"Well..." Sam said, "I'm back."
"Well..." Thaidakar said, settling in his seat, looking nervously at the screen, "I'm unmuted."
Some of you might be asking "Muted? That happened?" Lol.
"But what was it for?" some of you may be querying. Well... suffice it to say that I said something in response to something that wasn't in good taste the way it came across. It was a combination of me turning a blind eye to something that was blatantly obvious and the fact that I left a gap the size of all of it where the context should've gone.
I won't go into details because it would be annoying to do it again when I just sent it to the mod who, I presume, muted me.
Now, for fun stuff-
I got my sword! It's so cool! I might give an image later, but I don't want to get up yet. I've been fighting with my cousin a bunch with it. He has a katana. For context to those who missed it: I ordered a grosse messer boshin training sword impulsively.
Thanks to everyone who gave me birthday wishes! I got an epic package from my best friend yesterday. It had a DUCK and a shirt with "Stranger Danger!" emblazoned on it. My callsign, like in Skyward, is "Stranger" and the duck is because we've been exchanging emails and we had this whole running joke about ducks. She also gave me a bunch of poems and songs she'd made (most of them are about another friend of mine who she's totally not dating. Not at aaaaallll. You can tell I'm being sarcastic by the lack of truth in my words-)
I started rereading The Way of Kings! I finished Sunlit man, interrupting my read of Dune, and was like 'AHHHHH I have to start Stormlight again! REFERENCES!" So... I've started my reread early!
Also, I need some positive, yet with a great beat, songs to listen to. Most of the stuff I was listening to was all dark and dreary. (Why can't you write us some happy raps, Nate?
please get the reference.)One last thing! @The Aspiring Archivist, I'm going to get you the response to the PM in the next two to three days, I'd just decided to get back to that on the camping trip that I was on when I got muted.

mmmmm...
I can't wait till I finish the book I'm working on someday so that I can make the insane sequel where I'm going to do a billion different things all at once- Though, I'll probably put some of it into this book.

My unsolicited advice?
Set yourself a writing goal, and figure out how many days of writing it'll take you to get it done. Start with 20 minutes a day, or 300 words. Increase that once you find a rhythm. Make it happen. Build in some rest days so you don't get demoralized if you miss for some reason, but get yourself a checklist so you really feel accomplished as you tick those boxes.
You're still in early stages, which means very soon it'll be very hard to not just quit cause the story feels stupid. Every one of my stories, no matter how good, hits a few points where I want to quit. 10%, 15%, 25%, all very hard moments. The middle is still hard, but it gets easier. And then the end... you feel like you're flying. Every day you look forward to being able to put those words down and get one step closer to having a book.
The only way to get there is to write every day. Don't think you don't have time, make time. 20 minutes a day isn't a lot. You'll finish this book before you know it. And then it'll be time for the sequel.
Good luck, you've got this.
