I do see the mechanical aspects of some of the shard metals, but I do want to point out 3 things. Elantrians may be made out of shard metal, as shard metal is only a material so highly invested it is no longer what it was. Lerasium’s mistborn-ing is a side effect Pure (refined is the word) atium is what the inquisitors used, and therefore has been seen (Khris has it wrong in the ars arcanums)

Frustration's Firepower Index: Scadrial

Didn’t see that quote, there is a similar one saying there are ways to fuel awakening with SL. -
How did Kelsier lose his powers?
IlstrawberrySeed replied to TheWanderer's topic in Cosmere Discussion
Good could have light weaved the memory over his surroundings and filled the coppermind himself. Also, from my understanding, cognitive shadows are not the souls of people, but imprints in investiture that lasts after the soul goes to the beyond. Since Kel didn’t go to the beyond, he would still be himself, not a CS. Otherwise, the conversations with Pres/Harm in shadesmar are useless.- 31 replies

Frustration's Firepower Index: Scadrial
IlstrawberrySeed replied to Frustration's topic in Cosmere Discussion
I mean availability of investiture. An allomancer on roshar probably wouldn’t need metals, similarly to how awakened don’t need breaths, and returned consume SL. -
Treamane, my understanding based on what I quoted is that the charge will run out while compounding, such that the metal size doesn’t matter other than maximum.

Who’s Felt again? -
I think he means that the pits are no longer the location of the atium formations, rather the area known as hathsin (likely named after the pits) to the north of the basin is where the atium would grow. However, the Atium grew because of geological interference with the perpendicularity, and we know there is only 1 perpendicularity on Scadrial. My guess is that the investiture is being trickled down to perpendicularity, and when it joins it starts to “corrupt” Sazed. Of course, this doesn’t answer the question of why he doesn’t just invest using only ruin a little, probably to make atium for marsh, possibly atium-electrum already completely full. Not only would this prevent discord, but if he unbalanced it towards preservation, he could twist the intent to preserve the current power balance, and allow himself to preserve by ruining, more actively helping in the plots.

Frustration's Firepower Index: Scadrial

I believe that Missile has multiple definitions, one of which is correct for the way he is using it, another being the smart targeting. I’ve always heard missile more as “air born projectile,” with the exceptions marked as you have. Frustrated, I also think that you could mark the investiture levels (Roshar being the current highest I think) and current Trend on invested individuals (down in PpM, perhaps up in P), but the later is kind of the speculation you want to stay away from. Thanks for putting this together. -
What are the Men of Gold and Red?
IlstrawberrySeed replied to 2spooky4myshirt's topic in Cosmere Discussion
Or bendalloy compounding. (However unlikely, a similar trellium alloy could be compounded.) -
This seems to have been brushed over, but heavily implies that the IU put in is directly related to the IU out, because the metal will run out of fuerochemical charge and revert to releasing allomantic power. I’d assume the rate of compounding has to do with how much IU/metal it normally puts out, but as pointed out previously, Brandon thinks of it as speed of burning is related to the IU required to do it’s thing, so it is unlikely to do a lot.

Huh, they can do both, but he describes it as optional. So no loss of finesse.

So how many magic systems does roshar have?
IlstrawberrySeed replied to Rg2045's topic in Cosmere Discussion
From my understanding, void binding is construed from fused and regals, though I could see it as binding with an unmade or their children. But for the most part they have the same end effects based on what I know. Manipulation of the basic rules of the world in (mostly) minor ways. Can't say more w/o putting the whole thing in spoilers.- 29 replies

Having not finished dawnshard or RoW, I think there are 7, even If I cannot pinpoint them exactly, using the mixing as before Honor - honorblade surgebinding Cultivation - old magic Odium - Fused/Fused surgebinding Honor/Cultivation - KR Surgebinding Cultivation/Odium - Regals Honor/Odium - ? All three - ? My 2 cents, based on what we know from 1/2 shardworlds.- 29 replies

Can Honorblades be taken off-world?
IlstrawberrySeed replied to JustQuestin2004's question in Cosmere Q&A
It was confirmed that he ate it and burned it for mist born, but I was under the impression he waited for a while (longer than he was on Scadrial that visit). It might just be that the WoB confirming he ate it came a year after SH (if I remember the dates correctly.) -
I believe it was mentioned that Elend, being a stronger mist born, was able to burn metals faster to get more power. If it was simply an increase in power/burned, then you would loose a level of finesse.

Can Honorblades be taken off-world?
IlstrawberrySeed replied to JustQuestin2004's question in Cosmere Q&A
Honorblades were moved from 1 planet to another within the Rosharian system, which is off world but not past the Connection barrier. It is possible for honorblades (and spren) to leave if they have enough force to push past the Connection barrier, same as Odium and other Shards. It is difficult for spren because they cannot just be welded by a worldhopper able to pierce the barrier, and in fact it may be impossible for them to get enough mph or reduce the connection barrier, and they might fade if they travel too far, much as when in a bond. Hoid was able to bring lerasium off system, and the honorbaldes are Honor's Metal. It is possible in theory, even if the methods required are shard level. I believe that Talenelat's blade that hold stole was taken off world, if only for a time. Also, I think that spren who tap/fill/spike connection can get off world, and can survive (if only with starlight or healing). -

How far have you read into the Starlight Archive? Have you read Mist bornsecret history? -
When compounding breaths with necrosil, do you get breaths that are 10* stronger, or do you get 10* the number of breaths? If you just my life to yours to a metal that you burn, does the other happen?

There are WoB that only active investiture is detected with life sense. I don't know if a tin mind can store lifesence, but steelsight can be stolen with Hemalurgy, so I would expect so.

It depends on wether aromatic effects are considered "toxins." And what the higher lightnings are, say 20 thousandth hightning might give you speed, the 100th immunity to chromium, and so on. We only know some of the power granted by the 10th. Also, with so many breaths, they can just awaken the metals being drawn, or the impaled metal minds, to investiture eat the full born. Of course, this is irrelevant for Susebron.

Ah, my bad. Thanks for the spoiler tip.
