  1. I was updating my list of questions (link in my signature) earlier, and realized I am starting to run low on questions - in fact, some of the Shardworlds don't have any right now! So, as I think about what I want to add to it, I am also kind of opening it to suggestions. No promises that I will use anything, but if something looks interesting enough to me, I might adopt it.
  2. Anyone eager to transcribe (or keep an eye on the transcriptions as they come up), you can do so here: https://wob.coppermind.net/events/369-skyward-bay-area-signing/
  3. Hey, make sure you come say hi! The Q&A is open (i.e. Brandon just picks questions from the audience), but spoilers of any kind are generally frowned upon. So you can ask Cosmere questions, but try to dance around spoilers. For example, if you have read The Way of Kings: The event will be taking place in the church, but it is being organized by the bookshop, so any questions you have should be directed to Anderson's.
  4. @the.fulgid, do you want to transcribe those from audio in Arcanum?
  5. Find me! I usually sit away from the signing line, putting together a group of local-ish friends, we should be able to give you a few names to talk to. Arriving late shouldn't be a problem. I don't know about the ticket situation though, I could see it going either way. You could check with the venue.
  6. I believe all your questions were answered in the other thread so I am going to lock this one. Feel free to PM me if that was not the case.
  7. Trust me, that's better. I'd sacrifice the entire Chicago crowd if it could somehow lead to more quality Brandon-time instead of a policy investigation...
  8. In a shocking turn of events, Brandon has pulled a secret signing out of his sleeve! Atlanta, GA joins the list of Skyward tour stops: Use this thread to coordinate your attendance and stuff.
  9. Trust me, we've all been there. I've been in this fandom for a decade, have met Brandon almost every year, and I still get my tongue twisted sometimes. And, as someone who has gone through dozens of hours of audio on Arcanum, I can assure you that gushing about your favorites is something Brandon genuinely enjoys, so no shame there! You could post them here (preferably behind a spoiler tag, just in case) and ask for feedback. Find a buddy when you get there. Standing in line alone is not fun, and with the number of people from this community who will be going, you should easily be able to arrange some meetup. The social aspect of those events is nearly as valuable and memorable as meeting Brandon himself.
  10. New headcanon says Dalinar supercharges Radiants by slapping them.
  11. I like Threnody as a source or inspiration for the organization. Secret History left me feeling like the Shades are a much bigger deal in the Cosmere than Shadows for Silence in the Forests of Hell suggests, so approaching this idea from a very different - and distant - direction might pay for itself a decade or two down the line.
  12. Having a good is definitely the right priority Welcome, hope we don't scare you away.
  13. I think I am with Cal on this one. Honorblades are a... wire to the reservoir of power in the Spiritual Realm, and anyone who wields them can tap into that power at will. What I think Dalinar is doing is building his own wire whenever he wants, and then plugging it into someone else (though he could probably charge himself too). I think it is this act of holding the door open that's exhausting to him. He could probably do the same for an Honorblade, but I don't see why it would be any less tiring.
  14. Uh, we probably should, given the sheer volume of answers we've gotten in the last month, but we are going to need to be super picky about what we talk about, because otherwise we'll end up with a 12-hour episode...
  15. I'll take an issue with this because I am pretty sure Brandon had decided to turn The Alloy of Law into a series before it even hit the shelves. He just liked the it. So, if anything, the feedback was coming from himself. This being said, I suppose he is a bit on the competent end.

    Phrasing a WoB

I like both the the question and how it is phrased Also, I am also going to Chicago (and have been for a while), so feel free to flag me down and say hi!
  17. Heh, I think you'll find that most people have finished every book, and have a ton of theories
  18. I am glad somebody is noticing these things
  19. That'd be cool, I dig it.
  20. If your deadline approaches, shoot me a PM and I'll take care of it. Don't want to steal the spotlight early on though
  21. A little bit, I suppose, but in the same way that... robbing a stranger on the street is the same as asking a friend for some cash. The net result of both (the receiving of) a Hemalurgic spike and (the formation of) a Nahel bond is that you end up with foreign Investiture in your Spiritweb, and that foreign Investiture allows you to do manipulate the power of creation. In one case you are just stapling the ability or attribute you are interested in to your soul, and now you have it; in the other, you have to work with another sapient being to the point where your souls merge a little bit, and both of you get some benefit from having foreign sDNA.
  22. I think giving everyone more information about what you are doing would also help you find an interviewee.
