  1. It beggars belief that adding another House costs $15k a pop. It's an oversized card. I backed this cause I like this kind of game, but the money they are asking for is extremely inflated, judging by other KS that are similar in size and components.
  2. Both Comixology and iBooks list 6/29. Interesting $$ discrepancy. It's $25 on Comixology and $13 on iBooks. Big jump there.
  3. Interesting bit in that signing report about how fans are becoming alpha, beta, gamma readers and the dangerousness of spoilers that implies. Seems like anything in unpublished works shouldn't be discussed in public like that. Kind of irresponsible of the pre-publication readers.
  4. Nyali, you clearly play a lot of games and have a lot of experience with board games. Citing BSG and Dune as perfectly thematic games based on IPs is very insightful. You aren't alone in wishing the Mistborn game was focused less on the houses and more on the crew. However, when I read the rules, I was immediately intrigued by the House interaction. Collectively contribute resources to overcome a city wide problem then gain a portion of the favor. I like that. It lets it be very open and interactive, not guided by precise rules. I don't think the "anything goes" examples in the rule book will actually happen during actual game play, as most players will be focused on the game. But it's probably up to the game group. My group may have a little fun with it, but otherwise will be looking to overcome problems by straighter means. What Pagerunner says about how niche the RPG is makes a lot of sense in how they developed this game. It's developed so you don't need a deep knowledge of the world (like BSG or Dune, actually) to make sense of how to play the game. For me, personally, the biggest problem with this game is that by playing as the Houses, you are playing as slave owners and using slaves as resources. That doesn't exactly seem "fun." I probably would have left out skaa as a resource. It will be very curious to see what happens when the game KS launches and comments start rolling in from a wider fandom/customer base.
  5. They are asking for help on promoting it. Go to this link and you can view another link to see a preview of the game: http://gamerati.nouncy.com/mistborn-house-war/#/ Images, details, prices, etc.
  6. Cookies are acting a little weird. I input the password for White Sand and that worked fine, but when I went to Aether of Night, it was acting like that was the field input for White Sand and vice versa.
  7. Surprised no one talking about this new update (I know there was the old thread, but now it's shiny): http://brandonsanderson.com/announcing-the-mistborn-house-war-board-game/
  8. 2 bookstores near me are on the list of participating stores, but I'm not quite sure how it works. You just show up and ask for one?
  9. Goodreads has a White Sand cover. Hello Khriss. https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/28862254-white-sand-volume-1
  10. I'm sure he thinks about this, but it worries because of how he constantly says he wants Stormlight to come out every other year. Almost 3 books in, that hasn't happened and he's added more books since he started. Hopefully he works on some of these Cosmere/post-Stormlight books as his off projects.
  11. Let's be honest, Stormlight is definitely on a 3-4 year cycle, so Stormlight 10 has a chance of being out in 2045, about 30 years from now. If Mistborn in Space and Dragonsteel can't be written until after Stormlight 10...
  12. I think if Khriss and Nazh were part of the 17S, that we would have more indication those two are overlapping with the organization anywhere. They seem to be operating separately, much like the Ghostbloods seem to be worldhoppers but not necessarily 17S. Worldhopper doesn't automatically signify 17S.
  13. Oh wow, I missed this one. Thanks. Massively similar character, though.
  14. I'm still pretty convinced Vathi in Sixth of the Dusk is Khriss. This Twitter q/a lends me to believe that more. View conversation
  15. I was trying to read through the twitter chat and got distracted. But I did see Brandon say he was thinking about a book set on Threnody, so he was RAFOing a question about it.
  16. I think the "if he could make it happen" is hinting that maybe Hoid's goals are not realistic. Perhaps he wants to put Adonalsium back together but that's not actually possible to do.
  17. When I characterize Kelsier as being ego-driven and casting himself as the savior, I'm taking into account Vin's very insightful parting words to him about not really knowing what love is. It speaks to how Kelsier views his actions. He requires validation and that validation is what makes him feel "love." Which is clearly what he got in the South. Except that that version of love was adulation and deification by the people he saved. It's kind of icky.
  18. I assume BoM details are allowed in this. Given the implications for the end of that, it's about pure ego for Kelsier. Not only did he stick around longer than he really needed to, he felt the need to cast himself in the savior/leader role again with the South. Has a massive superiority complex and really needs validation.
  19. Very interesting! I'm glad it was at least brought up. I can see how the decision would be made but it definitely threw me out of the story for a couple minutes while I had to go back and check the intervening pages as well as reread the Suit plummet.
  20. Oh, it's totally possible for him to have done that, but it seems a bit sloppy to just not even mention it. It's too much "show" and not enough "tell" in writing parlance.
  21. I didn't even notice that, but I did find it odd that Brandon was talking about it on Reddit and no one had said anything here. Of course, the insiders knew about it before everyone else.
  22. Perhaps this is more appropriate for a Typos thread (is there one yet), but it really bugs me that Wax drops the Bands out of the airship window as it's moving and plummets to the ground with Suit separately, then next time we see Wax, he has the Bands again. Not even a slight mention of "oh yeah, I went back for them, of course." I don't normally like to criticize Brandon's writing, but this seems like a very weird and very big thing to skip over.
