  1. I think most of us have already theorized that Honor would return. It will be interesting to see how it’s done. And it will certainly be exciting to see just how much an unchained bondsmith can do. Hopefully Brandon doesn’t rob us of the possibilities. This book is definitely going to be worth the wait.
  2. Hoid: Is the hillbillies
  3. Yeah you’ll see what I mean when you get to the epilogues.
  4. So it seems that there is an inherent ability of a properly charged spike through the eyes that does this. Have you read TLM? Because there’s a part of that that sheds some light here.
  5. Starspren for Skybreakers is possible. Starspren are rare but also a lot larger so you probably wouldn’t need as many to make a full set of Plate. Historically, Bondsmiths haven’t had Blades or Plate, but times have changed so it’s possible. The others make sense. It’s possible there is a Stonespren, likely originating from the Shin worship of stone, for the Stonewards, or Painspren work as well.
  6. We know the spren that make Plate for two of the orders, and I can think of a few more that might be the spren of other orders. Windrunners: Windspren Elsecallers: Logicspren Edgedancers: Lifespren Lightweavers: Creationspren Dustbringers: Decayspren/ Rotspren Skybreakers: Gravitationspren Those are all I can come up with, and it leaves three orders that have Plate. Any ideas?
  7. The thing with the oaths is that, Honor wasn’t really about Honor. Towards the end, Honor only cared about Oaths being kept, not what they were about. And the Stormfather’s indifference to the plights of individuals at times echoes this. So the Stormfather would likely still accept oaths with slightly less than honorable intent. Also, Spark initiating the bond for vengeance doesn’t mean Malata swore her oaths for vengeance. The spren doesn’t control the intent of the oaths.
  8. You'd need to carry the strings with you since spren can only form a single solid piece.
  9. It's difficult to say. Maybe it's possible to steal something else with a metal, but that seems unlikely. Perhaps TLR did give some of his kandra feruchemy but didn't tell them? Perhaps Reluur switched spikes at one point, or took an extra pair like TenSoon. There are many possibilities as to why he has these unique spikes.
  10. Sylspear does work the same as a normal Shardblade. We're talking about possible impacts of blunt Shardweapons that don't have Blades to “cut” the soul. Shardfork could cut the soul. I would like to see someone get stabbed with the Shardfork to be honest.
  11. Maybe it would just be like blunt force trauma to the spirit web. Like how the Blades cut the spirit instead of the body, the blunt objects smash the soul instead of the body? And maybe it needs to pierce the skin to access the soul like how hemalurgy needs to do the same?
  12. She's broken their minds. They don't have the will to break her control so she doesn't need to maintain her allomancy. And, in any case, if that is connection it occurs after she takes control, so storing connection would not help to resist.
  13. I don't think it's exactly forming connections. It's more a manipulation of the cognitive through the cracks formed by hemalurgy. You use the same principles as emotional allomancy, simply on a level that manipulates actions rather than emotions, overpowering the will of the individual to do anything other than what you say. Tapping determination from electrum would allow them to resist though.
  14. So bronze stores wakefulness. Stormlight invigorates you. I’m not sure if this means a surgebinder doesn’t need to sleep while holding stormlight, but if it does storing wakefulness would be much easier. Some of the same problems might arise with this idea as did with a previous one regarding storing strength from Light in pewter. Perhaps stormlight simply perfect the body’s limits, making it so sleep isn’t necessary merely by being able to ignore it. However, that would still potentially make the storing of wakefulness easier, just as using stormlight could make storing strength easier.
  15. Even if Stormlight doesn’t directly increase strength it would at least allow for the Feruchemist to store more strength more easily since the stormlight would keep them invigorated while they stored larger amounts of strength. And I think stormlight adds a small amount of strength simply by virtue of the fact that the muscles can take more strain from more force exerted, so you are technically stronger.
  16. So stormlight doesn’t contribute an absurd amount of additional strength, but it does strengthen the body a little bit. So could pewter Feruchemically store that bit of extra strength the same way it could store magical strength from Allomantic pewter? I feel that it could but maybe someone has information that I am not privy to which says otherwise.
  17. Shard(s): Devotion and Dominion Method of Access: Some form of pure investiture. Dor is best but stormlight or breaths can work. Powers: Allows manipulation of other magics by converting pure investiture into the necessary keyed form. Only one ability can be accessed at once. For instance, if you are keying the investiture to allow you to have the powers of pewter ( this does not require metal, only investiture), and then you switch to surgebinding with, say, the surge of gravitation, you'll stop having pewter. The ability comes with a natural healing factor and requires a small amount of knowledge about the magic you want to use. Cost: It can warp the spiritweb to make you think you only have the power you're using if only one power is maintained too constantly. This causes you to lose the ability to change powers.
  18. Yes you can have a high speed projectile, but if you’re not close enough to the target the can move out of the way. Same does apply to steel, but it’s a lot easier to send a large number of projectiles, and change the direction they come from just by moving while you push them. Both abilities are very powerful. And I may have a slight bias towards steel Allomancy because I just like the power better and like reading about it’s use more.
  19. Gravitation is clearly the better flight ability, since even without the resonance with adhesion it allows flight in any direction in a straight line, and can be increased or decreased in speed and power, allowing for very good directional manipulation and overall flight. Steel can get you some height, as can iron with a good anchor, but they only allow for a certain amount of power to be applied and don’t allow for as good of directional changes, on their own at least. Together steel and iron work pretty well in flight, but not as good as gravitation. Combat wise, however, gravitation is perhaps not the most effective. Without shards, all that it allows you to do is manipulate your enemy to fly in various directions, which isn’t the best killing method in enclosed space. It works in the open with space to throw them into the air, killing them on the way back down, but otherwise it’s not the best. Steel on the other hand allows you to throw projectiles with varying effectiveness at your enemy, and lets you see any source of metal coming. Iron let’s you see metal as well, and can let you pull enemies towards you. So I think steel is more effective as a combat ability, but iron perhaps is not because it’s not nearly as offensive. Gravitation works best with another surge and shards, and isn’t always the best on its own.
  20. I’d go human, lerasium mistborn, Feruchemist, bag of atium, third ideal Windrunner, and 2nd heightening. 0+300+192+300+200+4=996
  21. Yeah they may sense the reserves, and if you explained it well enough they might be able to grasp the concept, but I’m not sure they’d be able to think to burn it on their own. It’s really impossible to say but that’s just how I think it would be
  22. I meant mental capacity. Koloss wouldn’t think to burn metals. Maybe they could do it instinctively, but it seems that even most allomancers don’t do that,( after vin is injured by the inquisitor Kelsier says he wasn’t sure if she would instinctively burn her metals) and they know about their powers. Maybe it could happen with the Koloss, and I’m underestimating them, but it seems unlikely to me.
  23. I think it's more likely that, rather than causing any piece of steel to grant speed instead of steel Allomancy, it may make you a steel ferring. I think causing the investiture to come through as a Feruchemical charge in any metal wouldn’t work because Feruchemy is of both preservation and ruin, and lerasium just manipulates connection to preservation.
