  1. My dad: You're obviously depressed and are showing symptoms like being tired all the time, insomnia, really low energy, aching, and low appetite, and you have a really hard time waking up and getting up on time for school on 5 hours of sleep on average. So how can I help you with this?

Me: I don't know maybe anti-depressants and an actual structured routine supported by my parents, which neither seem to be willing to help with?

My dad: Nope, absolutely not. If you don't try harder and just do better, I'll just send you to a military school for six months! That's obviously the solution!

    Me: (-_-)

    Spoiler

He only really says how can I help and I need to just do better, but he knows about all the other stuff so I would think he'd understand how to help especially considering he's a medical professional and struggles with depression too, but I've practically begged my parents to help me out by establishing a routine, or at least a regular sleep schedule, but they just...don't and it's really frustrating

    Spoiler

Just to be clear, there are many reasons I am not going into the military, so going to a military school is definitely something I don't want at all

      Seriously.

"Yes of course! Why didn't I think of it before! If I just take these vitamins, I'll be cured of a major neural chemical imbalance and also be free of crushing thoughts of the existential dread of living!"

      Sarcasm is good for venting

      haha, exactly

I mean, it might partly be my fault because I don't really talk to them about it often (due to reasons above), but they do know I think it's bad enough that I could get a diagnosis for it. For the most part they're chill enough about it, but sometimes it's kind of hard to bear.

I don't think it's really your fault for not talking to them about it. In my experience, it's not worth talking to parents because they pull the ol' older and wiser card. It just ends up not being worth the energy because they just forget or something
