  1. "I'm sorry," Bookwyrm said to the White Tiger (@The Wandering Wizard). "I...need to go. Something has happened." Bookwyrm grasped his mental lifeline and pulled. He was snapped out of the Astral Plane and back into the clinic. Bookwyrm sat up suddenly, and looked around the basement room that he was in. He stood up and dashed into the hallway. Bookwyrm eventually found himself a path back to the main levels, and ran to the lobby, where he found Calano twiddling his thumbs. His eyes widened. "What....Calano?"
  2. As Bookwyrm stood in the Astral Plane, he felt a mind appear. Back in the clinic, in an empty room, with no one around. The mind was....familiar. No...Bookwyrm said. It...can't be.
  3. "How'd it get access to cookies down...oh, wait." Bookwyrm paused. "Nevermind." He turned to Esmerelda. "So what's the plan?"
  4. "I think I could have convinced him to distract the monster so we could kill it, take the key, and save him before he got eaten."
  5. As Bookwyrm waited for the White Tiger's response, he checked his mental life line. His body was still unconscious in the basement of the clinic, though he had no way of knowing what was happening out of that small cell. After a quick scan, making sure nothing was too wrong, Bookwyrm turned his attention back to the Astral Plane.
  6. Bookwyrm walked over to Noot. "Uh...are you Noot?" he asked. "We need you to do something for us."
  7. Hello, people on this thread. I have recently re-read all of the Percy Jackson series, (I had previously gotten halfway though book 5 and then stopped) and am now on book one of Heroes of Olympus. Just so you're aware.
  8. Well, then, "General Kenobi". Bookwyrm paused. Uh...why were you attacking me just now?
  9. Bookwyrm opened his eyes and looked around his new landscape. Is this the part where I make a moderately obscure Star Wars reference? he tentatively sent out into the void.
  10. Bookwyrm didn't have time to react. The loss of his mental powers shocked him, so he did nothing to get out of the way. The White Tiger soared through the air, directly towards him.
  11. Bookwyrm reminds himself that he isn't here in person, but he doesn't want his mind to be wounded. He disperses himself, temporarily dissolving his figure in the Astral Plane, and lets the White Tiger dive through him. Then he re-forms. Bookwyrm attempts to probe the mind of the White Tiger to figure out why it's attacking.
  12. "That's good," Bookwyrm said as he shot a glare at Everyone.
  13. That wasn't the real Wizard, Bookwyrm reminded himself. He tried not to let it disturb him. Bookwyrm reached out with his mind again, into the empty void of this part of the Astral Plane, searching for where he needed to go next. If anywhere....
  14. "I see." Bookwyrm dismissed the sheep. "Will it chase me in human form?"
  15. "I haven't...I wasn't aware it existed."
  16. "....The chickens?" Bookwyrm felt the absence of Calano's mind. He's dead. I had hoped to contact his consciousness...to ask him about the Scourge...to figure out why that dimension existed in the first place. Why a Brandofandonitis clinic? I guess I'm going to have to look a little harder for those answers.
  17. "....No. But I can still be the bait." He paused. "Wait." Bookwyrm narrated a sheep into existence. "Will this work?"
  18. @The Wandering Wizard @CalanoCorvus As Bookwyrm asked the question about the Scourge, he reached out with his mind, extending it almost to infinity. He probed the mind of the being in front of him, and realized that this wasn't the real Wizard. He sent is consciousness out, beyond the dimension where he was. He searched for the true minds of Wizard and Calano, if they still existed. They have to. They have to exist, somewhere. He sent out a call to both of them, not knowing if they existed to hear. Where are you?
  19. "I'll help too," Bookwyrm said. "Just tell me what to do."
