    "Hopefully we don't have to steal anything. But if we do..." Cufre glanced at Tacien a bit guiltily. "He'll know where it is and what's protecting it."

    The boy's strange, color-changing eyes locked with Kris' again. "Yes, he is. But hopefully he'll be useful for the research."

    "Yes," Cufre replied. "He can't speak or write or really communicate at all. But he knows things that no one ever taught him."

    He gave no response or even change in expression. He just sat back down.

    Tacien quickly drew something on a piece of paper he had had in his pocket, then handed it to Kris. It was a very detailed, although slightly bloodstained, depiction of said cactus.

    Tacien finished wrapping the large wound, then stood up to give Kris the bandages back. @Channelknight Fadran

    Tacien kept wrapping the large cut. "I have no idea where he got it. He didn't even want to bandage it at first."

    "One second." Cufre knelt down next to his brother, who remained emotionless. "Look, I get that it's a bad day for you, and I don't know why you're cut, but you can't just not bandage that. It'll get worse." After a moment, Tacien stood up and took the bandages from Kris and began carefully wrapping the wound himself.

    Tacien pushed him away. "What?" Cufre approached. "Why aren't you letting him bandage it?" "I don't know."

    "You're Kris? Think you can help with the bleeding kid?"

    Cufre quickly followed him. Immediately, he saw Tacien, sitting on the floor, arm bleeding profusely. "What the..."

    He smiled. "You're a curious one. Come on, let's go."

    He looked a little confused at this. "What do you mean, will you ever be ready?"

    "Yup. If you're ready."

    The changes in emotion wouldn't last for very long once she got far away, but TAAron was glad he did it anyway. "So," Lerac began, "that was something. I hope I didn't overdo it."

    TAAron, feeling a bit of vindictive anger himself, subtly used brass and zinc to take away her sense of confidence and righteousness and amplify her fear and regret. Lerac looked over at Haly, making eye contact to gauge how she felt about his actions.

    "Yep. I'll put Tacien on there, too. He'll probably beat us to the place."

    "That wasn't a war. That was your personal punishment. One does not punish nations, one punishes people. Do you need me to punch you again?"

    "Great. Now how about this?" He released her, cutting off the flow of energy, then punched her in the face.

    Nice colors, and the modifiers you've put on 'novelist' are pretty relatable. Swords cool, dragons cool, nice shardbuddies list... 8.5/10

    "Feels good, huh? How about this?" He lunged forward and grabbed her shoulder, flooding her with healing energy, enough to bring on a sensation of warmth and pleasure that would be nearly paralyzing. He didn't know how he knew he could do it, but it would work. He waited for a moment to see her reaction.

    She had one of her characters incite a battle that destroyed an entire army and nearly the entire nobility of a country.
