    Heheheh, having completed my first high school course (Health) I think I can say I'm a part of this group now. Basically, I chose all the advanced classes for my first year of high school; many of them require work to be done over the summer, and in one instance an entire course, because taking AP Human Geo leaves no room in the school year to do Health (normally you take regular Geography one semester and Health the next but APHG is a full year).

    I would be surprised if there was anybody on the Shard who is part of the Silent Generation or earlier, although it is possible to put your birthdate as early as 1875 on your profile, which would put you in the... Missionary Generation I believe? I guess the 17th Shard is prepared in case Ethel Caterham joins (although she is a member of the Greatest Generation).

      I have spite for (intentional and unintentional) misogynists who use critique of her character as a platform for misogyny. I could go on an angry rant about this, but I hope it's not necessary. No, Tauriel is not a very well written character, but including a named female character in an adaptation of a book that doesn't have ANY is a good, if not necessary, thing. We can change stuff in adaptation if the og has flaws from being a product of it's time.

      In the end I don't even like her that much, I just find myself alone in the fact that I didn't think she was terrible. I liked some of her scenes. I didn't like some of the others. People view media with such a black and white lens these days and it's really frustrating. Media exists that isn't garbage and that isn't a masterpiece, and it's okay to enjoy it and appreciate the good parts. I find myself defending her on principle, for the sake of defending having a nuanced opinion on mediocre pieces of media in general.

    The Greenspine wasn't happy to follow the Gamemaker's orders, but it wasn't as foolish as its predecessor, the Redspine, was: recklessly joining the tributes it was supposed to hunt and asking another tribute to kill it so that it could further defy the Gamemakers. The Greenspine didn't have the same flaws as the Redspine. It wasn't hindered by foolish emotions. But the Gamemakers didn't intend the Greenspine to be smart, ruthlessly smart. So far, it hadn't revealed its plan. It wasn't about to now. For now, the Greenspine would continue to work under the Gamemakers, until its chance came to escape. The Greenspine rushed at Squall, claws bared, vines shooting to its sides to prevent him from dodging or running around it. The only thing Squall could do was attack, or run the opposite way. Towards the other tributes. @TheRavenHasLanded
