  1. Presume we have a Twinborn that is capable of compounding, that swore the oaths. How could they use the investiture that they get from Preservation to use for surgebinding? Do we know that? Do we have some theories?
  2. As when Heralds die their bodies are send to Braize. And from what we saw with Kalak at the end of WaT, there is some reason to believe that souls can be healed during this transition a bit too. If you would take your time and search the Herald upon death each time. Could you spike them multible times?
  3. Perfect godmetals can be burned by anyone. Not only Mistborn.
  4. The weight shackles that were put on Nomad made his body heavier for him to move. But feruchemical iron does not work that way if I remember it correctly? If i remember it correctly the user does not feel the difference?
  5. Well depends on what you want to condense. Like raw materials. For example raw metal to transport.
  6. We saw in Wind and truth the first realy usage of Tension. For one you can make soft materials harder. Which can for example turn normal clothes in armor and bandages into swords and knifes. Which is a bit redudant for a Knight as they get plate and blade which is in most cases just better. But we see the fused as well using cord like objects to coil around them and compress. In the future it could be used, I believe, for transportational uses. It could maybe compress cargo and other objects to a more managable size. While the weight is not decressed probably. It could decreese its volume. Allowing for transporting more goods, depending on the weight of course. Or you could transport concealed objects. Like a spring-sword that is compressed to the size of a fingercup. The blade would need of course be build sufficiently for it. Similar to memory foam.
  7. At the end of book 4 nightblood clashwd with Ishins blade. And it chipped. Did Nightblood consume it or was flown away. Is there somewhere in the mountains a piece of honors godmetal lying around? A chunk in the perfect size for burning?
  8. I am open to them. I am currently reading Lord of Mystery, as it was recommended. But i am only chapter 3 so far.
  9. I have read the entirety of the cosmere so far. Read Cytoverse, Wheel of time, lightbringer, The Will of the many, KingKiller Chronicles, Runelords, Old kingdom. I have read some manga and manwha as well: Attack on Titan, Fullmetal Alchemist, witchhat atelier, Soul eater, fire force, gachikuta, Urban animal, city of blanks. Can anyone recommend me another hard magic system? Can be book, movie, manga, comic be anything. I was recommend „lord of mysteries“ but not too sure on webnovels.
  10. I imagine the bands as big, fat bracers that were pierced in his skin on his biceps. He wore them continiously and never put them down. How did his skin breath? That was probably realy stuffy and uncomfortable.
  11. We saw realy like 3-4 armor spren type. windspren can be equiped by other people and manipulate a bit of wind it seems. Creative spren can manifest more beads than can take forms. What do you think Logicspren or Gravityspren for example can do.
  12. Brandon mentioned that to get the powers of an Elantrian through hemalurgic spike, you would need to spike 1, for the power and 2 for the connection to Sel or the AonDor or whatever. Its not entirely clear if it is possible to spike a person multible times, to steal something from them. So far we have not seen it and it is more implied that it is not possible, but with the development of the metalic arts, who knows? So if you would spike 2 different Elantrians and take from one the power and from the other the connection, would you have identity contamination problems?
  13. If I understand resonance right. Its the frequent use of 2 or more invested arts that can create a hybrid art. Generally if you have too many arts, that resonance is less likely. And if you accomplish a resonance, you will not loose it when you gain more invested arts. An example of that is Wax Steelbubble. A resonance of a-steel and f-iron. or the windrunners reverse lashing. A resonance between Gravity and Adhesion. So my question is, what kind of interesting Resonances can you come up with? Do you believe that a resonance of Zephyr-Ather (air) and F-Cadmium (storing of breath) could allow you to shoots gases that you have breathed in and stored? Like you breathed in accidently a huge load of Carbonmonoxide or another poisounas gas, stored it in a metalmind to not get poisoned and than released it through you aether?
  14. I am relistening to Sunlit Man. And there is a part in the story, where explictly rhe driving force behind Sigzils power are not his oaths bit the promises that he intents to keep. The promise to Aux. Similar to the theme of the Deadeye spren and that they can live on as a promise rather than oaths.
  15. Do you think in the future you could transfer stored power inside a metalmind into an awakend object? Especially one from the same user. As both have the same identity maybe through connection or some soul trickery? Maybe make the soul believe the awakened cloak is an extension of the body? Like how Vasher ushered a command that made the cloak act as his hand, maybe you could transfer power that you for example get from tapping a pewtermind?
  16. Can Kandra take over the skelet of a Singer and put a spren inside their gemheart? If you would capture an Ancient one inside a perfect Gemheart and put it inside an Illuminium coated Vaccuum tube, would the investiture be cleansed like how they did with Stormlight in the Tower? If yes, what would happen if a Singer bonds with that Ancient one than? Would they get the powers of the ancient one without loosing their personalities? Would the same happen to spren from forms of power, like Stormspren? Do you think it likes in the realm of possiblity that in the future, humans somehow manage to implement a gemhearts inside them, ever through hemalurgy or some form of surgery and thereby get forms of power too?
  17. I believe that Leeching can remove once potential Investiture, like metals and stormlight. But I believe Sanderson mentioned that leeching can stop the summoning of a shardblade, which is an kintetic form of investiture. So how can Wax tap if he shouldn‘t by my understanding.
  18. We know that only natural born twinborns or a Fullborn could compound. With Hemalurgy you have identity contamination unless you somehow manages to remove the identity from a spike or the spiked (but that is another toppic) But what happens to metalminds that are reforged? For example what would happen if Wax took one of his ironminds, made them to steel and than burned it? I believe Sanderson has mentioned that the investiture does not get lost or at least all of it, but gets inaxcecable. But what if you can burn the same metal? Identity contamination should not be an issue right?
  19. A couple of months ago I made a post to discuss possible impressions that people get when they get the possibility of witnessing a Shard. We got some of these already. Odium was described as the screams of a thousand warrios, the greatest ecstazy of a thousand kisses and the unending hatred like the burning sun. Preservation was described as the untouched stone that stands through the ages or the deep depths of the ocean that never seem to change or be touched by the light. Riun was described as the withering wind that makes everything crumble over time. Time incernated to rip darkness itself apart. In WaT I believe where mentioned how Honor and Cultivation looked but I cannot remember or find the passage. In case not, my proposal for Honor would be: It sounds like steel and iron, that bends but never breaks. When swords clashes in an honorable duel or when chains are put one losers of a battle. The weight of a crown a king has to wear. The feeling of a promise fullfilled and the comradory of your sword brothers when you fight in battle. Cultivation is a bit easier to imagine. Lucious forests that grow far and wide. The foodchain of a bird eating seats than being hunted by a fox and lastly the foxs dying of an infected wound. It can be the farmers crops that he uses to feed his family which than grows bigger. But I could imagine that Cultivation stands for more abstract terms as well. Like a a lord growing his wealth or a person training to become the best academic there is, though the last one could be Autonomy as well. I like to make the intents/impressions to be ambigious. For one having a human element but as well a natural element. Being nether straight out bad or good. What do you think could be the others? Some ideas that I have: Autonomy could be the feeling of loneliness and isolation but as well the pride of being at the top. To have something accomplished through your means against the odds. It can be the crushing sounds of a silent forest, that is than penetrated by a twig breaking. Silent by its nature, if it would happen in the city, but penetrating and taking the focus of all forest creatures. Devotion would be most akin to love. The love for a father and mother for their children. The love for a lover. But as well the love for your believs and maybe god. So strong that it blinds one and makes one loyal and devoted to the core. The rage and feeling of justifaction for the cruelty you inflict on others in the name of your love. It could be the axions that with all their might strive against being seperated. While Honor binds things, its devotion that holds them together.
  20. I presume warlight will probably replace it. We saw some interactions of lights being interchanged like Leshvi using Stormlight and Towerlight being used.
  21. We know 2 of the 4 dawnshards names. Change and exist. Noteworthy is that Change is considered in a positive way. To be better and adapt. Many believe that one of the 4 than is something akin to destroy. Plausible. Not sure but possible. But that leaves the possibility of the 4th one open. It was multible times build the bridge that the splintering of the shards into 16 parts is in corelation to the 4 shards. That the numbers are important to each other and a lot of people have put the possiblity of FEELINGS as one of the names. But I don't like it. So my possible name would be MEANING. It was multible times mentioned in the books how much the perspective of a person changes the outcome of the story. Sometimes literaly as the cognitive aspect can be changed by the believs of many. It as well mentioned that just existing is not enough, Just like Skar or Darkeyes. They have to have meaning into their lifes. To make it meaningfull. Like emotions, rules, society and much much more. So my ppick is MEANING.
  22. Based on the things retrubiotion said. He could have taken a big chunk of investiture of Roshar, but was stopped because of the oath. Could a shard leave and take all investitrue from a planet with them? (If its their investiture) I am kinda now interested in a cosmere novel of a planet with such ramifications. Like a dried oout land where now the people fight for the last remnants of the magic of their world.
  23. This is a bit of a crackpot theory, that came to me with how connection worked in WaT. Especially like how isshins powers work. So, we know how busted a bondsmith is and there is no equal directly in the cosmere. Only few abilites could maybe recreate some abilites that a Bondsmith can. And I thought about duralumin twinborn. Especially those that can compound. For one do you think if such a person would come close to a perpendicularity on Scadrial, they could make a connection to that via compounding and than tapping duralumin to empty their metalminds ad thereby making a huge connection blast. And could they through shenanignas connect themselfs to other Mistings and use their power. But not in the sense that they become Mistings of that metal themselfs. But more when the connected misting is burning metal, the power of preservation is told what to do. So through a connection they could maybe redirect the power to the duralumin twinborn. They would not have the ability to burn metals but could maybe use the powers of the outcome with the confirmation of the Misting perhaps.
  24. Precisely!
  25. I have a crackpot theory that, it has something to do with how someone can change through perception. Sanderson has admitted that the physical aspect of ones person can change over time, through the perception that over people have over them. But that would be a very slow and almost undiscovarble process. Only somebody already immortal could experience it. And I think their heroic epoch and the legends that build around them for 1000s of year, including their close proximity to divinity, made them "evolve" and become closer to their cognitive and spiritual self. Thereby they are closer to the spiritual realm, where they can get access to these powers. And maybe even some form of connection build with the planet.
