I think that part of the message is that kelsier was sickeningly destructive. Preservation is good because his inherent intent is the protection of humanity. One thing i really like about the well of acension is that it shows the fallout of overthrowing a long established government. You are left seriously asking if that much death is worth it. Thus it makes sense that a good being who wanted to save humans would allow something like the final empire

i get that but my problem is that we Do see physical dawnshards and the stuff in secret history with the preservation connecting device. We also do sometimes see some investiture manifested physically.

I think our equasion for shards trying to shatter eachother is shard investiture+ 1d10+modifiers whoever gets higher wins the shardic battle. I think that there should be a 5 term period where shards are safe from this to allow them to build up power. We can randomly generate planets by making planet cards that define tha planet. 1st phase is early post shattering each player draws five magic cards each player chooses a planet to invest in. You must invest in a planet. When you do so you lose 5 investiture and start a new magic system. making a planet costs 20 investiture but decreases future cards investiture cost. The phase then ends and the main game begins Each turn you may take 2 actions the actions are draw 1 magic card reveal a champion/person play 1 card, affect a person move to another planet.(if you do this it will leave some of your investiture behind the game ends when a shard reaches 16 ;points you earn points by completing a magic system or fullfilling your goals P.S Im trying to figure out a way to start making cards online that i can share here, any ideas?

I was wondering about the shardic terminology. they all have names like shards,splinters,slivers which seem to indicate some kind of gemstone would this mean adonalsium was a gemstone? Do we see shards themselves physically? Could you steal a shard from the owner like you could a physical object?

I think one really cool idea is shards vying for controll over a person. So something might happen like with dalinar in the books we definitly will need perpendicularities. the shard will have to have a balancing act in that they can make a hyper invested magic system but wil be left weak if another shard tries to shatter them.

So i think we should start with our 5 basics, Presrevation, Ruin, Honor,Cultivation,Odium. These are the shards we see directly in the books and thus will serve as our base shards, whith other shard rules being added later. All shards have an investiture level of 50. Of the 5 starters only ruin and presrevation together can make a planet. The most important cards are Magic system cards, Person cards, and planet cards. Magic system cards cost investiture to play, you dont lose investiture and if you discard the card you gain back investiture. Person cards help the shard do things, the strength of your magic system effects how powerfull of a person you have working with you. Person cards might be things like, Waxillium ladrien, Kelsier, Vin,The heralds, or sometimes other sorts of tools like well of acension, returned, kolloss, kandra, inquisitors. Planet cards effect the planet you are on and allows you to help develop your planet.\ @Shining Silhouette
