    The Trisolaran ships are coated in SIM. Nothing deeper can be scanned, since the electromagnetic force is blocked by a layer of advanced Trisolaran tech beneath the SIM layer.

So either Riah gives Navin the box or Navin stays with Riah at all times Or you just drop the spores in a puddle and run, then use the tower of vines to keep track of how far ya'll have travelled. OH! I forgot to say, ya'll will start with a compass. There is no North Pole on these worlds, yet the compass always points in a single direction.
