Best-case scenario, Illwei and Matrim are two elims and Szeth is innocent. But if that was the case, Szeth would seem to be the logical choice, because they've been mostly inactive and the village would be more likely to vote them out, leaving the two of them to vote out anybody. Szeth votes me, then my guess is that all three of them are elims and the game's pretty much over, unless the secret role comes into play somehow. Then again, I guess Illwei or Matrim could be a villager just guessing. All I know for sure is that I'm village and as long as I'm alive, the village lives. @Matrim's Dice, have you had a chance to look over the thread? You speculated about Szeth and then voted me. Is this a serious vote? So are you theorizing a Summer-Matrim/Szeth team? Right now I'm feeling like voting Matrim, but that's liable to change.

I completely agree that bussing is more likely now. I do think it's really unlikely that a member of the elim team would be the deciding vote on an elim, like I was or how you put Ash into the tie C1. That could have been part of some kind of plan, but you feel safe to me. Then again, I'm pretty sure you usually fool me when you're an elim anyway. So we know that there's at least one elim left. Since both sides have to kill off everyone and I know that I'm village and the elims need to vote me out, it's possible that all 4 of you could be elims... But if that's the case then why would Archer vote on me? For some last minute dramatic switch? That wouldn't be necessary. So I'm guessing there's a max of three elims left. But if that's true, then we've already lost, unless someone fails to vote. Now that Matrim is in for Summer (welcome to the game!), it's likely that everyone will vote this round. If there's 1 or 2 elims left, then we still have a chance. I'm suspicious of Illwei for voting on me. Could be that she's expecting her 2 elim buddies to join her and knock me out. Wait... What if the role is some kind where you can manipulate ties?? Maybe they're not decised randomly and the elims can actually choose who dies. That would solve a 1v1 scenario at the end of the game, and it could free up Szeth and Illwei to put Ash in a tie... But only after Illwei made sure no one would add a vote to get Ash out! Idk how feasible that is, and I'm not sure if I'm comfortable voting just on that. But it seems plausible. I'll think it through and add a vote later.

Oof, okay, I forgot to jump on here yesterday. Oops. So things have been super quiet, but I'm going to look through the old thread and see what I can find on everyone and just do a reads list here. I'm tagging everyone to hopefully get some more activity here. I'm not super confident in any of these reads, but I guess reasonably so. @Illwei - Village (Illwei put Ash into the C1 tie, and it seems verrry unlikely that she would risk that if she was Ash's teammate) @Archer - Soft Village (He voted Ash out with me. His vote was on for a while, though, so it's possible he didn't have time to come back and change it, but he's fairly active so I don't see him not moving his vote to save Ash somehow. It wouldn't look too suspicious.) @Szeth_Pancakes - Soft Village (Szeth had a vote on Ash for the C1 tie too, and Ash also voted for them with pretty thought-out reasoning, possibly hoping to get a train on them.) @SummerSomner - Soft Elim (Summer has only posted 3 times I think? 2 of those were in response to someone tagging/voting for them. The other time was when they voted for Archer when Ash was up for the exe.) @Kings_way - Elim (Kings_way came on at the start of C2 and said that everyone should vote but didn't vote at all that turn. They also defended Ash indirectly when Archer sussed Ash, saying that they didn't think someone being nice in PMs was a reason to suspect them.) We know there's at least one elim left, but since multiple elims could have the role (whatever the heck it is), the elim team could be pretty small. Maybe the original one was only 2-3 people. Either way, we're down to 6 people total. Thoughts, anyone? Kings_way

Dang. You two are both right, I hadn't read that deeply into it. It's also possible that someone who isn't an elim has it, since we don't know what the role is. It seems more likely that they could be something for all the elims. If that's the case, maybe we have an even smaller elim team. Like 2-3? Based on Szeth voting for Ash C1 and bringing up the idea, I'm willing to clear them. And Archer, you're my top clear at the moment, so I'll follow you on this. It worked once, right? Bussing when there was one vote on Ash? It's to the elim's advantage to drag things out and delay the deaths of their own members. I feel like the elims are laying low and trying to get us to vote each other off. And the rules explicitly state that there is only one role and that everyone else will be role-less. It's possible that the role could pass from one person to another somehow, but we don't know about that. It's weird that you would say this... Me no like this post. I might switch my vote to Szeth when I'm not on mobile.

I mean, at least you have a reason, but I'm the reason Ash (an elim) got voted out. I could have easily put a vote on anyone else without arousing suspicion, so why would I vote out a teammate (and the special role)? Plus only 3 people voted on Azmine. If there were four, maybe you could make the assumption in #3... but it seems like a long shot. Plus, my GM PM says village too. @SummerSomner Summer, what's up? Is your first game an elim game?

Since Szeth posted, I'll take my vote off of them. Honestly, I think Summer is my biggest suspicion right now, but it's more gut-based than on facts. Maybe their posts are just throwing me off. What's your reason for voting on Azmine this round, @Archer?

It's crazy that it only took me 15 minutes to reread everything. I like it So it seemed like Ash was pretty heavy on the Bloodsealer thing, which could have been an intentional mislead, but I'm inclined to think that the special role really is a Bloodsealer/necromancy role, and this comment on the rule change makes me think that the role is still in play. Basically I think Ash had the ability to revive a teammate (or something). Idk. The more I think about it the more it doesn't seem to make sense--if we voted someone off and found out they were an elim, wouldn't we just vote them off again? Either way, it sounds like the special role is still going to be in play somehow. Archer and Illwei seem pretty clear to me. Archer cuz they voted on Ash. Illwei's more of a gut after rereading the last two cycles. Ash's vote on Szeth could have been distancing, but Ash wasn't on the chopping block at that point so it seems unlikely that they would add another teammate to the multi-way tie. Unless they planned to redirect to protect Ash... which didn't pan out. I'm not really sure what to think. The elims didn't appear to try and protect Ash, their special role. My thought is that they're either less active or worried about drawing attention. This is only your second post, and the reason for your vote isn't very solid... but also seems to weird for an elim. I don't knoooow. @Szeth_Pancakes Szeth, where you at?

Goodness, there really isn't a lot to go on. This is the quietest game I've been in. I'll probably come back on in a bit to vote if there's more activity, but I'm not really sure what to think. Archer/Ash both have some good points, and this at least seems to confirm for me that they aren't e/e. Current VC is 1 for Ashbringer (Archer)

Idk, wouldn't someone who actually had the role want to lay low, thinking you're an elim trying to draw them out? Obviously I don't know exactly what Dannex said, but asking a lot of clarifying questions would seem more village to me. Archer could be an elim that's trying to draw out the special role. I'm inclined to trust him, but I do think that's a possibility.

I didn't think I was jumping on you? I just don't think forgetting part of the rules is AI. An elim, especially one who's used to having a kill, can easily forget they don't have one in this game. And you saying she townslipped wasn't what made me suspicious, it was that you seemed so confident about clearing her. It felt kinda like a pocket to me. I don't understand why this being a vanilla game makes it so unlikely for the secret role to be village. The role could be practically anything, like a vote manip, a healer, or someone with an extra kill. Those kinds of things could be village and could be reasons why both sides have to kill everyone. "Denying Striker a village read" is an interesting way of saying opening you up for suspicion. And you've definitely played more than I have, so you know what's normal, but since you know it's not normal for experienced players like yourself to fake townslip, that would be a great way to throw people off, so to me, it's NAI. Overall, what I guess I'm trying to say is I don't think what Illwei said is a townslip at all. Forgetting parts of the game, especially at the beginning, is NAI to me.

Wowwww that makes a lot of sense. It would also explain why both sides have to be completely voted out. Illwei did explain herself later but I would've hesitated to clear her based on seemingly forgetting that elims don't have a kill. That's something that could easily be faked, which makes me a little sus of you. Illwei's whole explanation makes sense to me. I'm still inclined to overestimate the number of elims, but idk. I hesitate to assume what the special role could be, but I'm inclined to think Dannex's idea of a Jester role makes a lot of sense. Making each side completely vote the other off would give a jester more timw and opportunities to make themself look sus. I'm not sure tho, and now I'm going to be nervous about voting the rest of the game. XD As a side note, rollover is at midnight my time so don't be surprised if it takes me a while to get in thread each cycle.

Does anyone know when the mass market paperback version of Rhythm of War will be released? I'm one of those booknerds who wants their books to match, but I also really want to read it!

2 hours till rollover and I finally have time to catch up on things. We're kinda past the how-many-elims discussion, but I agree that there's 3-4 elims. While I think organizing PMs is a fun idea, I think it gives the elims too much information. But I still don't know who to pick anyway, so idk. I think the thing that concerns me the most is the everybody-dies-in-a-tie thing. Because of that, I agree with everyone who's said that we need to announce votes in-thread. Obviously that's not official, but still. Communication! So at least to create a larger vote-margin: The Unknown Order

Eeeek I'm so excited for this game! I have a big presentation in my class tonight so I'll be devoting more time to this after that. Until then, hello! I exist! I think 3-4 elims and prefer to overestimate.

As a side note, I'm still looking over the Striker mentions in previous threads, and Quinn was pushing for us to leave him and Archer to be NK'd (which did happen to Striker), so her pushing that strategy wasn't Mat-specific.
