I'd be remiss if I saw a solicitation for music and didn't recommend Collective Soul.  But also, if you need J-rock recs...

Good Part and Record Player (and all AJR) are awesome
although Record Player is actually by Daisy the Great and there is just a version of the song that they did with AJR.

Sheesh! is pretty funny (if it's the same song I'm thinking of) and its a bop too
