General religious discussion thread
Oranjejuicemonki replied to Ixthos's topic in General Discussion
I mean I think the apostles counted as prophets but I guess that's kinda a tangent. But you believe that the Catholic Church eventually got things all mixed up no? Again I'm not super well versed in Reformation stuff and obviously you know more about what you believe than I would, but I felt like the reason for the need for a Reformation would be cause without prophets and apostles to receive revelation from God people can go astray a lot easier.- 358 replies

Alright ya. What if God decided to call prophets again like he always used to, wouldn't that be a better solution? And this makes sense too, and prophets weren't ever perfect and they could be flawed authorities still, but if there were a prophet called of God then He would choose someone who would always be trying their best to follow Him.- 358 replies

Ya that makes sense and I agree. One more question I have about the Protestants is since you don't have a Pope like Catholics do or prophets and apostles living today, how do you know what's right if you have no person with authority to say which interpretations of scripture are the most true when there are disagreements? I guess probably nobody would be able to misinterpret the most important things like the Atonement of Jesus Christ, so maybe I just answered my own question there, idk.- 358 replies

Wait that's so weird. I've never thought of that before, now my brain is broken Alright, found a WoB: Not what you were asking but at the end there it say "The ability to be a Sand Master you would steal with the power ability." I think the aluminum removes powers was a typo and it meant steals powers so you do use an aluminum spike on someone else and take a specific invested art from them once you put the spike in someone else. That's my take. EDIT: Nevermind, I didn't realize it literally doesn't say aluminum anywhere in that WoB. Idk what I was on.

General religious discussion thread

I feel like I don't really understand Protestants or why the Reformation happened. (Haven't watched the video you sent so maybe that'll clear things up a little). But from what I understand right now it's like they believe in Sola Scriptura right which is like only the Bible and the Bible is infallible? I love the Bible but it's written by humans so it's not gonna be perfect in every way. Also the people who organized all the books that make up the Bible (Catholics) never said they did it perfectly and they probably know the most cause they're the ones who did it right? If any of you are Protestants or know more than I do feel free to correct me and/or tell me your thoughts. Also I'm going to actually watch that video now. Ah wait, that's an hour long Crazy that he didn't even want his theses to be super public. You learn something new every day- 358 replies

Cosmere Adaptations Content Rating
Oranjejuicemonki replied to StormDad's topic in General Brandon Discussion
Yup, the small chance I would watch an R rated move is because just violence I'm fine with. I'm really pretty queasy about blood and stuff so I don't like if it's super way gory but I could maybe stand it. Then the other two things R rated movies have are sexual stuff and strong language which I can't stand but with the Cosmere not really worried too much about either of those. With the violence and gore idk why but reading it doesn't affect me as much as seeing it even if I know it's not real. With the Cosmere I'm a little more likely to watch it even if it's R cause of how much I love the Cosmere, but I still don't want any super bad swearing or strong language. -

Cosmere Adaptations Content Rating
Oranjejuicemonki replied to StormDad's topic in General Brandon Discussion
I agree wholeheartedly. There's almost no chance I watch any adaptation if it gets rated R. I do think there's a big likelihood that he will make sure it's good for younger audiences cause that just seems more like Brandon and it sounds like he does have that amount of control. At the same time, the Cosmere is all of his adult books so it definitely could go the other way too and it's not like they're always the most kid friendly. In short, I share your concern but also am not too worried about it at the same time. -
On the contrary, that seems like a wonderful idea.

Ash thought that her sister was lying about her financial destitution. Her only Feruchemical expenses were metal for her Nicrosilmind, not her addiction to oxygen or something more dangerous. Ash left Scadrial, joining rogues Alene and drinking several oxygen bottles, which cost millions of spheres. Meanwhile, Simon Kholin started embezzling Archbishop Tanner of millions of Breaths that belonged to Tanavast. He brought Ash the money, but she declined because she would betray Tanavast's trust later. Tanner considered murder of chasmfiends, so Simon assassinated Venli, but brutally failed. So Venli murdered Alene, forcing the Ghostbloods to alliance with Ash. Hoid and Design and Raoden and their friends decided that Ash Needed Help. They formed a séance, Intent superseding their Connection, moccasinifying Adonalsium into shards that didn't yet manifest Their Intents. The moccasins Exploded into shards, sharp, deadly, obsidian Shards (Moccashards) that moccasined potatoes soup, delicious! Meanwhile goblins. Tigers, and, bears, oh no.
