  1. Calev interjected. "Sorry, I know I'm interrupting, but Roy, you really do need to tell us what we need to do. So far you've spouted a prophecy, told us that this world is about to become a warzone, and told me I might have to kill someone if I want to leave. If there are steps that we need to take I suggest that we start taking them." @Edema Rue @Doomslug Doomslug Doomslug @Scars of Hathsin
  2. Tinker hesitated, then grimaced. "I hate to ask this...but can you keep watch while I sleep a little bit? I've been up the past two nights, and...yeah."
  3. Tinker smiled slightly. Then he stifled a yawn. When was the last time I slept?
  4. Calev observed Aureole as she seemed to fall silent. Something about the sunset... He felt the flood of the star's magical energy fade as it dipped below the horizon. Is Roy right? Even if I get enough Starlight, am I stuck here? His reserves were still relatively low, but steadily rising... Calev noted the newcomer. A world of gods and spirits if ever there was one. His experience with beings of that nature was fairly limited, but he knew the basics. I suppose I'll know a lot more by the time this is all done.
  5. Wait, how'd I get on that list?
  6. Happy Birthday!

Remember we all think you're cool. Because you are.

  7. Tinker sighed. "Probably."
  8. Tinker handed her the half-full bowl, warmed from the fire. "Sorry," he said. "I already ate some of it."
  9. "Yeah." Tinker grabbed the supplies and put them in the tent. "There's also some soup from Émeric, if you want it."
  10. Tinker met her eyes again. "No. That much is certain. If you're having these thoughts, it proves you aren't."
  11. I had a terrifying moment when Chaos PMed me to tell me my old one was too long.
  12. (But he only told himself that because Nin had bested him so thoroughly several years back that lying to himself was the only way to keep his self-esteem.)
  13. Tinker stared into those eyes. He felt useless. He looked down. "I don't know how to help."
  14. @Edema Rue "I have my own war, too," Calev said. "And that's why I'm trying to leave. My sister is out there, somewhere, and I need to save her." He tossed his apple core to the ground. "I don't know if I can afford to stay here any longer. But I also don't know how to leave."
  15. "God...Emperor?" Why have I never heard of this in all my travels? "What about deities with prior obligations? Worlds to guard, people to lead? What if they have no reason to fight for his throne?" If the ones guiding us this whole time have been lying to us about the nature of the world...
  16. Calev started, almost choking on a bite of apple. "Every single immortal?! Do you know how many that is? Way more than would even fit on a single planet! And why?"
  17. Huh. "Okay." Calev turned to Roy. "What kinds of gods are we talking about here?" He was familiar with several beings that would be considered deities. The Lightwielders had several supporting them, and in his travels across the stars he'd ran into a few more. It wasn't uncommon for important planets to have more than one, though the exact nature varied from being to being. And if the stories are true, the Makers have a deity backing them, too... he suppressed a shudder. @RoyalBeeMage
  18. It would appear as though this planet has some powerful forces governing it... could it be why reality keeps shifting, and I keep getting yanked back in and out of reality? Calev looked to Arranis. "Are you also from another planet?"
  19. ...Why am I on the leaderboard for the last month?

  20. "I..." Don't know.
  21. "Maybe you were," Tinker said. "But...what's the point looking at the past? You did something wrong. Move on. Now is what matters. Now, and what happens next. Especially in this place."
  22. Tinker's face fell. He felt a chill. "...It's not your fault you were forced to choose this arena. Where the only way to survive is to kill." But she didn't have to kill an unconscious person. What am I thinking? Why am I defending her?
