  1. "Ooh, narrators are re-materializing!" Bookwyrm said as he sat down and began eating pineapples. "Maybe we'll get some plot again soon. I was busy helping Eof find his family when the chaos wave began."
  2. Bookwyrm sighed and shook his head. "I'm all for fire, but let's please not burn anything that doesn't need to be burned." He glanced at the map again. "Maybe we can stop by the library later and check and see if there's any useful information..."
  3. Everybody (np) and Somebody (np, to make things perfectly confusing)'s race was judged by Somepeople. He screamed to start the race.
  4. Confusion reigned as the ninjas attacked and the realm was thrust into the present tense.
  5. Everyone (np) was sad that the apples weren't pineapples.
  6. He swore revenge for the massacre of his mind.
  7. " @CalanoCorvus is going to disagree strongly with you on that course of action."
  8. "Hold your horses a minute," Bookwyrm said. "I'm all for an attack, but a random rampage with no objective is going to get us nowhere. We need more intelligence." Bookwyrm pulled up a map of the clinic on the hologram projector. He looked for a moment before pointing to a specific room. "There. That's the office of one of the chicken's lower ranking commanders. We should infiltrate and steal some info on how they're running the clinic."
  9. "I meant more functionality. Like...communications, supply lines. We need to cause chaos and confusion so that we actually can take out the Chickens. And Lark. "And...Lark has strange powers. Even besides the fact that he can take away our ability to use Sanderson based powers. He was able to sense where I was when I was invisible, and he seems immune to many other kinds of magic. He's not going to be easy to beat, in a personal fight."
  10. "It's over there." Bookwyrm pointed to a door that had appeared on the wall that was conveniently labeled "Training Room." "Meanwhile, we need a plan of attack. We need to hit Lark's system at it's weak points, break it down so it can't function. Where do we need to strike first?"
  11. "All right," Bookwyrm said. "We can probably use that..." He paused for a moment. "Also, can we continue any further magic training in the training room that I have conveniently asked the Expanding Room to create? It's getting kind of chaotic in here."
  12. "Our Sanderson based powers can be deactivated by Lark, so even though this is a Brandofandonitis clinic, we should probably practice using other ones," Bookwyrm said. "Whether those powers come from our own selves or other worlds outside of Sanderson based ones."
  13. All right.

    It's time to confess.

This is my biggest shame as a fantasy nerd, one that haunts me wherever I go, and a shame that will one day be solved, I just don't know when.

I have not finished the Lord of the Rings.

I have only read The Fellowship of the Ring, and I have only seen the Fellowship of the Ring.

    And it's a problem.

The movies should be the easy part; my dad was having us watch them as a family, but he left on a work project for a few weeks. Now that he's back, I should be able to catch up to the end soon enough. The books are harder. Considering they were written a long time ago, and in their style, its just really hard for me to get into in the way that I do a Sanderson novel, for instance.

Despite these facts, my dad, who just arrived home, decided to show us the first episode of Rings of Power last night. And because I don't really know how it fits in with the rest of the world, I can't make a fully formed opinion on it...but based on what I've seen, I think it looks great. I want to watch more, and the little tidbits of lore I have received are really enticing.

So there. Perhaps you will get to witness my full fledged transformation into a Tolkien Lore nerd over the coming months.

I certainly hope that's the case, at least.

That's okay. Tolkien is amazing, but understandably intimidating to get into. I hope you come to love it as much as we have! :D

How can you call yourself a fantasy fan and not have read The Lord of the Rings? I will never be able to talk to you again, after such a treason.

No, seriously, there's no problem with not getting into a book or an author, no matter its impact on a genre. And even though I love LOTR, I can see plenty of perfectly valid reasons for not living it, most notably the style.

I hope you will get to love it eventually though. :D

Not really though. It took me awhile to get into LotR, but it's so, so good. Re-re-(re?)-reading Fellowship rn.

  14. ....Oh. That'll do it.
  15. The shard is weirdly active, but right now it's mostly just me, you, Wizard, and Halcyon. And in all the same threads. And I have to go to a band competition in a few minutes. Edit: And of course @Robin Sedai posts right after I say it's just the four of us. It won't let you add a quote when you're editing, just so you're aware. It's annoying.
  16. Uh.... For some more contemplative and less action packed songs, I'd start with: The Main Theme from Xenoblade Chronicles, Where We Used to Be from Xenoblade Chronicles 2, And The Title Screen theme from Xenoblade Chronicles 3. The second two of those are purely piano pieces. I can get back to you with some of my other favorites later.
  17. Dragons are by far my favorite creature.
  18. Subject is a weird word. Weird is a weird word. Word is a weird word. ....Words are weird.
  19. Video game soundtracks are among my favorite music of all time. I think I've told you this, but the music from the Xenoblade Chronicles series is incredible. I love listening to it.
  20. ....Is there a Hollow Knight thread in Entertainment Discussion yet?
  21. "I think he'd be able to sense you. I was sneaking around invisible earlier, and he was able to locate me easily."
