As you should, really. I am just playing a dangerous game, with my mind at stake But with this, I am out. It's turning into too dangerous of a game.

Are you talking about the preview chapters? Because, technically, this is only about the Glimpses of Radiance we get via emails...

Hurrr hurrr. If only someone could shed some light on the storm of newcomers these days...
-
Heh. I did read the other preview chapters, so I know the itch to find out what happens in 7. But I had to try to come here and reply - twice! - without reading anything.

You are surprisingly... alive.

So very difficult to comment here without reading something spoilery... But I want to take all of Words in written form.

Brandon's Introduction was posted on the Tor/Forge blog
Argent replied to The Rooster's topic in Stormlight Archive
The different ways you can look at Words of Radiance is definitely my favorite part of the article. It's the second book of the first five-book arc of a series with two of those arcs, but it's also a trilogy, and a collection of short stories, and a novella / novelette, plus a work of art. -
Well. On one side, meeting up would be nice. On the other, splitting up and covering both events (for extra questions and/or the possibility of recording a new reading) has its appeal too.

So, turns out you can battle one addiction with another. I started playing The Elder Scrolls Online today, and I haven't even thought about Words of Radiance in the past hour. Then, of course, my game crashed and here I am...

And yet Shallan is just perfect on the endpages portrait.

Depends what the real one is called, I imagine.

Okay, after reading the entire thread I have come to the realization that I am bad at reviewing and analyzing things. For me the movie was just good. I liked it, and that's all. I don't rationalize why. Thanks all for making me feel inferior!

We are in such a sad state right now... Addiction is horrible thing.

I had a dream where Brandon answers my personalization request on my pre-order from Weller. I woke up excited that I can post the answer here (the name of the Spiritual Realm essentially) and took me almost a full hour to realize that's not exactly canon... EDIT: For the curious ones - it was something starting with 'C' and had 5 letters. What made me realize it was all a dream was the fact that it didn't contain neither "shade(s)" nor "mar" - one of which I figure means "realm."

That's such a bad estimate. You just can't say a Stormlight books is going to be anything under 800...
-
Or an addict with both, so we can discuss after. I also just called a few other stores. One of them got my hopes up, but then broke my heart with some nonsense about how it's illegal to sell it early...
-
It's possible, I suppose... But I wouldn't bet on them being the same person. My money goes on another worldhopper, maybe writing to Galladon and friends.
-
Do you honestly think I wouldn't use every single one of my clones to read?

I just saw the movie yesterday. Liked it, but I'll need more time to go through this thread and comment adequately. I must say though, as a delusional reader of epic fantasy and an escapist, the Let It Go scenes left me itching and tingling hands, ready to swing about and cast some magic of my own. I've always been a sucker for massive and impressive displays of power from characters who have been on the quiet end of things. Also, the dynamics between Elsa and Anna before Elsa's escape were just so. Much. Better. Anna, all excited and full of life, but growing slightly subdued around Elsa; and Elsa, all calm, and stately, and reserved, and quiet, and serious, but growing a little more lively around Anna. It was perfect.

It's an example. For all we know it's the first 5-book arc that deals with the Everstorm, and the second half of the series is all about, I don't know, taking the fight to Odium or something.

Forehead Bridge 4 tattoo has the best effortlessness-to-awesomeness ration, I think. Pretty easy and cheap to make, very obvious what you've done.
-
I broke... Called my local Barnes & Noble, despite everyone's reports that they won't sell it early. The fact that I am here, on the forums, and not in my bed reading should tell you how successful I was...
-
It also makes sense in-world. More time will pass between books 5 and 6 than between any other two consecutive books in The Stormlight Archive. It's similar to gap between The Hero of Ages and The Allow of Law, but not quite as dramatic - some time has passed, some characters are gone, some new ones have shown up, the theme is mostly still the same, but it has evolved. For example (and I don't know whether this will be the case), the Everstorm could hit around the end of book #5. This way the first arc will have been about our characters trying to prevent / mitigate the damage, while the second one will deal with them trying to survive / rebuild.

So we don't derail the thread, could you PM me that extra bit of information that tipped you off about the ending of Cold Days? I might have an idea, but if it's that, then you must've made quite the leap of logic. Or faith. Or guess. Or crackpot theorycrafting.
