  1. The pool of water at Yerik's feet flowed together and streamed back to Miyako. It struck at Yerik again, noticeably softer than the first attack.
  2. Quest began to pull out his notebook before he realized this was not the time to write stuff down. He considered summoning fire but it seemed like Vance knew what he was doing. Miyako didn't laugh. That would be rude. She was however extremely amused. "Are you still in one piece?" Miyako asked Yerik. "You up for this?"
  3. A stream of water whipped out of Miyako's waterskin, slashing towards Yerik. She stood there smiling.
  4. Miyako turned her head thinking, "I've always made it sharp but I guess I can dull it." She shrugged. "Ya ready?" The witch muttered to herself as the portals around the room began to turn into red panes. Various monsters and horrors reached out towards Vance.
  5. "I animate a stream of water and then.." Miyako made a stabbing motion. "It's pretty simple."
  6. Miyako shrugged and opened her waterskin. "I've already practiced sword forms today. Let's mix it up."
  7. "Sure. Do I just start attacking?" Miyako asked, suddenly interested.
  8. Miyako had started to walk away, but turned back regarding him. "What?"
  9. "It's fine. Just been staying sharp." Miyako replied. "Where's my room?"
  10. Quest's face lit up. Vance wasn't crazy. He had worried for a second. Here the witch was asking for a sacrifice from people that had been trespassing on her grounds. They had broken her door and poorly attempted to deceive her; such indecency. Honestly, people these days. This was why she lived in the woods alone. "Step into the sacrifice circle", the witch said, pointing at a large circle at the middle of the room, "very carefully. I more then within my right to use force at this point." She had her book open and her lantern burning strong.
  11. From my understanding attracting a spren is very hard. Just being on Roshar, for even for someone like Hoid, won't guarantee that a spren wants to bond him. He specifically had to track down Design and "force" her into bonding him.
  12. The runes around Eej began to flare red. They became searing hot.
  13. Quest followed, both fascinated by the interior and terrified of what was happening. After reaching the end of the hallway and opening the door they saw the witch lady standing over a row of knives, with Vance besides her. She glanced up at Kealie and responded, "Some vine nuisance, I am currently putting measures in place to trap it."
  14. "Yes, ok. Let's please just get on with the sacrifice." The witch's voice rang throughout the entrance hall. "Your friend has requested that you see his death. Go to the end of the hallway, last door on the left."
  15. "They can watch your death if they want, though I will stay make then pay for damages."
  16. "I don't do customers", the witch said grimacing at the word. "And they destroyed my door so I am not in a charitable mood."
  17. Hyron sniffed, staring at the sails of the ship as they billowed in the wind. They had gotten used to the speed and roughness of the ship, so seasickness was no longer a concern. What was a concern, was the anxiety of seeing the world. They didn't know much of the world, only that the Corners were dangerous, and Humans could rarely be trusted. But, if it helped their people gain better relationships with society, and maybe become an integral part of society, Hyron was willing to try. So that made it: 2 counts of anxiety, one about the world as a whole, and an unexpected second one about... Miyako. Hyron still didn't understand what that was, and they weren't sure they ever would, so they just put it to the back of their mind for now. After two hours of cycling Miyako ended her workout with a soft sheen of sheet, breathing hard. Satisfied. Hyron seemed to be over on the other side of ship doing something. She would talk to him later, but right now she just wanted to find Yerik and figure out where her room or hammock was. She walked around looking for the acolyte. @xinoehp512 "A new experiment. I hope to open a permanent portal for ease of travel. If you'll excuse me I need to deal with a few intruders momentarily." The witch replied, looking back towards the doorway. She opened her book. Quest had been inspecting the door, leaning in to read the script when the light had began to flare. The doors began to crack and he stumbled back. Quest blinked, looking at the gaping hole where the door had just been. Did Kealie just break the door with her mind? Who was this girl? Inside the doorway a large room opened up. Circles and runes covered most of the walls and floors and it seemed well decorated and maintained. A large staircase trailed up to an upper hall and the larger room was mostly empty. A hallway branched off from the room, lined with doors marked with script. "Ummm, what do we do now?" Quest asked, as all of the circles on the walls flared red.
  18. The door began to flare brighter and brighter until the light suddenly faded. The next instant the door cracked open.
  19. I think what you really need is just an explosions class.
  20. From my science experience it is very lackluster. Most experiments we do are about something weird like the salinity needed for brine shrimp to hatch. But then again I'm biased because I don't like group work.
  21. The door didn't open, thought the runes on the door flared red. "Hmmm, we would have to disable or overpower the magic somehow."
  22. "Get inside the house? It looks pretty well protected though, the rune circles seem to provide defense and summoning points."
  23. "Oh umm your plant thing? They went into the witch's house with Vance."
