  1. It's so weird. Like, last night, it was my first opportunity to run Skyrim. I loaded up the program around 9:30, spent a little time customizing my character's appearance. I was nice and careful going through the intro dungeon, collecting stuff I needed, looking for other hidden stuff that could be useful, and then got to the first town. All in all, it was pretty quick. But then I looked at the clock and saw it was midnight. My computer is a Pulser. That's the only rational explanation. >_>
  2. If that actually were the case, then TLR would have been an idiot to just leave it laying around instead of locking it up somewhere safe.
  3. No, nobody noticed that at all. ^_~
  4. Fortunately, it's not the actual passwords. Depending on what the TWG admins used to encrypt the passwords, odds are nobody has anything to worry about regarding password security. Though, I guess it could mean an influx of spam for those email addresses. What do you mean by "technical problems"?
  5. It's probably more like he can't work with aons while on Roshar. Someone asked Brandon why the Seons were affected by the Shaod, and he said something along the lines of the Shaod causing a change in the person, which causes a change in the Seon. I imagine that the change is permanent, and not something that can be undone except by the pool. So he (or Raoden) probably just cast an illusion on his clothing to make him look like his pre-Shaod self, but he's limited to mundane actions while away from Elantris.
  6. If you're suggesting he may be a kandra, I have my doubts. We haven't seen any evidence that kandra can be given allomantic - of even feruchemical - abilities via Blessings. (Though, admittedly, Harmony could have changed that.) Personally, based upon the chapters from Wayne's perspective, I think that's just a talent of his.

Awesome. Thanks for that. That's one theory we don't have to worry about now. Possibly just the ramblings of a crazy man, but since we know that Marsh at least actually is out there with nails in his eyes, it makes me wonder if this was all part of the setup. Either that, or Tan broke the fourth wall and saw Brandon.
  8. Very awesome. /me thinks for a second. So, this would be Skai's Shard, yes? We were already told that Aona's shard was "something like devotion" (paraphrasing), correct? That would mean this would be Skai's. (And it makes sense to me, at a cursory glance.)
  9. Well, if hemalurgy were able to give, say, an Elantrian the ability to burn allomantic metals, that would mean hemalurgy would work on an Elantrian. And if the door can swing one way, it can probably swing both ways.
  10. I just saw this at the bottom of Slashdot's page: "Chaos is King and Magic is loose in the world."

  11. Definitely keep reading. Many of your questions get answered later on, and if I understand what you're referring to regarding the deus ex machina, I believe that gets explained a bit, too. Welcome aboard!

You know, I'm slowly revising my opinion of SazedHarmony in this new book. In the original trilogy, I'm pretty sure I would consider Sazed to be something along the lines of Chaotic Good. Harmony, however, I'm starting to see more like a True Neutral. I'm starting to think that it's possible for Harmony to do something that Sazed might have considered "evil" or "not quite good" because Harmony isn't striving for "good" goals like Sazed was. To bring this back on topic, I could certainly see Harmony setting someone up to be a Seer, having Marsh give that Seer atium, and nudging that person along a path towards the destruction of the obstacle that's keeping Harmony's champion in the Roughs rather than where Harmony wants him to be - in Elendel.
  13. I'm able to access it fine.
  14. Ooh, I totally glossed over that. Thank you. That's a good point.
  15. I would definitely be interested in a pin. Could be useful at signings. "Are you from the Sev- oh, yes, I see you are."
  16. I've tried to put together everything we know about Trelagism in its wiki page. It's not much, admittedly, but that's pretty much all we have.
  17. Would this be like folding space as if it were a sheet of cloth, so that you could get from one corner to the other without actually having to travel across the whole length of the cloth? I was also wondering if you could elaborate on the time travel part. If this function is related to spacefolding, then I've definitely never heard that time travel could potentially happen, and that makes me interested.
  18. Speaking of pins, what about 17S pins? Or would those be too expensive to have made?
  19. It's also the same symbol used for the prologue in MB1 and MB3. A similar spike is used in the epilogue of MB2, but it's definitely distinct from the prologue spikes.
  20. Ha. So that makes Wax Harmony's Champion - he'll preserve order, but via means that leave lots of collateral damage.
  21. Almost reminds me of a joke that a friend of mine had for a truly True Neutral character in an RPG: Town hires your party to clear a nearby mine of a goblin infestation. For every goblin the TN character kills, he should sneak back into the town at night and kill a townsperson. Now with Sazed, of course, it's not a balance between good and evil, it's a balance between preservation and ruin. Applying the above concept, I wonder if Harmony is trying to keep a tally - "Helped this guy knock some stuff over, over here, now I need to help this guy keep the peace, over there."
  22. Elendel Basin Map: Longitudinal lines (from left to right): Iron, Lerasium, Iron, Steel, Tin Latitudinal lines (from top to bottom): Atium, Malatium, Gold, Electrum, Chromiun, Nicrosil Also note how the Elendel Basin is (appropriately) in the northern hemisphere of Scadrial - you can tell because you can see on this map that the meridians converge as they move to the top of the map. Edit: The Line of Lerasium runs right through Elendel. I propose that the Canton of Cartography is using the lerasium glyph to denote Scadrial's Prime Meridian. (Edit 2: Because, y'know, it's bookended by Iron on each side. One would be East Iron, the other would be West Iron.)
  23. dar-NEEL I made up the name for my first Amber:DRPG character while I was in either 10th or 11th grade. (So, anywhere from '93-'95.) In one of my history classes, we were taught about Jacob Riis, and the teacher pronounced his last name REES. I thought it was cool how a double-i made that sound, so I stole it knowing I would use it in a name at some point. Up until recently, this name has always pointed to me on the 'nets. However, I discovered in the past year that it has somehow made its way into someone's ebook.
  24. Which also seemed weird to me. I can buy that for the Second Generation and up, but the Firsts were originally human. And we have evidence that they retained their human memories. So, when TLR changed the feruchemists, he altered them somehow so that they not only could not be fully sentient without the Blessings, but also so that they would retain their memories from when they were human? I guess that would mean that the Blessings may not contain something that grants sentience, but maybe they're more like switches in a circuit - when the circuit is open (no Blessings), there is no sentience; when the circuit is closed (Blessings), there is sentience.
