I'm gonna take a crack at this, but @DrPhysics just in case. A basic force formula is Force=(mass)(acceleration) and a quick Google search says that the average weight of a fully grown man is about 200lb, and including muscle mass and carapace increases that to about ~275lb. The distance of 20ft isn't our feet as one Rosharon inch is about 0.92 of our inches, giving the kick @alder24 mentioned (I think the horizontal distance was 20tf) a total distance of ~261in. The formula for acceleration is a change in velocity over a change in time (a=^v/^t) time is uncertain, so I don't know how to calculate that, but I would say it would take about two or three seconds, and he moved a total of 21ft, so a change in velocity of ~7ft/s. Converting to metric we get 125kg, 0.71m/s^2, multiplying these we get 89 Newtons. Something about these numbers feels wrong, but I'm not in an actual physics class and could be doing this wrong.

So we know that Moash has it, it has been "corrupted" to Odium maybe? Was it taken up when Retribution was formed? This might be important for the future.

I doubt that a gemstone can be used by Mistings or Ferrings, maybe Mistborn and full Feruchemists, but who knows. Silver does seem to react with Investiture, but so far not the Metalic Arts, again not sure. The thing about the eyesight is cool, we have ironsight as seen in Inquisitors, and Moash with (spensight?) I think you don't need perfect gems because of the Law of Hemalurgic Decay, it won't really matter I guess. I do want to add my two clips here: someone like Rock, or Rock himself was killed, to make these spikes.

Good book. Loved a lot of this book, and huge implications for the cosmere as a whole. But first, my thoughts: 1. My almost immediate thought upon reading the book, was that Kaladin used SUGAR, on SWEET carrots, after feeling uncomfortable tracing Syl to write. Funny oversight, understandable. I say we now have the Stick and the Carrot (only half joking) 2. Interesting lore about Ashyn kinda sad how much potential content is lost (Pre Rashek Scadrial, Ashyn, etc.) 3. Loved Kaladin getting an Honorspear, but is Syl a Herald now? She held the Spear with Kaladin so...? She is even more like a god, poor Rock. 4. We now know that Era 1 Stormlight ends right after:AoL spoilers, but not really ig Now some theories! 1. I will make a theory about Moash's new eyes in the other section to prevent spoilers. 2. Retribution is interesting, weird how everyone knew his new name immediately. 3. The new Oathpact works once, then all Spren WILL die, as Retribution can then immediately consume them all. I want Kal and Kel in a room together...

Shai spent a lot of time studying the arts she Forged herself to know. She knew how to paint, so she knew how the painting would have looked when she finished, so she convinced they wall by describing exactly what it looked like. She had to infiltrate a society to learn their martial arts. If you knew how to make the stamp more detailed in the first place, why not care the stamp that way. Analogy: you aren't telling the table that it looks nice, you are telling it that the wood was polished and people prevented mold growing in it. It is redundant

A slight problem with the 17th Shard
Grubfriend replied to AltonicKeys's topic in 17th Shard Discussion
Cool logo! Why does it look like a Cryptic? Coincidence, I think not! -
Project Hail Mary is a pretty good Sci-Fi, and I know some people who like the Three Body Problem

Nightblood: The Ultimate Theory
Grubfriend replied to CtrlAltDepressed's topic in Cosmere Discussion
I found a WOB that seems to say it was steel But steel can't steel Breaths (hehe) it can only steal physical Allomancy. For some reason steel lets Nightblood do what he does I think there are mentions of how because Awakening stuff that was never alive is weird because it doesn't follow the same laws or thoughts we have. Might have been in Warbreaker in reference to Awakening those things but still fits I think. -
Maybe the cubes have small pieces of Harmonium, and use drains them, and somehow they can be opened and recharged.

Might also be why Wayne has to tap smaller amounts of healing when he is running low, I was actually confused about that.

I actually have an issue with Trellium splitting Harmonium. Its Intent is independence, and is repelled by other Investiture, so why is it that it's repelling effect does something that a simple knife can't? What I think is that the Harmonium is heated up so you are more pushing the two pieces apart rather than cutting, and the Blade is cutting the actual Connection between Preservation and Ruin in the metal. Blades are Honor and Cultivation, while Harmonium is Ruin and Preservation, so they aren't a single God metal, but still only God Metals. This isn't Lerasium alloyed with something, it's the same scenario. Sorry I am only now responding to this. The physical "splitting" is really just symbolic, I do realize the whole IrI rule (we should coin this as Investiture resists Investiture since it's used so much) The split would be more a side effect of the Connection being split. And why can't a Blade do what Trellium can randomly do?

A Stormlight Anime/Animated series
Grubfriend replied to ruler of the mists's topic in Stormlight Archive
I do feel like the cosmere would work better in an animated form, as scenes like summoning a Blade or Plate would be impossible level action without CGI, and then you might as well make it animated instead. -
Story time! I heard something that certain groups of people can identify a specific color from a similar one because they have a word for it. They have a word because it is important enough or common enough that is can be identified. TLR probably had these effects, but he might not have noticed them, and if he did he wouldn't know what it was. I think the discrepancy between these effects is because raw Investiture itself can boost you physically, as seen in MSH, but it takes magnitudes more probably because it isn't specifically doing something so you get the side effects. Whereas Hemalurgy is literally altering your spiritweb, which alters you directly.

Writing on the Taln endsheet art?
Grubfriend replied to External Gills's topic in Stormlight Archive
Maybe in WaT they give us pictures of a piece of Dawnchant and we can go from there... -
Is it just me or is Dalinar gonna die?😳

Wait that might be Kaladin and Tein should I remove it? -

Grubfriend replied to BenKenobi7333's topic in Stormlight Archive
Welcome to the Shard! If you could make an intro post to list what you have and haven't read it can help us avoid spoilers, and introduce yourself to the community. Dalinar will fight Odium, unless something happens and he can't fight. There are theories based around death rattles to predict the outcome, a popular one is Odium chooses a baby as his champion and Dalinar can't bring himself to kill it. Here are some Death Rattles that I think apply. These are all the ones I can think of that apply. -
Have you played any of the Zelda games?

Writing on the Taln endsheet art?
Grubfriend replied to External Gills's topic in Stormlight Archive
The glyph at the very bottom is a stylized version of the order he adopted, to no surprise. I'm gonna have to guess it is the Dawnchant, but we have no images of any letters in that language so...take it with a pinch of copper? -
In OB, Jasnah says that Stormlight has a faint mass to it, and mass*gravity=weight so would a gemstone on Roshar get lighter because the Stormlight is leaking out? Granted, it's probably not a lot of weight, but still quite a bit. There is also a similar concept for metalminds. Thoughts?
-
I feel like with the right Intent, you would split the Connection between Ruin and Preservation that is represented in Harmonium. Granted, it is very Investiture dense, but maybe the physical object doesn't have to be split, just the Connection between the two metals.
-
My friend told me this theory, or we came up with it together (I don't remember) but they don't have an account so I'll post it. Can a Shardblade split Harmonium? I've heard things about how Wax made Lerasium because he intended to not do anything with it. He simply wanted to know if it could be done. When the kandra did it, they wanted to use the Lerasium so they instead got Atium. So Intent matters in the metal you get. Instead of Trellium, could a Sharblade be used as the thing splitting the metal? I know cutting the metal when it is heated only produces Harmonium, but the special properties of a Blade could split them. I'm not to sure, anyone have ideas on this?

I'm doing another TFE read through for fun and noticed that when Kell at one point mentions how he doesn't know how to kill TLR he says people cut off his head, and that only annoyed him. Did he have goldminds on his head, or was this maybe a rumor to make him seem like God?
