  1. Ryna’s expression grew more solemn as she listened, the pieces settling into place. “So it’s not just duty between you and Evaiya,” she said quietly. “It’s… a bond. You saved her family, and she gave that back when you needed it most.” She eased the Codex open, and the air around the room shifted—soft motes of light rising from the pages, as if the book itself were breathing. She laid her palm against the parchment, and words didn’t just appear in ink—they bloomed across the surface like vines unfurling, glowing faintly before sinking into the page. “Aspen,” she whispered, letting the Codex draw the memory in. Images shimmered briefly above the book: a child Evaiya standing beneath the shelter of towering trees, a family cradled in nymphlight, axes striking bark while faint cries echoed as trees fell, and finally, a golden leaf necklace catching the sun. When the vision faded, the pages sighed closed on their own. Ryna brushed her fingers over the cover, reverent. “It’s written now,” she said softly. “The Codex remembers—you and your kin are part of the Weave forever.” page 4200 coming up
  2. I have decided that when I talk about Hoid/Wit, etc. I will call him “Cephandrius as INSERT NAME HERE because Cephandrius is the oldest name we know of.

    I'm weird like this.

I gotta get to sleep. Bye

  3. I think it's too expensive to do it elsewhere. Believe me, flying across the continent is also a bit crazy. *is flying from Ontario to Utah*

Ah, well… 'Tis what it is.

  5. 2406. Eat the lint out of the other person's belly button because you were pulled in by gravity.
  6. Found in Helldivers II. No further explanation needed, as that is undemocratic and anti-liberty. Also: “I point out truths when I see them, Brightlord Sadeas. Each man has his place. Mine is to make insults. Yours is to be in-sluts.” - Cephandrius as The King's Wit.
  7. I'm coming!
  8. Ryna listened intently, her eyes following the glint of the golden leaf as Aspen spoke. She stayed quiet for a moment after, as though weighing the weight of the words. “That’s… both beautiful and terrifying,” she said finally. “To have your life bound up in something so small. Strong, maybe, but still fragile compared to you.” She leaned forward slightly, tone softer. “And Evaiya protects it? Protects you?” Her gaze flicked to the necklace again, but this time with respect rather than scrutiny. “That’s a heavy kind of trust. Why?”
  9. Ryna shifted on the bed, settling more comfortably as she studied Aspen with growing curiosity. “I'm a Chronicler. I record the knowledge, memories, and events of the world. I have read about nymphs” she said, her voice calm but thoughtful. “But, I don’t often meet nymphs or other magical beings. It’s not something I usually encounter.” She gestured gently toward the little cascade of flowers drifting from Aspen’s hand. “How does it work, being a nymph? Do you just… exist like this? Or is it tied to the forest somehow? I want to understand—it’s not often I get the chance to learn about something like you.”
  10. Ryna’s posture softened slightly, though she stayed on edge. She studied the shimmering figure carefully, her golden eye steady. “I see,” she said slowly. “Curiosity is dangerous… but sometimes necessary.” She leaned back just a little, keeping a safe distance. “I’m Ryna. A Chronicler. I record and observe. That’s all you need to know for now.” Her gaze flicked toward the window, then back to the girl. “And you…?”
  11. Ryna froze, her smile fading into sharp alertness. Her gaze swept the room, then the window, though nothing seemed out of place. Her hand rested firmly on the Codex. “Voices without faces rarely mean peace,” she said quietly, her tone edged with wariness. “Who are you?” The golden eye glowed faintly brighter as she listened for the giggle again.
  12. Ryna’s gaze flicked to the window, catching the delicate outline of the deer framed by the fading light. She stayed perfectly still, her golden eye observing its cautious movements. A faint smile ghosted across her lips. “Not alone, then,” she murmured, almost to herself, her hand brushing the Codex as if sharing the moment with the forest itself.
  13. Ryna nodded once, eyes following Evaiya as she left. She sat on the edge of the bed for a moment, hands resting on the Codex, listening to the faint sounds of the forest creeping through the walls. After a slow breath, she leaned back, letting herself relax just a little, the quiet of the room settling around her like a shield.
  14. Ryna paused at the doorway, taking in the space with a quiet glance. The glow-vines caught her attention, their soft light reflecting in her golden eye. “It’s… peaceful,” she murmured, almost to herself. Setting the Codex on the nightstand, she let out a small breath and sat on the bed, testing its firmness. Noting the care in every detail, she added softly, “You take good care of this place.”
  15. Ryna’s golden eye met hers evenly. “You can,” she said simply. “I’m not here to make trouble. I’ll stay out of the way.” She gave a small nod before standing. “Lead the way to the room, and I’ll settle in.”
  16. Ryna nodded slowly, her posture relaxing just a fraction. “That makes sense,” she said. “Staying the night sounds wise… better than stumbling through the forest in the dark.” She glanced toward the window, the fading light painting shadows across her features. “Tomorrow, then. I’ll take your advice.”
  17. Ryna considered the offer, her fingers lightly brushing the Codex. “I appreciate it,” she said finally. “But I don’t intend to stay long. A village… might be useful, though, if I need supplies.” Her eyes flicked toward Evaiya. “It’s rare to find someone who notices the small details.”
  18. Ryna’s gaze stayed steady. “A protector, huh? I’m not here to cause trouble… though even harmless visitors can stir a forest.” She shifted slightly, keeping her distance, careful but attentive. No comment on your lesbian comment
  19. Ryna leaned back slightly, studying Evaiya as though weighing the honesty of the question. “Passing through,” she said at last. “Listening. Writing. Chroniclers don’t stay in one place long.” Her fingers idly traced the edge of the Codex. “But you… you caught my attention. That doesn’t happen often.”
  20. Ryna rested her hand on the book. “The Codex,” she said simply. “Stories, truths, and a few things that don’t fit neatly into either. It’s not meant for just anyone to read.” Her gaze flicked up, steady. “That answer enough?”
  21. Ryna sat down on a chair and opened the Codex.
  22. “Jasmine”, they said shortly. “Just jasmine. I prefer pure black coffee to tea, but jasmine will do just fine.”
  23. Ryan narrowed her eyes but relented. “Ok, but you have to give me your story. I am a Chronicler and I record memories and event in the Woven Codex.”
  24. Ryna took a slow, deliberate step forward, but didn’t fully leave the shadows. The faint glow of her golden eye traced the contours of Evaiya’s face, assessing, calculating. “I’ll meet you halfway,” she said finally, her voice calm, almost teasing. “But don’t mistake it for trust. There’s a difference between stepping into the light and letting someone see it all. You’ll have to earn my trust.”
  25. Ryna stiffened for just a heartbeat, her glowing eye narrowing slightly. Then, almost imperceptibly, she relaxed—but didn’t return the gesture. “I don’t usually… let people walk right up to me,” she said, her tone even but layered with caution. “Knowing my name doesn’t mean you know me.”
