Will the Cosmere Be Completed?
Argent replied to VirtuousTraveller's topic in General Brandon Discussion
I've grown... disturbed by how morbid the fantasy fans in general have become in recent years. Ever since Robert Jordan's passing, famous authors have started getting barraged with questions about who would finish their series if they too die, and while I understand that those questions are coming from a place of concern and love (for the series), it's still an incredibly morbid thing to ask an author, or even discuss. Not to mention that it paints a picture very much focused on the fate of the books, and not the author. So please reconsider the merits of a conversation like this. I know the thread didn't start on this topic, but it's going there, and I don't think it should. -
I think it's been kind of unofficial until now. Nobody really doubted it, but I don't think it was confirmed.

I actually like all of the Gentleman Bastard books, so no concern there. As for recommendations... this is not the best thread for this, but my go to series for Brandon fans usually include Kingkiller Chronicle by Patrick Rothfuss Lightbringer by Brent Weeks Powder Mage by Brian McClellan Dresden Files by Jim Butcher Chronicle of the Unhewn Throne by Brian Staveley

I thought - though I am not sure why - that Wax went back and checked the belt. It would be supremely stupid of him not to.

Marginally better. Conceptually I should've loved them - much of what I liked about Malazan had to with the depth of the world, and much of what I disliked had to do with how vague so many things were; so a series where so many of the mysteries are revealed should've been one I loved. But it's not because it's so incredibly difficult to read. I don't think I've read more than 20 pages in a single sitting.

I've been stuck on Fall of Light for over a month, and I am barely over halfway done. I just don't want to read this thing...
-
It was almost exactly 18 months for not only me, but a lot of other people.

Are Splinters tied to their world?

Well, there's this: Source. -
Man, turnaround time is short these days. Back in my day we had to wait for about 18 months to get it...
-
Given the nature of the Dor, I imagine Sel's Cognitive Realm is actually a little more interesting than the other Shardworlds', so Brandon wouldn't want to reveal it outside of a book.

For me to get it tattooed on my chest, back, and forehand, that's what it's used for!

Graphic Audio Adaptations Master Thread
Argent replied to Argent's topic in General Brandon Discussion
Gah, he posts updates all over the place! -
I WAS NOT AWARE OF THIS, HOW HAVE I MISSED IT???? On a different note, I could've swore Allomancer Jak and... something else not listed by Tor were confirmed by Brandon not too long ago.
-
("those introductory events" refers to The Alloy of Law prologue, I guess that didn't get transcribed. Maybe somebody can update the database accordingly.)
-
Honestly, I may have asked that. I don't remember...
-
Just today I was thinking how much I would like to see Brandon write a book where the main character is the villain of the story - and I think another Perfect State novel, centered around Melhi, would be perfect for that.
-
Are we not going to talk about this?
-
I like it! Kenton has never looked amazing to me (in both official and unofficial art), but he just doesn't look that remarkable in the first place. Khriss is great though.

PAFO, as far as I know, as actually more widely recognized as Peter And Find Out - a play on RAFO (Read And Find Out), but it requires Peter's input, likely due to technical details Brandon doesn't remember well enough on the spot. Maybe it's just about different contexts.

On desktop, there is a timestamp (e.g. "June 14", or "7 hr") all the way to the right, which I can click and go to the last post. I see it is also available on mobile, right under the last commenter's avatar.

I take it back, we clearly have the superior holiday.
