"Oh, I'd prefer if you didn't arrest me," Rye said. "The number of times I was captured in Shenai exceeds what I can count on my fingers."
"So, are we going somewhere?"
"Well," said the leader of the guards, "If you see him around, be sure to turn him in. Goes by 'Rye'. Thank you for your time." The soldiers shuffled out of the tavern. Rye exhaled slowly.
"Hey guys," he said finally. "I'm back."
The door slammed open as a large gang of soldiers entered. They wore little armor and bore long rifles like the ones Rye had created instead. They looked very foreign.
"We are looking for a witch," the leader said. Rye exhaled beneath his hood. "He is small and gangly and will be trying to hide himself. Please return him to us unharmed. He is needed."
At the back of the group of soldiers. Sutter grinned.
