    Five years ago this happened old news that has nothing to do with the war He can’t do anything it a fact if he could have he would have ( that’s the biggest proof he coudnt) He was givin a blank slate after going to Cultivation he could have gone back to being a drunk or he could be better He chose to be a better man, he then went on to be one of the most honorable men in Alethkar if that’s not growth I don’t know what is He can’t do this. It is not within his power Shardbeares have a lot of power. Their among the most powerful in the kingdom (4th danh at the least) Taking away his command would only take his men And I think he doesn’t have the jurisdiction to do that. Highprince of war is a very weak title that Sadeas already ignored

    He has grown tremendously. It was artificially boosted but he still took initiative. I was saying he was very very Honorable but nobody is perfect You were saying that he’s like 50/50 which isn’t true The facts of the matter are that shard bearer are out of his reach Highprince of Information might have a better claim on that but even that woudnt get you it. Just because something is honorable doesn’t make it possible

    That’s what he was doing with a trial. That was literally the only way to hold him accountable He can’t arrest a shard bearer and Definitely not a highprince

    The point is that doing that could start a civil war that can destroy Alethkar (there’s an extreme example for you) like Frustration says he doesn’t have the power Yes he could have told them but why would he destroy his sons life for doing something that the Sadeas had coming to him. It woudnt change anything it would disrupt his stability which would cause harm. He isn’t pure Honor he is also a leader who needs to make hard decisions that may not be “honorable” Its not a black and white term there is grey there I can’t quote in an edit but what would you have Dalinar do now that he is ‘artificialy’ good it doesn’t matter how he is good just that he got there eventually and he can’t just go back to being a bad guy

    You can’t just throw nobles in jail it doesn’t work like that the repercussions could be worse than the result you would get How would he prosecute this? “ya the army that betrayed us ‘bout a few times yah them my son killed their leader” Most people would just applaud them I’m sure Elhokar was stubborn about this and he also remembered Dalinar as a drunk and a fool from an early age and leadership is a very hard thing to teach Not all things work out, it doesn’t make them not honorable And Amaram was a shard bearer and would have broken out if he had so there was no other option Dalinar was a horrible man before, he was artificially jumped to a good person There really wasn’t much he could do to make amends as everything happened 10+ years ago and he didn’t need to become a better man once he remembered So he apologized (there wasn’t anyone to make amends to unfortunately) and there wasn’t much left for him to do He cut out part of the journey but it’s far from over and of course he isn’t perfect no one is

    This was actually a pretty good idea there was ok way he could kill him or put him in jail so he strip him of all credibility and rank practically And he didn’t do anymore harm there He actually worked to the best of his ability to avoid this he coudnt just let a country fall apart so it was he most honorable thing to do He was set to stand trial Got me there It would do more harm than good to destabilize the kingdom he’s not a sky I just disagree with you here

    A good indication he still has it is that the reason he was in Kholinar ( or maybe even Roshar generally)was to get the cryptic If he did all that and then immediately broke the bond it woudnt be that important to him

    I meant as long as we have seen him Like what? It is an apology but not asking for forgiveness because he knows he doesn’t deserve he is saying he has grown that he resents what he did and he is a better man today you can read the excerpt from it it is pretty clear

    He’s trying to be a good person. An honarable person. You can’t blame him for not specifically making amends for something he didn’t remember until recently He made a huge show of apologizing for his actions by wrighting Oathbringer he could have just as easily said I don’t care but he didn’t, he promised to be a better man

    I thought the Masked Ones were the Illumination fused like the one at the Thaylen gem vault. Yes they saw one but Kaladin has never fought one I believe they had only had that one sighting of them by the time RoW started Good point

    Your missing the point of the SA It’s about growth healing and evolving. Dalinar was in a unification war and did not do anything illigel, now you will say but he still did a terrible horrible thing, Yes he did do a horrible thing but he has spent the rest of his life to make up for what he did , which does make a difference. It was Roshones right to send Tien to war and lirin did steal the spheres so there is an argument that he was justified in doing this. And Kaladin can’t just fight him for something that happened 5 years ago that meant practically nothing on the world scale for petty vengeance Elhokar was young in the first year of his rule and an idiot. But he has been trying to be better. And just because he made a mistake that he regrets doesn’t mean he is not fit to be king. Or at the very least shouldn’t be killed

    His order is never stated. Kaladin has fought 7 brands of fused and I’m pretty sure he’s never fought “those ones of masks” so he could be that 9th brand which we don’t know what surge that is. He could be progression I’m not sure if we’ve scene any of those yet although he could be a soulcasting brand. And a few others we haven’t seen but Kaladins fought
