  1. "Nothing now. I'm still working through some experiments that we should be able to try soon. Unless of course, you would have any ideas?"
  2. "Yes I assume you would." Arcaene said drily. "And yes, I am intrigued by your unique capabilities."
  3. "What would you want me to do with you?" Arcaene asked.
  4. "We go up find a guard and we bug 'em until they bring us to a food place." Miyako said matter of factly. The witch frowned for a moment. "I suppose it can't hurt." She shrugged. "You may call me Arcaene."
  5. Antin waited for a long time. It is hard to tell how much time has passed in the cold cell, cut off from the world, but it felt like hours had gone by. The harsh light of the lantern burned through it all. Eventually, Antin heard voices outside the cell. The jangling of keys rattled through the door and then the witch entered. Through the open door Antin could see a thick, gray skinned man who was covered in animal skins. On his belt he wore a pair of hatchets. The witch gave Antin an appraising look and turned back to the giant of a man. "Dolen, dear, you really should check on the prisoner more. Who knows how long he's been awake in here." The man, apparently named Dolen slowly responded. "Yes Madam. I will do as you ask." His voice was rumbling gravel. The witch looked back to Antin, weighing her next words. She wore a bandage over the top of her head and she wore a different dress than before. "What is your name?" She finally asked. Quest paused. Was that Vance calling out ahead? Quest rushed forward to meet him. "Vance!" Quest looked terrible. His clothes were unkempt and covered in burns and stains, his hair was unruly and he had bags under his eyes. He slumped on his staff and wore a tired sagging smile. Miyako continued walking until she arrived at Acolytes door. She banged on it loudly. "Wanna come get some food with us?" @xinoehp512
  6. I had the weirdest dream last night. I forgot the motive behind my actions but I found myself smuggling rats in applesauce pouches. It was....interesting upon reflection. *Shakes head hopelessly for foolish internet reviewers* My favorite part is that one whole person found it helpful.
  7. Antin awakes to find his arms chained to a stone wall. The room is about ten feet wide and twenty feet long. A wooden door stands at the end of the hallway, with a window made out of bars near the top of the door. To the right of the door there is a lantern, shedding dim light on his bare surroundings.
  8. The witch watched as Antin slumped to the ground. Absently she muttered to herself. "I wonder if I still have some chains in the basement..."
  9. The witch clapped her hands and smiled. "You should immediately began to feel lightheaded. In about, what was it? Twenty seconds?" She waved a hand dismissively. "Regardless, very soon you will be unconscious." @Channelknight Fadran @The Halcyon Girl @Random Bystander
  10. The witch raised her eyebrow. "For me to know and you to drink. It does taste awful but its the best I could do on short notice." She shrugged.
  11. The witch promptly returned with a bottle of some sort of green-blue concoction. She placed it on the floor five feet away from Antin and then walked back ten feet into the hall. Pointing at the vial she spoke. "Drink that."
  12. "Lovely." The witch hurried down the hall, entering one of the side rooms.
  13. "You are you going to stand in the middle of the room and I will be right back. You are being monitored so don't try anything."
  14. Huh. Who are you? Don't give me any prisoner fluff, I want actual facts. Quest waved weakly. The witch impatiently gestured for Antin to enter the house. She stood inside the main foyer, keeping a healthy distance between him.
  15. "Again, dying is the second option." The witch said brightly. "Take whatever path you want. The front doors are just this way."
  16. Can it be fixed? That would let her go Name all over the place right? Quest sank to his knees and looked up at Antin. "You don't have to go. I can find a way out." Quest said with little hope.
  17. Dave yawned. He found a decently dry spot and lowered himself to the floor. "This should be fun to watch." Dave said.
  18. "But.." Quest stood there, perfectly still as he tried to deal with the news. "It can't happen again." Quest muttered. "Antin...you can't just go." The witch clapped her hands. "Well, if that's over you can follow me back into my house." The witch glanced disdainfully at Quest. "If you can retrieve the aether crystal from your friends then I would be more likely to let your friend go easier." Miyako shrugged. Assumed her power was localized to the islands
  19. "Hmmm, only creatures? Can you register other objects that come through?"
  20. Aether crystal? Ya mean that big red thing down by Mariel?
  21. "No! No, of course not." Quest sounded desperate, as he frantically tried to think of a way out of this. "We...we could fight her!" "You can?" The witch sounded amused. "How delightful."
  22. "No...no!" Quest said, raising his staff. "You can take me. I'm learning runes a-" "Dear, you have some nice parlor tricks but nothing I can't find in a 5 year old. Your friend is something, hmm, special." She turned to Antin, wrinkling her nose. "It's really not that bad, certainly preferable to dying, and I wouldn't even hold you that long. A year perhaps? I'll even let your little friend go, seeing as I have no use for him."
  23. The witch paused for a moment, considering her options. After a moment a cruel smile began to grow on her face. "I'll take him." She said lightly, pointing towards Antin. Quest began to nod but violently cut off, looking down at Antin and the witch with shock. "....what?!" Its pretty easy actually. Are you guys just wimps or something? Who are you anyway?
  24. Yeah I'm amazing. Also what did I do? Quest paused. The witch wasn't taking any actions even though he was defenseless. Upon thinking on it, the witch hadn't attacked Antin until he had acted offensively. He could use that. Quest glanced down to Antin's unconscious body, fear and urge to help threatening to paralyze him. Quest straightened and called back a bit of his old strength, the well of determination that had come from putting his life in danger for his clan, and knowing they would do the same for him. There was no time for weakness in these kinds of situations. "What do I have to do to stop you from hurting us?" Quest asked, all hint of his normal hesitancy abandoned. The witch let a small smirk grow on her face. "And now we finally find ourselves getting somewhere."
