  1. The sophon unfolded itself from 10D into 7D, so it was now the size of a tennis ball and visible to the eye of a normal human. "I should go," it said, through sound this time, although it reverberated quite a bit. The sophon folded itself back up and zipped through one of the doors. This one's going to have an M-Bot arc.
  2. The sophon said - wrote - nothing at first. Sandy sees this, by the way, but the sophon is an AI and it's the one doing all this right now. "Alright." Is KDJ a Narrator? Sandy may be the only character who'll hear he's fiction and not care.
  3. There was a pause. "What?"
  4. You know what -> No legs -> Compound eyes on stalks for 360 vision, and have like 9 of them -> No neck, gets rid of the biggest weak point -> 9 arms with pincer-like things -> Lungs that double as swim bladders -> At this point we can just give him radial symmetry -> An organ filled with nanomachines and lined with light-sensitive cells, for drafting and also the nanomachines can make helium to fill the lungs/swim bladders if Named wants to fly
  5. The Thousand Stars break the laser into smaller beams and refocus and reflect it back onto Arrakis, adding the power of the sun to it.
  6. The sophon, being a single proton, is fast enough to zip in and out of KDJ's retina fast enough to make it look like KDJ is seeing words floating in the air. "What are Transcribers?" the words say.
  7. And then sometime later, in response to Wyver: It's on page 1
  8. Trout declines. I bring in the Seven Satrapies. Trout claims the title of Promachos and declares war on Arrakis.
  9. A sophon followed him So Sandy knows everything he's doing
  10. I imagine them looking like giant tardigrdes Trout, having reached his God Emperor form, Commands the sandcaterpillar to hand over the sandwich.
  11. Coder what happened to KDJ?
  12. Yeah I shall need some more information Sandy is quite powerful, though not Narrator powerful And if he's affected, can he just use quantum tunneling?
  13. 7 on each hand? That makes 21, minus the 16 metals, leaves 5, not nine. You know what, why even be anything remotely human? The question is, what should he be then? I shall have to think about it. Also, on the wiki, there's a page called The Wall, but it doesn't explain how it works. It says its meant to keep characters from leaving TLT, but mine do that all the time.
  14. 'Tis fine, I didn't take it that way I thought you'd targeted Hoid Slayer and he'd saved himself
  15. Wait what No one died? I'm assuming Aki is not meant to be striked through But wow I think we may win Zinwik awoke as the first rays of light hit Luthadel. He was... alive? Shocking. Even more shocking was that no one new was dead either. There was now only one thing left to do. "Lord Renalis!" he bellowed.
  16. Zinwik approached Markus. It'd been 3 days, but he still wasn't used to being called a Lord. Neither was he used to the lack of non-human species. Four of the New Lords had been killed by people loyal to what everyone called the Final Empire - these humans and their aggressive tendancies - and one had fled, no where to be seen. That left only Markus and him. Zinwik was surprised at how much he cared for this city. It was so small, and on a planet that was probably going to be destroyed in a few years anyway. However, Zinwik thought that the humans here may have some hope left, especially those like Markus. Checking to make sure his translator pin was on, Zinwik said, "If we live through this, and I find a way back to my universe, will you join me?"
  17. Fourth, I think. How much do you have? I can add a vote to an elim
  18. Right so update He's made no progress Nothing He's still on part 3 I was far more successful with some other folks in my class, like @Spahc11 who finished Skyward about 100 times faster than him, and another one who's not on the Shard but finished the Skyward series and is now reading TFE.
  19. So there's a scene in The Burning White that is quite something.

Can't remember the exact words, but it goes something like this:

(It's not really a spoiler, I'm not even saying names, but I'm tagging it just to be safe)

    Spoiler

So someone asks, "How many troops does the enemy have?" or something like that

    "Twenty thousand"

Someone else says, "She's joking, it's probably one thousand."

And then another person says, "Nine hundred and sixteen."

And they all stared at him and asked, "Did you count all of them?"

And he's like, "Of course not. Why does everyone else always guess round numbers? They’re not any more likely."

    Hilarious.

    3. Through The Living Ash

      Through The Living Ash

*In this scenario I would hazard that a round number is more likely, as the way that an army is organized into companies and whatnot often involves having a round number of people, or a round number + 1, in each unit.

      KaladinsSenseOfHumourSpren

But this army is not very organised

      Not at all

Can't remember the context, but I'm sure it was either a bandit army or something spoilery

      Neither are organised well

  20. Kreen stumbled through a door and fell asleep, tapping bronze again.
