  1. Just a thought after re reading some facts on The Sunlit Man
  2. Spren are formed around people's perception of them, so maybe as time went on and people's perception of 'god spren' changed, those spren themselves also wanted to be the 'ones in charge'? People viewed them as the main Spren, so they in turned viewed themselves as such? And then they discouraged the bonding of old forces.
  3. Yeah, everything about this attack on the Ghostbloods is screaming bad idea. Happened in such a rush, minimal information, knowing that the organisation is sneaky. I know they have to act fast to get the drop on them, but if this goes well I will be surprised.
  4. I feel so silly that I never put the moon colours to the God colours before! Could it be as soap-opera a reason as Tanavast had an affair with a mortal and that made Cultivation mad enough to help Splinter him? Seems petty of her though. Unless, in keeping with the Cultivating theme, she chose to Cultivate the descendants of Tanavast into a new and better plant than Tanavast, and had to cut away to old to make room for the new?
  5. I've wondered about either this, or Nohadon being on the path to taking up Honor. The Stormfather has shown the vision to other people besides Gavilar and Dalinar, possibly not as far back as Nohadon though. But perhaps his abdication and walk were his way of testing himself to see if he felt worthy to take up a Shard and he decided not to?
  6. Danilar gets there after learning all the history and is juuuust about to pick it up, and it just flows away and Kal does it XD
  7. Very true, and I suppose the reader's viewpoint is coloured by how Sadeas has acted in WoK and WoR.
  8. Ahhh, thanks for this! I did wonder if it was all a fake out, or if it was a case of he wanted the Blackthorn gone AND he had help as well.
  9. Did we ever get confirmation in a WoB or anything on if Sadeas was the Highprince working with Tanalan?
  10. As cool as it would be to see her as a Mistborn, he only had one bead and he ate that himself. And at this point they haven't figured out how to make more Lerasium.
  11. I think it's just because he is trying to do so much all at once that his character's voices are getting all mixed up. He does write great things, but he doesn't focus on one thing at a time anymore. On the one had it could be great because he puts out so much content, but I've felt that that content is starting to slip in quality as a result. Some people love the more light feel to the dialogue, but for me personally it doesn't fit the genre. It works for Skyward or Rithmatist, but not Stormlight in my opinion.
  12. This is true, but you would think the tone would shift to more serious. I understand needing levity in a stressful situation, but this dialogue is feeling a lot more young adult style than adult fantasy.
  13. If he is, it would make his "Honor is dead, but I'll see what I can do." line all the more epic.
  14. Just a personal take, but I find the way Brandon writes Szeth to be very clunky. I know Szeth has his issues and is a flawed character, but even with that in mind it feels like Brandon doesn't have the understanding of how to write him like h does other characters. Especially in comparison to how smoothly other character's chapters flow. I did get a little of the same vibe with Kaladin, almost like now that Kaladin isn't as broken as before, Brandon doesn't know how to characterise that. This of course is just my personal opinion, not claiming it as fact
  15. Perhaps they died and that was the Shattering? They chose their own destruction over turning to the enemy?
  16. Oooo, I like this as a theory! Who do you think matches up with which city? Definitely Nergaoul with Kholinar.
  17. Where was the reference to Iriali? I must have missed that!
  18. He doesn't get the AonDor until Tress, which I believe is set during the Cosmere space age? So that's get another few hundred years into the future. And it was a few hundred years between becoming a Mistborn and getting Surgebinding. Was Yumi before or after Tress, does someone know?
  19. I hadn't considered that take of him taking comfort from it, but I like it! The fact that he has already outdone Gavilar and been better for Roshar, and that the Stormfather himself thinks he is better suited than his brother. (I'm also not on the Stormfaker train.)
  20. Part 1 of Stormlight takes place before Wax and Wayne, so we would be assuming that Hoid knew about Autonomy being present enough on Scadrial to form a metal before it was revealed in the books. Not too big a stretch considering how knowledgeable he is, but I feel like he would have told Sazed seeing as he an Bavadin have an animosity.
  21. Do we think Dalinar will ever find out what Gavilar really thought about him? And if he did, how would he react? Because Jasnah and Navani at least acknowledge that Gavilar had bad traits and saw it more, whereas Dalinar seems to still hero-worship his brother as of the latest chapters. Cuts me up a little inside to hear how Dalinar thinks of his brother vs how Gavilar thought of him.
  22. But if it was Taln wouldn't it be the burdens of 10? Including his own burden. It always didn't quite make sense to me for it to be Taln because of this. If it was him, surely it would read 'the burdens of the other nine join mine' or something like that. To me it makes more sense for it to be Ishar talking about his and the other 8 Heralds who abandoned the Oathpact. Also asking for a release it what would bring him back to Roshar, and we know that Taln didn't break.
  23. Rats, was hoping something had been revealed that I might have missed. I wonder what the limitations of it are, and if we will see people from as far back as Era 1 and Kriss in the Space Age. Only time will tell I guess!
  24. So Felt is from Era 1 Scadrial, which was hundreds of years before Stormlight part 1. (We know this because I'm sure I've read somewhere that Wax and Wayne is set between the halves of Stormlight and that is hundreds of years post Catacendre. How has he lived so long? Has Brandon done and WoB about this? Because Demoux is also an Era 1 lad who is worldhopping for the 17th Shard hundreds of years later and hasn't aged much in that time.
  25. I thought that opening a perpendicularity was a new thing after Honor's death? My understanding was that Ishar was only able to do that after seeing Dalinar do it and his failed attempt to take the bond with the Stormfather from Dalinar. But I might be reading it wrong.
