  1. Aint that the truth- See, it's usually one of two things. We guys don't want to think that people have feelings for us because it makes us feel weird, mostly because we don't know what to do (well, almost all of us). What winds up happening is these: 1) we ignore/not notice it for a good while. 2) or... we see what is either there or not there and get overly confident. I've been in both situation. In the first... it was just... *dies inside.* Don't start with something too bold, that's my advice. Well, bold in a bad way. Such as... if you ask to do something that his group seems to consider bold. If a guy is ignoring you on purpose... hmm... it depends on the guy, but just cornering him so that you force him to talk to you might work. Heh. Honestly, that's how it seems. And... *blinks* *blinks again* *flashbacks* *dies inside* *remembers* Sorry- I just remembered... ahHh... I'll give another post in a minute to explain.
  2. But... Do I realize? Jk. I do see the fact that y'all see it like that, but then some of you go and do something confusing like "Girls would love to be asked to dance! I know I would..." lol. That is, indeed, as the title says, true.
  3. I wish I had the self control to dedicate my free time to writing my book.
  4. "Well..." Sam said, "I'm back."

"Well..." Thaidakar said, settling in his seat, looking nervously at the screen, "I'm unmuted."

Some of you might be asking "Muted? That happened?" Lol.

"But what was it for?" some of you may be querying. Well... suffice it to say that I said something in response to something that wasn't in good taste the way it came across. It was a combination of me turning a blind eye to something that was blatantly obvious and the fact that I left a gap the size of all of it where the context should've gone.

I won't go into details because it would be annoying to do it again when I just sent it to the mod who, I presume, muted me.

    Now, for fun stuff-

I got my sword! It's so cool! I might give an image later, but I don't want to get up yet. I've been fighting with my cousin a bunch with it. He has a katana. For context to those who missed it: I ordered a grosse messer boshin training sword impulsively.

Thanks to everyone who gave me birthday wishes! I got an epic package from my best friend yesterday. It had a DUCK and a shirt with "Stranger Danger!" emblazoned on it. My callsign, like in Skyward, is "Stranger" and the duck is because we've been exchanging emails and we had this whole running joke about ducks. She also gave me a bunch of poems and songs she'd made (most of them are about another friend of mine who she's totally not dating. Not at aaaaallll. You can tell I'm being sarcastic by the lack of truth in my words-)

I started rereading The Way of Kings! I finished Sunlit man, interrupting my read of Dune, and was like 'AHHHHH I have to start Stormlight again! REFERENCES!" So... I've started my reread early!

Also, I need some positive, yet with a great beat, songs to listen to. Most of the stuff I was listening to was all dark and dreary. (Why can't you write us some happy raps, Nate? please get the reference.)

One last thing! @The Aspiring Archivist, I'm going to get you the response to the PM in the next two to three days, I'd just decided to get back to that on the camping trip that I was on when I got muted.

They are all definitely more acoustic (the second one is acapella with some pretty good layered beatboxing), but the rhythm of the instruments are really great. They just make me feel like I can take on anything.

  5. Because I'm still figuring out my storming schedule and I'm figuring out how many role-plays I can do while still getting a load of writing done.
  6. wish I could join- Maybe in the next few... If y'all do a Scythe, WoT, Wingfeather, Grishaverse or Dune themed one... put me in automatically. Especially for Dune and Grishaverse, I could do some awesome things there.
  7. ????? WAIT WHAT HAVE YOU DONE? CRAAAAP~
  8. This is not the end of this story. this isn't about this story at all that I've thrown on here. This is something entirely different. I just wanted a place to tell people about it. This is something I may add to an end of like a middle book in a series or the end of a stand alone, it'll depend. Now, imagine this, a key character, not the perspective character, but someone vitally important to the story. This character seems to know what to do the whole time, seems to drive everything in the plot, has everything under control, has a million things happening, but is always keeping his cool. This character seems to stop their opponents with ease, seeming to anticipate every moment. Until they don't. Then, the protagonist character there, they begin dying because of something. As they die, the protagonist character weeping, they're asked how they did it all. Then they say with one last smile, "I improvised it. every bit of it. The key to being in control, my friend, is to pretend that you have it... I'm no genius, I never had a master plan, I didn't know what I was doing. They just thought I did and I acted like I did... So... they went along with it. *laughs turn into coughs* I fooled them all... even you. I wish you luck in this life, young friend. Pray that you never fall as I have. The secret to control, you must remember, is to reconcile yourself with the fact that you simply don't have it. *dies*"
  9. Ooooh, Axies and Nightblood would be epic! It's been, what, nine years since we've seen axies on screen?
  10. mmmmm...

I can't wait till I finish the book I'm working on someday so that I can make the insane sequel where I'm going to do a billion different things all at once- Though, I'll probably put some of it into this book.

All I'm saying is I struggle with that mentality too. The sequel isn't what sells the first page, its the other way around.

    3. The Isochronism

      The Isochronism

      My unsolicited advice?

Set yourself a writing goal, and figure out how many days of writing it'll take you to get it done. Start with 20 minutes a day, or 300 words. Increase that once you find a rhythm. Make it happen. Build in some rest days so you don't get demoralized if you miss for some reason, but get yourself a checklist so you really feel accomplished as you tick those boxes.

You're still in early stages, which means very soon it'll be very hard to not just quit cause the story feels stupid. Every one of my stories, no matter how good, hits a few points where I want to quit. 10%, 15%, 25%, all very hard moments. The middle is still hard, but it gets easier. And then the end... you feel like you're flying. Every day you look forward to being able to put those words down and get one step closer to having a book.

The only way to get there is to write every day. Don't think you don't have time, make time. 20 minutes a day isn't a lot. You'll finish this book before you know it. And then it'll be time for the sequel.

      Good luck, you've got this.

  11. *evil laugh in getting closer to my ultimate goal of top of yearly* I do, actually, love looking at it and watching the numbers fluctuate. It's just so storming entertaining to see the different titles and such!
  12. Thanks! I realize that with one of the things I said on here probably was very, very, very worrying without context. I probably should've added that I was uncomfortable with the way they were talking about it. I'll take this advantage to go reread the code of conduct so I can keep it in mind if further things like this come up! Hope you have a wonderful day!
  13. I nick the sandwich off of you and run for the hills.
  14. I see that, true. At this point, I most likely won't have another Sharder's pfp except for like one or two specific scenarios (such as if someone who a lot of people including myself was fond of and we want to put on their pfp as a kind of farewell.) For hypothetical purposes, I'm assuming that if someone were to put on someone else's pfp and be like, "Hey, I'm finally good looking!" in a genuine way, would it be considered impersonation and thus incriminating or would it be considered all in good fun and let fly? This isn't because I'd try to do that in specific, but because I'm curious on what the reaction would be.
  15. It wouldn't, if it ever happen, been impersonating mods. We would all still have our regular usernames, just the mod's profile picture and quotes from that mod in our member titles. This is all fairly hypothetical because I doubt I'll ever put in the work to make it happen, but it is a possibility. If wearing a mod's pfp is considered impersonating by y'all, I'll be glad to cease and desist with this idea.
  16. Reading secret project four.
  17. Ene, this is a question I've pondered which mod to ask for at least a few days. This may wind up being theoretical. It may not. It's all very subjective. If, per se, a large portion of the community had a certain mod's profile picture on with quotes from that mod in their member title, for like a day or two, would people get mad about it? Would y'all, the mods, dislike it? Would it be okay? I'm mostly asking because I found the perfect quote and want to be able to use it (it's soooo funny!). Now for an actual question for you. This is equally as important to me. What is your favorite kind of pizza? (idk why I felt the need to make it seem dramatic... but I did, so that's that-)
  18. Mistborn era four book 0.5 is just a picture book about a godmetal climbing up a hill.
