some axes. Positive Y axis is above the Galactic Plane, negative is below. Positive X-axis is towards the galaxy's centre, negative away. The Z-axis is going clockwise along the spiral arm when looking from above. Let's make Roshar the origin, so (0,0,0). Scadrial, Sel and Nalthis should be within 10 light years. I'll leave the rest to you guys. All units are by default in light years, by the way.
