  1. Did you print them at a store though? I think it would be cool to get some "Hello, my name is ..." stickers with a 17S theme for the AU Chicago signing.
  2. A fair clarification.
  3. I don't know. I have only intuition here.
  4. This might be just semantics, but I don't think Arclo is controlling his hordelings as much as he is the hordelings. Kind of like a hive mind, but... different.
  5. Oh, come on, that's just mean!
  6. Are we... are we the same person!?
  7. Is Resonance now the official term? It picks on something in the back of my head, but I can't quite put my finger it...
  8. Ditto. Ditto. Ditto. Ditto. GET OUT OF MY HEAD!
  9. @VirtuousTraveller, the entire thread is already flagged for AU spoilers, you don't need to use spoiler tags inside As to your question, maybe. I doubt it, but I think there is something fishy about the presence of those gas giants. They don't feel normal.
  10. A lot of Arclo's hordelings look... unique. Specialized. Like the ones that are essentially his eyes. I think Edgedancer is the first time we hear about strange cremlings, though it is interesting how Lift remarks that it's "weird how you could forget you were in a different country until you saw the cremlings." I wonder if different Sleepless are monitoring all the nations of Roshar...
  11. It's possible, but the Tashikki are both close to, and culturally influenced by the Azish - and the Azish call Jezrien Yaezir. Furthermore, when Lift is getting her reports of "strange" things happening around the city, one of the scribes reports a "man who says he saw the shape of Yaezir in the lichen on his wall." I find this a compelling argument for Tashi and Jezrien being different entities.
  12. It's what I would've thought, but I can't match it.
  13. Man, I am hours behind the first readers, and already I feel like I am falling behind on the discussions! I'll need to go over my notes for details, but off the top of my (hyped) head: I feel really smug for guessing Lift's second Ideal pretty much exactly way way before she said it. I had guessed it would be something like "I will listen to those are unheard" - all this talk about her listening felt a bit heavyhanded, and thus - obvious. The art piece for the novella looks great. I was having some difficulty imagining how these... cities in troughs we've heard about would like, so I am glad this settles it. I also think it's a really neat idea to hire all the available Shardblades and cut a new city. It's very much a thing that adds flavor to the world. I hope Wyndle never stops grumbling. Wyndle was supposed to bond with Ym, that was neat! Seeing a Dysian Aimian - and the one who likely wrote the back cover blurbs of the first two Stormlight books no less - was a nice treat. I can see how some people might've not been enthusiastic about creatures like this walking the earth, and so would've scoured Aimia. Did anyone pick on who Tashi might be? Nale speaks like he knows him.
  14. Wyndle certainly implies so.
  15. If I recall correctly, Khriss says that Odium went after Ambition "soon after the Shattering," when he mortally wounded our newest Shard. Ambition's Splintering didn't happen until later, though how much later is impossible to say.
  16. Aye, definitely a Dysian. I briefly thought he might be a Herald, based on the strange powers he showed and the familiarity with which he spoke of Nale, but his dialogue made it pretty clear - I think - that he is a Dysian. I do wonder if all Sleepless are... made up... of the same kind of hordelings, or if different individuals are composed of different animals. I think my terminology is not quite right here...
  17. This naming scheme is my favorite small thing from the entire collection.
  18. Did you get those custom-made?
  19. Yeah, valid point. I have some notes on my Kindle on all the essays, but they mostly run along similar lines. I am really excited that we got a new Shard. Unlike many other reveals in the Cosmere, the number of times we get to learn about a new Shard is very much fixed, and so each feels like a treat. I also very much like the names of the planets in the Threnodite system. I hope there is a story behind them, and we get to learn it.
  20. My copy should arrive today (I hope), so I'll take a look at that and then rejoin this discussion Thank you.
  21. I trusted my Kindle to (temporarily) skip over stories, and I think I must've missed all that. I saw each system's individual star chart and essay, but none of this... bigger stuff. Where can I find it (once I am done with work )?
  22. I thought it was him when I read that passage too, though I didn't think of his Words of Radiance quote. The white hair, weird mannerisms, and especially the wink sounded too much like him.
  23. Huh. This is... ambiguous.
  24. That's a really good idea, I think I would like to get something like this going for the Chicago signings too.
  25. Funny you should ask this... Source
