Right, sure, but the second one says that "Wax was intended as a savant of the two melded powers." So, in a non-canon way, his Resonance and his savantism have to match.
-
Wax is... weird. First, there is this WoB that says "Wax is really good at sculpting bullets and things away from him" and that "these two separate powers are kind of becoming one to him," which is what he was becoming a savant of. But then, there is this one as well, in which Brandon talks about potentially backpedaling from Wax's savantism, essentially because it doesn't have any downsides right now. So... Wax is weird.

Yeah, it's Anderson's, though the actual location is... some church nearby. We've outgrown the bookstore itself

waves from Chicago Welcome! Brandon will be in Naperville on November 16, you should 100% try to make it there
-
It is not. He dropped the name for the first time in Bulgaria - which, given its remote location, he may have been a little careless in: He's been cagey ever since.
-
This one flew under the radar for a while, but Brandon is doing a random signing in the Orem Public Library today. Details on his website. Obviously this is a biiit of a short notice, but will anyone be going?

Skyward: Nov 16, 2018 [Naperville, IL] (Community Christian Church)
Argent replied to Argent's topic in Events and Signings
Hype! You can try finding me when you arrive (I'll probably share a photo closer to the event, once I decide how much beard to have), and I hope to whip more than few people into being a community, at least for the time being. -
Singers don't hear screams of dead shardblades?
Argent replied to Lewis Nethur's topic in Stormlight Archive
But that was a result of Adolin trying to summon Maya; she doesn't scream all the time. Surgebinders who wield Shardblades in the Physical Realm can hear the screams whenever they touch the Blade, not just when they try to summon it. -
That's why I thought I had asked this! Gah, it was just a weird feeling seeing Brandon's answer and realized it was Page who had asked it.

Hmm. Let me see if I can rephrase that so you can confirm whether we are on the same page or not. In the standard model, bosons are "interaction/force carriers" and fermions are... related to matter (e.g. leptons & quarks, which are both fermions, are what matter is composed of). In our universe this may be enough (I am ignoring plektons for now, as they are hypothetical), since everything is either matter or energy/interaction, but in a different universe - say, the Cosmere - where there is a third component to the matter-energy equation, we can imagine a third category of elementary particles, one that deals with the investiture of stuff; and plektons are a convenient label for this third category. If I understood all of this correct... then sure? I am comfortable with introducing a new category of particles (beyond bosons and fermions) to explain how investiture interacts on the subatomic level. In fact, I'd love for Brandon to grab a bunch of theoretical physicists and tell them "figure out a way for magic to work in an expanded standard model". I'd say we should call those... khrissons.

Skyward: Nov 12, 2018 [Anchorage, AK] (Barnes & Noble #2784)
Argent replied to Argent's topic in Events and Signings
Signings are about having fun and meeting Brandon and fellow fans, don't need experience for that -
Go give yourself credit on Arcanum if you haven't already
-
Not at all, though we've known about these three for several years now.

Skyward 2 Second Draft Finished, Other Book Plans, And Custom Steel Alphabet Rings
Argent commented on Chaos's article in Brandon and Book News
Aww, that's practically two years with no Cosmere stories. 5 more and we'll be making GRRM jokes about Brandon.- 13 comments

I wonder what's up with the theme of beauty in these books. Not necessarily in the books, but in their titles. Skin Deep is an obvious reference to the saying "beauty is (only) skin deep", and Lies of the Beholder is a wordplay on "beauty is in the eye(s) of the beholder"...

I am in a group chat with Peter and a bunch of other people, and he mentioned an inaccuracy on what I assume is this page. He said I could update the Coppermind with this information, but I am garbage at Coppermind stuff, so I'll leave this for someone else to take care of: Or, in text form:

Hype! Yeah, he was pretty sick last time, and I also hope he is feeling better this time. Chicago is often a late step in his tours, so there's plenty of opportunities for people to give him something, but he is usually fine, so I am willing to flag last year as a fluke. -
I would've liked this idea, but there is a WoB that says that "[crem and the Purelake] existed on the planet before Cultivation arrived." Now, so did highstorms, and they now carry what we are starting to believe is Honor's Investiture, so it's fully possible that Cultivation pulled a similar thing and crem carries hers. Which, in turn, could play into the Shard poop WoB, as well as crem's beneficial properties for farming. So maybe I do like it after all

Hey, welcome! Those Internet packets have been traveling a long way to get to our servers, they must be tired, send them some company I'd expect a proper lurker like yourself to know everything about all of us by now (in which case, please don't tell anyone about all the socks on my floor), but I would be remiss if I didn't mention the Coppermind (our wiki) and Arcanum (our WoB archive), links to both of which you can find in the bar up top. You know, in case you somehow missed them.

Legion: The Many Lives of Stephen Leeds Release Party
Argent replied to Wyndlerunner's topic in Events and Signings
@Jozomby, once the audio is public on Arcanum, you can either find your question and transcribe it, or - if it's already transcribed - edit it with your name in there. -
I've made some updates to my write-up here, mostly in preparation for the Skyward tour. Mostly fixed up the sentences, renamed "The Arcanist" section to "The Recorder" (to more accurately reflect that we use the term Arcanist for a very specific group of people at the moment), and added some misc notes that have been brewing in my head for a while.

Fall is the best season for reading in general. Nothing like curling by the window, hot drink in hand, book before your face, and some truly nasty weather outside. Check out Brandon's Skyward tour (we have topics in the Events forum) if you haven't already, you might get a chance to meet him in a couple of months.
