so I'm probably not going to finish inktober this year . . the inspiration has escaped me and it just didn't end up happening (also school). I did do like 20 though so that a pretty good number

The alley lady did have a point. But what was done was done, no changing it now. Ironic how she couldn't think things through, yet over worried about everything else. Whists head stated to hurt even more, she felt dizzy. Things started to go blurry . . . I think I have a concussion, she thought. They really needed to move, run or something. Find a place to wait out this whole thing. But Whist was having a hard time thinking clearly.

Whist studied Nayka, she seemed so scared, she couldn't have really stolen anything right? She sighed, it was turning out to be a very tiring evening. Calming herself she said, "Let me get this straight, you wanted me to go through legal processing, which would include filing some measure of civil lawsuit, in the middle of the night on an empty dock, when this girl was in present danger. Look, I don't know who you are, but I stand by my actions. I see it as defense of a fellow citizen and therefore justified. This girl insists she didn't steal anything, and the officer provided me with no proof to justify her actions against this girl. Please understand that I don't want trouble, I was just trying to help people." Whist hoped that would be enough for Alley Lady.

Well crap, Whist thought to herself Her brain was tired, and her head wound was giving her a throbbing headache. Would Nayka be mad at her if she told (a version) of the truth? Whist didn't seem to have any other options, and the two girls didn't seem to know what to do either. Whist would just have to pray the alley lady wouldn't turn them in. If they tried to run, it would probably only make things worse. Whist wasn't a good runner and Fiadh was still hurt, so their chances of getting away were slim. Nayka could have ran, but for some reason she stayed. It seemed this woman had a strong respect for the law, Whist decided to play into that. "Okay, you got me," Whist said, defeated, "I was helping my hurt friend when this officer assaulted that girl," She pointed at Nayka, "She framed her for something she insists she didn't do, and started harassing her, Which, if I remember correctly, is definitely illegal, I simply defended her from this officers unjust actions and abuse of power, by this time the docks had emptied and there wasn't anyone to ask for help, so I did what I had to." Whist puffed slightly from her rushed and long winded answer. Pleaseworkpleasework, she thought.

Whist considered telling her the truth, the officer had (probably) been framing Nayka, and had acted overly violent (in Whist's unprofessional opinion). But there was a chance this woman wouldn't care, or for that matter, believe her at all. Also It would contradict her previous lies . . . Tide pools, she hated lying. "Its not what it looks like!!!" was first thing Whist thought to say, in hindsight, it probably made her seem even more suspicious. "She was just coming over to see if our hurt friend here was okay when she slipped on the docks and hit her head," Whist said, trying to sound sincere.

I'm BACK!!!!!!! and I'm way behind! anyway, these are wonderful gravity-defying friends (I guess thats kinda the opposite of the prompt but whatever) also, I've done these next few digitally, just so I can get caught up faster (this does mean they're kinda rushed and messy though) -

Nayka joining in on the act calmed Whist down a bit. She tried her best to look teary eyed as well (though she was as good at acting as she was lying)

"UH" was the first thing that came out of Whist's mouth when she heard someone from the corner of the alley speak. Extremely shaken, it took Whist a minute to remember the woman had asked her a question. "Why are you in my alley?" "U- uuum," Whist glanced at her companions for help, but it didn't seem like they had an answer either. Its not like I can tell her I just assaulted an officer and that we're hiding from the law, Whist thought to herself. "We . . . are, uh, resting, uh, because . . . because our friend here hurt her leg!" she gestured at Fiadh. Hopefully that would be enough of an excuse for the shadowed figure.

"Thats good, I'm glad!" Whist said, settling down on the ground next to her.

Was that the same bundle from before? Whist couldn't remember. "Okay, cool, cheese, that's nice," it came out more suspicious than she meant it, hopefully Nayka wouldn't notice- or care. It wasn't very much information, but at least it was something. Then Whist turned to the younger girl, and handed her a cloak from her bag. The girl was only wearing a simple ragged dress, and the night air was chilly. "Fiadh, are you feeling better?"

Whist studied Nayka's face. Was she lying?? Whist happened to be terrible at reading faces, so that didn't help. "Okay . . . don't worry, we'll figure this out, but I have one more question for you: what was that bundle you had a minute ago?"

"I see, its nice to meet you Nayka," Whist said, "Now if you don't mind, could you please explain this situation? The more I know, the more I can help." Whist eyed the unconscious officer. She really hoped she hadn't just made a big mistake.

While Whist waited for the girl to answer, she couldn't help but notice Fiadh's confusion. Whist hadn't meant to drag the child into this, but she seemed to determined to with her. [yes, I think this is a good place for you to introduce a character, but If you'd let @The Halcyon Girl answer some of my questions first that'd for that'd be great. Just so things don't get too confusing] [Sorry ^^; I guess a dock is just a really good starting place for characters (especially since most of us are travelers)]

Thank you ^^ I'm actually using Ohuhu markers, (so yeah, alcohol markers). I'm really not very good with markers, the ones I have had been sitting on a shelf for a really long time. I decided to use them for inktober to get better with them, and also because I don't really have any "inky" mediums.
