  1. Astrid elbowed him lightly. "Doesn't mean we can't do our best to be prepared."
  2. He hugged her gratefully, then pulled away again after a few moments and gestured to the rose. Which is still floating there, I assume? What do we do about the spirits? They haven't really done anything . . . and I'm not sure how to narrow down what they're here for. The crow glared at Tam. "He'd like that very much," she told Bat convincingly.
  3. "Well, the crow wants you to call him "Blademaster Fireball the Awesome," but I think that's a ludicrous name." The crow squawked angrily and had to Tam hide a smile. He sighed. It does mean that much to me. And . . . thanks. Sorry.
  4. I, still invisible, look at the note in outrage.
  5. They both gave him flat stares. "Uh, Bat? You gotta be more creative then that- oh hey, that rhymed. Nice." Gah! He grabbed her shoulders forcefully (but not too forcefully). No you won't! I won't let you! He seemed genuinely worried.
  6. Tam and the crow shared a glance. "Well, at least we can agree on that," she said to the bird. "That's a no, by the way," she said to Bat. His eyes narrowed. No. You. Won't.
  7. Granted! It's infuriatingly itchy, and distracts you so much that you don't notice that everyone loves you. I wish for some normal toast that I can eat.
  8. He pushed her away so he could look her in the eyes. No, you won't, he challenged. "I do now," she growled, glaring at the crow. The crow cawed mockingly at her and rested its head on top of Bat's. "Fine. Be that way."
  9. The Nightwatcher is confused about your wording, and gives you some little chess cookies. Oh, and for your bane, your toes disappear. I wish for some f r e s h t o a s t
  10. No. but uh No way I can pay that medical bill right now.
  11. His eyes went wide. What? No! Why would you- don't do that to yourself! Tam barked a laugh, then covered her mouth, realizing how rude that probably sounded. "Sorry!" she said sheepishly. The crow pecked her on the head. "Ow! I said I was sorry- so what if it was rude? It was an accident and I already- hey!" she said as it pecked her again. They stared at each other for a moment. Then Tam's eyes narrowed. "Now that's a rude thing to say," she huffed.
  12. *is fine now* I'm fine now *eats sugar tree*
  13. She sighed inwardly, then actually listened to the crow. It was slightly annoyed with her. "No. It's just some random noises that his parents liked." Hmph. He doubted that, but it was the thought that counted, right?
  14. *melts the rest* There. *uses hands to make a sugar tree* There we go. *burnt hands*
  15. *grabs blowtorch* *begins melting the sugar again*
  16. He hugged her back. I don't think you could, but thanks. She looked at the crow thoughtfully, pretending to listen to it. Bat wouldn't know the difference, after all. "He does," she said confidently, "but his name is in his own language, and you can't pronounce it. Why don't you give him a new one?"
  17. *sigh* At this point, why don't you just eat the sugar straight-up?
  18. I don't know if you can, but . . . I'd like that a lot. He tried to smile, but couldn't quite make it look genuine. "If I want to. Why?"
  19. Lol I know *waits with you* *side-hugs*

  21. Astrid stepped around to the back of the van, swinging her pack over her shoulder. She grabbed a pistol but left her more heavy duty weapons there. She didn't need them now. She also grabbed a flashlight, a heavy-duty hunting knife, and some extra magazines. She made sure she had a receiver and a camera.
  22. "Sugar, Glass" or "sugar glass"? lol Um that's fine
  23. Yeah . . . Heh Tam chuckled and turned the bird back to its normal color.
