  1. Found this and burst out laughing so hard. Hardest I've laughed in, what, a month? two months? three? Idk, but something about "You bastard" made me just crack up. "Thaidakar, you bastard, I love you so much." - @CalanoCorvus
  2. It's funny. I'm not the type of person to really like talk to a lot of people usually (sometimes I am and I'm working on it, but usually), but I can generally know what the group might need or want, though when it comes to more complex stuff I don't got a clue usually (such as when people are in love with other people or how they might want to approach issues such as politics when the members of the group have a wide variety of opinions). Luckily, when it comes to church things, I don't have to deal with stuff like that as much, just fun things like activities. We had an avid discussion last sunday about what quarterly meant... it was hilarious.
  3. Me half of the time: I DON'T WANT TO LEAD! I DON'T WANT TO DO ANY OF THE DECIDING EVERYTHING! Me the other half of the time: and I want to be a part of the stake youth council and I want to be a part of the ward youth council... Basically, I convinced my bishop mostly unintentionally that I should be on another stake youth council... Life's great Also, a quarter of the year is three months, not four-

Hey, it's because I decided I didn't want to be represented by an angry scholar. I'm trying to find one that actually fits. Maybe I'll settle on an empty bed with a sign that says "Not used in weeks" over it.

  6. Huh. Adolin or Elhokar. I thought it was Elhokar proving that Dalinar should be the High king.
  7. New desktop wallpaper!
  8. It's when you have a nightmare about pouring orange juice into your cereal that you start to question your sanity.

Ok, fine, it wasn't a nightmare, just a dream, but when I started to reach for the orange juice this morning it felt like a nightmare.

It does depend on the cereal... but having it with a cinnamon cheerios was not what I wanted this morning.

  10. Welcome to the Shard!
  11. the survival/wisdom/prudence shard should be called Savvy and, in a cosmere adaptation, should be played by Johnny Depp.

Johnny Depp played Jack Sparrow, whose catchphrase is basically “Savvy?”

Johnny Depp was Jack Sparrow, as Kajsa said.

      Savvy?

  13. I just got back from a bookstore in downtown! It was so cool! I got five books, which added up to a stack of dollars (64, lol).

First off... I got Dark Force Rising, the sequel to Heir To The Empire. I'll finally be able to continue that trilogy... whenever I get to it, probably next year (I got so many books to read.)

Second, I got two Discoworld books!!! I decided that I don't want to start with the Color of Magic. Instead, I have my second and third choices for starting since Mort wasn't there. Going Postal and Guards! Guards!

And finally... I got both Name of the Wind and The Wise Man's Fear! Bloody storming metals have I been wanting to read these big guys. However, I do want to know when I should skip like 200 pages in Wise Man's Fear like @Edema Rue suggested. I am wary about going into these because of the whole charity scam that Rothfuss may or may not have done. I read the prologue and a page of the first chapter of this and already know this is going to be a masterwork worthy to adorn my shelves.

ANyways- I'm organizing my room and shelves because I've been intending to do it for a good long while. This is gonna be fun-

I do think that I'm just going to finish WoK and dive into the mountain of books that I still need to read (it's like 20 or so titles long now). My reading slump is coming to an end hopefully, so I'll be able to actually read fast again! Huzzah! Hopefully I'll be able to emerge back into my 100 pages an hour speeds in the next few months, but for now I'm good with a third or a half of that.

I love Going Postal! My dad and I read it a few years ago and it was so funny. Moist von Lipwig, right? Apparently his name means moist mustache.

moist mustache! hah! I'm looking forward to it!

AHhh, I'll go look at that.

  14. That's insanely awesome!
  15. I think we all think something along the lines of that when it comes to cool fictional characters.
  16. Wait, do you mean me in relation to Elend Venture? Heh- I wish I was like Elend. Instead of being like Elend, I'm like the Walmart version of Elend.
  17. It can be! Or it can be fun. A few dances ago I was asked to dance and we had an avid conversation about Keeper of the Lost Cities among other books.
  18. Breaking Brad! Hah! Can't wait to watch the episode tomorrow night, I aint got time tonight.
  19. For a good minute I was there to ask people to dance- then I spent like a month or two away from dancing and have been trying to force myself to do it for the past few months.
  20. That was before I'd ever danced with anyone. If it happened now, I probably would've asked her like "Hey, you want to dance or anything?" But like... *sigh*
  21. Alright- I'm back. Last post I'll make for the night before writing a short speculative fiction about what Hitler might've been thinking before he killed himself. Here's the context for what I said: I just remembered a time a few months ago at a dance when I was chatting with a friend, our mutual friend's friend standing there humming the song that was playing. Me, of course, not wanting to dance at all at the time, just ignored her while feeling a bit uncomfortable. When she wouldn't leave, instincts fired on. This wasn't intentional at all... Don't worry. I wouldn't do this on purpose. Basically I started explaining to my friend this short I'd seen earlier that day about how confusing girls conversations are versus boy's conversations. I explained it in a way that made it far more awkward- Suffice it to say, she walked off soon after that and my friend was like "Bro, she wanted to dance with you." Looking back on it, I'm just facepalming.
