  1. Astrym Calendar: 1063 Years After Arrival World Calendar: 0014 Holy Year As we attempted to launch an offensive against the Gahestian Empire to support Realmingsburg, we suffered a powerful defeat that none of us expected. In order to prepare for a possible retaliation, we have called back our armies and fortified our island. Many of our civilians have been evacuated into airships that hover safely above the Island of Astrym. We will wait out the next few years as we wait to see what occurs next. We are also conducting research on something that could change the entire world, but it is still in it's early stages, and we cannot reveal anything yet. Fearing retaliation from the Gahestian Empire, Astrym recalls its army and fortifies its homeland. They evacuate many civilians into airships that hover in the sky above their island, and wait to see how the other kingdoms react.
  2. "No. It's not. We aren't even getting started." Bookwyrm walked up to Wizard. "I need to ask you: What exactly is the Scourge?"
  3. Bookwyrm took a few steps forward, still suspicious. "Not to well, I'd imagine," Bookwyrm said. "Considering she'll find Calano dead when she wakes up."
  4. Bookwyrm looked around at the long dark hallway he suddenly appeared in. The tree seemed to be gone. He turned and jumped when he saw Wizard. "Wizard?" Bookwyrm called out. "Is...is it really you?" But even as he spoke, Bookwyrm felt that something was off. Wizard didn't have the same light in his eyes that he always had. Something's not right.
  5. Bookwyrm created a safety tether back to his body. No need to separate completely. He wanted to be able to return, just in case. Bookwyrm followed the White Tiger back to the Astral Plane. As they drifted across the dimensions, Bookwyrm idly wondered if he'd see a Black Crow appear with the White Tiger. Bookwyrm soon found himself in the same tree he had been in before. He turned and walked through the doorway he had opened, towards what was hidden beyond.
  6. Bookwyrm's eyes grew wide. "Esmeralda? We were helping Eof look for you, but then got separated! How'd you get here? Where are your kids?"
  7. "Moni?" Bookwyrm asked. "Nameless was looking for you. He split up with us saying he could find you himself."
  8. Bookwyrm shifted back to human form as he sensed a mind depart. He was stunned. First Wizard, now Calano. What is happening.... Bookwyrm didn't know what to do. And yet, despite his grief, he came to grips with it. He wouldn't want me to grieve. He'd want me to fight. Rather than fight the chickens, he let them overpower him. He dismissed his weapons back into the infinite pouch on his belt. A tranquilizer dart pierced him on the arm, and Bookwyrm drifted into unconsciousness. However, as his body fell asleep, Bookwyrm reached out with his mind, searching for the White Tiger. Can you take me back to the Astral Plane? He sent out into the void. I think it's about time I found some answers.
  9. Bookwyrm let them trap his wings; he couldn't fly in the confines of the clinic anyway. However, he breathed fire that destroyed any chickens trying to grapple his legs. They kept coming though, and it was getting harder to hold them off, even in this form.
  10. The second one is definitely a version of Aon Ire stylized after the Steel Alphabet, and considering the group Kelsier meets is called the Ire and the part of the story is titled "Ire", I'm guessing they just did this for aesthetic purposes. The first one is the symbol for Kredik Shaw, I'm pretty sure. These are just symbols in the Steel Alphabet, and don't represent any new metals. I don't think that Brandon Sanderson is going to break the rule of sixteen by adding any more, except for God Metals and their alloys, which are a special case.
  11. "We just need a key," Bookwyrm said. "Can you help us? Once we have the key, we can leave."
  12. Bookwyrm cast a spell and a shield of energy appeared in front of him, dispersing the plasma. He dove forward and swung his tail, knocking the two cannons out.
  13. "Thank you for coming," Bookwyrm said to Calano. "I have a plan now. Get ready." Bookwyrm transformed. In a burst of light and energy, he became a dragon. Deep blue scales covered his body, accented with black and white patterns that wove from his head to his tail.. Silver scales were scattered in specific spots on his head and around his eyes, and the scales on the underside of his wings glittered like stars. When he opened his mouth, a billowing torrent of Nightfire burst forth, the shimmering blue flames scouring the hallway of chickens. Remarkably, the hallway itself was left undamaged. Onward! Bookwyrm said telepathically in Calano's mind, considering he couldn't really talk as a dragon.
  14. Bookwyrm sent out a loud mental call. I'm surrounded and pinned on all sides. I need help. If anyone can hear this and is able, come. I can't do this on my own.
  15. Great. Bookwyrm sent a mental message out to the others. If anyone is near my position, I need some help. With his future sight, he'd be able to dodge some of the sniper shots, but if there were enough, they'd put him in a checkmate. Bookwyrm stood still, analyzing the situation and waiting to see if anyone would answer him.
  16. Bookwyrm dodged the first attack. He wasn't burning atium, but he could still see the future. The visions of hidden twin swords, the blood of a race of dragons, and the sight of the alignment of existence itself gave him bits and pieces that told him exactly how and where the chickens were going to strike. From the pouch of infinite space on his belt, Bookwyrm pulled a long double edged sword. It's shape shifted as he fought, revealing it's many forms and the many metals from which it was forged. He parried, slashed, and stabbed. Feathers flew. As the first wave of chickens faded, Bookwyrm put the sword on a sheath that had appeared on his back and pulled out a magic staff and a large spellbook. Using the energy contained within each, he sent a blast of magic that knocked out the next group of assailants. Bookwyrm placed the staff on his back with his sword and his spellbook in a large leather bag that hung at his waist. Then he sent a mental message to Calano. I've cleared the first hallway. Moving towards the head office.
  17. Bookwyrm carefully approached the source of the murderous mumbling.
  18. Bookwyrm nodded solemnly. "I understand. Can and will do." He turned to @Thaidakar the Ghostblood. "Let's go." He summoned a Wyrmhole that led to a hallway near Lark's desk.
  19. "I'd say that's a fair guess," Bookwyrm said as he summoned his Narrationblade.
  20. Bookwyrm appeared. "Sorry, a shift in the fabric of TLT ate me for a second. And I sense another one coming, so I probably won't be here for too long. But I'll help find the key for as long as I can so we can escape this toilet labyrinth, meet up with Eof, and find his family."
  21. "....What did you say?" Bookwyrm turned to @Ranryu. "What did you do?" He sighed and shook his head. "Nevermind. I'll worry about that later. I'm organizing a raid on that commander's office. Everyone who's coming with me, speak up."
  22. "All right." Bookwyrm took some pineapples and put them in his pouch of infinite space. "Let's go find Moni, then."
  23. "We can do that." Bookwyrm turned to Rabbit. "Want to go on your first official quest as a Narrator character?"
