mmm that's probably a good idea, do you know how to do it?

    jm's art(?)

sure I don't mind, though you should know I didn't use a reference myself so its probably not very realistic

Vin in a brand new world

    From the album: Mistborn Fanworks

I recently finished Hero of Ages, and I really wanted to draw that final scene. Of course this is a "what if" situation because Vin doesn't make it to the end, or maybe this is her spirit admiring the strange flowers from another realm, who knows,
  5. soooo after procrastinating for literal weeks I'm finally putting my foot down and making an art thread. Why? idk because no guarantees that I'll add to this regularly or be consistent at all, but I think it could be fun so here we are aaaaaanyway some recent doodles: ^ this one is a sketch of Leshwi I did a while ago that looks okay (in hindsight her neck is probably way too long but whatever) ^ These are just some random drawings I did at school of some OC's of mine that I thought looked pretty good also I would like to apologize for how big the pictures are, I'm working on a solution for that

This is beautiful! I feel like you captured her face shape really well, at least how I imagine her
  8. Please bear in mind it's been a few months since I read these books, and it's possible I've just forgotten something important--this question has been floating around my head for a while. Anyway, at the end of Oathbringer it's revealed that the Dawnsigners are actually Listeners/Parshendi right? And we know this because scholars were able to translate some old texts using the stuff Dalinar said in his visions as a guide. But this implies the Dawnchant is one language. If the Dawnsingers were writing about the humans coming to Roshar, they would obviously speak in their own language--probably something similar to the "ancient" that Leshwi and the other fused use. But then, can what Dalinar uses in the visions be the Dawnchant? Surely the humans had their own language at the time (maybe several languages) so it seems unlikely that everyone would speak the same language. Especially with the fact that the Dawnsingers used the rhythms, and the human people obviously could not. The humans would probably speak some version of what they used to speak before they came to Roshar. I realize its possible that they are speaking the same language, and the humans are just not using the rhythms (the way Rlain can speak in Alethi y'know?). But it seems unlikely that the language the Dawnsigners spoke before humans came to Roshar is the same language that humans spoke several thousands of years later during Dalinars visions. But somehow, scholars and ardents are able to translate one using the other as a key. So how can the Dawnchant be one langauge? Is it more than one? I hope this isn't too confusing, and I realize it's probably deep diving into speculation, but I'm curious if anyone can explain this or provide more info. (also pls keep in mind I haven't read RoW yet, if the answer is in there, just let me know and I'll find it as I read ^^)
  9. Hoid kinda reminds me of the Happy Mask Salesman from Majora's Mask. The HMS is definitely meant to be more creepy and sinister than Hoid, but they also kinda feel similar to me. They both seem to know more than they should, and they both have odd powers that don't really fit in with the world around them. They're also both able to somehow traverse worlds/dimensions. When it comes to personality they are fairly different though, the HMS is far more . . . overly friendly, but they do play a similar role in the story and have a similar vibe. Idk maybe its just me. If you haven't heard of/played Majora's Mask the HMS is basically this random dude that talks to the main protagonist of the story at the beginning of the game. He drops some exposition and provides you with the main quest, but doesn't do much else. He also seems to have ulterior motives and he knows a lot of stuff that he realistically shouldn't.
  10. Welcome to the shard! what's your favorite book? (if that's too hard, favorite series maybe?)
  11. This is awesome!! I love the perspective
  12. Before Whist could answer Muriel moved closer to them. "Come on," was all she said as she moved back to trailing the soldiers. A sharp glare told them that it would probably be best to do what she said. Hesitantly, Whist began to follow, unsure what else to do.
  13. "Of course I don't trust my own guards, to do so would be idiocy, but don't you worry about me, when the time comes for betrayal," She glanced back at her guards with a wicked smile, "I will be more then able to handle the situation." "But enough chitchat, if we hurry we can get to Caerlon city by tomorrow morning, and then the fun will begin!" Grace laughed as she climbed unaided back into her carriage. "Shes . . . insane," Whist mumbled, not really sure how to handle what had happened.
  14. She stopped on the way to the carriage. "I don't trust anyone who carries weapons," she giggled again "As a matter of fact, I don't really trust anyone at all!" A strange look came into her eyes, but it vanished quickly. "Well, except for myself of course, but I'm me! So obviously I can't trust you because your not me! Its simple logic really."
  15. "Your Grace?" She giggled, "Thats funny, I like it." The women in the back--Muriel, trotted over to them. "But unfortunately, forgiveness is nothing more than a pathetic excuse," her smile dropped, "Muriel, would you keep an eye on on these vagabonds for me as we travel?" She nodded, not climbing down from the horse. Muriel had black hair as well, but hers wasn't curly and she wore simple traveling clothes. A large ruby, set into a medal and pinned to her coat, told a much more interesting story. This gem was only awarded to military officers who had had great success in battle. Muriel was probably not someone you should mess with. Grace began striding back towards her carriage.
  16. Whist sighed in relief, glad someone who knew far more about this kind of thing was taking charge. "You're right, it is your error, but I'm not just going to let you go, for all I know you could be bandits! In fact, looking at you, thats probably what you are!" she said, eyeing MeSann's weapons. "I couldn't possibly let you roam free, In fact, I think I'll escort you to Caerlon City myself, and report you to the law enforcement there!" "Muriel!" She yelled loudly, gesturing at the woman riding at the back to come forward.
  17. The girl frowned, her face pinching. She took a large and obvious step away from Fiadh. She sighed, "Perhaps I need to be more specific. My name is Grace Maude Fitzcharles II. This is my road. And you're trespassing on it. Who are you to do such a thing?" Her voice was quieter now, and somehow far more frightening. Behind her, the soldiers shuffled uncomfortably. "If you do not provide sufficient evidence that you have a right to travel on my road, I'm afraid I will have to have you arrested." @Tani @NerdyAarakocra @The Halcyon Girl @Shallan Stormblessed
  18. She rolled her eyes. "Of course you like my dress, its Kensington!" her tone was almost accusatory. "But I wouldn't expect a . . . simple girl like you to know who the most acclaimed designer in Orteo is." "But thats besides the point, who are you and why are you on my road?!!"
  19. Your art is so awesome, as always! Can I ask you a question? (pls say yes) How do you upload images inside spoiler boxes?? (sorry if you've already talked about this or something, I just cant figure out how to do it)
  20. What is a weird food combination you enjoy? if there are any? (ex: pizza & ranch-- though that one's not really that weird I guess)
  21. "So?!" the girl demanded, she was obviously used to getting her way. Whist kept her mouth closed, the chances of her saying something stupid and making the problem worse were very high. That, and rich people scared her. A lot. Except Larsik, but . . . he wasn't really normal. She continued to hold onto Fiadh, partly to hold her back--if they stole anything they would be in serious trouble, but also to calm her own nerves. "Are you idiots all mute?!" she asked, her voice raising.
  22. By this time, Whist realized just how empty the road had become. They carriage and soldiers were the only other travelers on the road. The two groups continued for a moment, side by side. It was horribly quiet. A shout came from within the carriage and it stopped moving. One of the nearest soldiers gave an audible sigh, and was elbowed by one of his companions. The door to the carriage swung open, and a young girl jumped out, not waiting for a footman to help her down. Her dress too, was an extreme pink. Lined with opals and covered in bows, it was kind of hard to look at. Her curly black hair was pulled into two pigtails, and they bounced vigorously as she approached them. "Who are you?!" She asked. It was hard to tell whether she was eager, or enraged. Either way she was loud. Whist reflexively put a hand on Fiadh's shoulder, too stunned to think of an answer. She had a feeling her companion was right to believe this girl wasn't very friendly.
  23. "If we stay out their way it should be fine," Whist's voice shook a little. Rich people scared her. She didn't notice how the road had almost completely cleared of all other travelers. The carriage and soldiers caught up to the group, moving side by side with it for a bit.
