QF76: Cycle 2 - Justice is Blind Skybreaker Uranihran didn’t like special cases. Special cases were exemptions. They were unfair. But the Skybreaker was not in the authority to decide what was fair and what was not. The law was to decide that. He floated in towards the group. They were in the exact same spot as they had met, on the rocky shores of the Purelake. “We have decided that ThatOneWorldhopper is guilty,” Wishikk Makar said softly. "His character was too ambiguous for us." Uranihran nodded. “Tell me, what is your task?” “To find and eliminate the criminals within our group.” The hopeful said. “However, I have concerns. What is the purpose of this? Why are you forcing us to play your game?” “I think you will appreciate this experience, hopeful,” the full Skybreaker said, “When you become a Skybreaker.” “But why make us play this… game? Talk during the day and be forced to declare one player to die each morning?” “This is not a game. It is a task.” Uranihran said softly. “Seth. The one here because of a clerical error. Where are they? Have they run off?” Even with his soothing voice, there was a malicious spark that was lit within Uranihran. These hopefuls believed they had seen the law. No, they had merely seen its ideal form. There was another form of the law. Consequences. He knew exactly what was happening. He could even stop it. He would be praised for his ability to aid the law, and he would’ve done his duty. However, then what of the hopefuls? To advance a journey, the hopefuls would need to be vouched for by a full Skybreaker. What was there to vouch for if Uranihran did everything himself? “He isn’t here, is he?” The Skybreaker asked. “You have now seen the consequence of failure. There is a reason why public order requires these people to be removed from society.” “You know where Seth is?” Wishikk Makar asked. The Skybreaker glared at the hopeful. “This is the consequence of your actions. One of these consequences is the lack of knowledge. In this world, nothing can ever be certain when criminals run free. Justice is blind. You will not gain knowledge from the law, only order.” “One casualty. One person who you may never see again. The only one so far, as a result of your untimeliness. This is your first lesson. ThatOneWorldhopper, please step forward.” Uranihran lashed the person far into the sky. “ThatOneWorldHopper will no longer impede your quest for justice. Continue. I believe there are still criminals in your group.” ~ ThatOneWorldhopper was a Justice Seeker Protector! The Unknown Order was a Justice Seeker Thinker! Cycle 2 has begun! QF76: Cycle 1 - Special Cases Skybreaker Uranihran didn’t like special cases. Special cases were exemptions, false and unfair applications of the law. But he didn’t disagree with orders, no. And he wasn’t to decide what was fair and what wasn’t. But this was a special case, this group of hopefuls. He watched from above as the group of hopefuls approached the Purelake. Some had never seen the lake. Others seemed more familiar with its abnormal appearance. Uranihran always watched every group approach the lake. It was a bit of a tradition. Uranihran jumped from the rocky outcrop he was crouched on, lashing himself upwards to lighten the fall. He approached the group. “Hopefuls. You have come here to participate in one of my missions, to potentially gain my favor in advancing you in your pursuit of radiance.” “However,” he continued in Azish, “This task is not one of mine. This task is one of yours. No interference will be made by me at any point in any of this.” “You have not reached the point at which you are pardoned.” Uranihran spoke softly, clasping his hands in front of him. “I have done investigations into all of you. Your history, your name, your record. Your secrets.” He met the eyes of each of the hopefuls. They did not hide their fear. That would have to change. “Becoming a Skybreaker requires more than just a few words. It requires lessons.” “This task is simple. There are lawbreakers amongst you. You must find them and punish them. Do so, and your journey to becoming a Skybreaker shall advance. You will have a chance to speak the words, to finally join us in the skies.” A pause was added for effect. “One of the lessons that you will need to learn as a Skybreaker is one of consequence. If you fail to find all of the evildoers, all of the lawbreakers within your group, they will be let free." There was silence. Finally, a hopeful spoke up. “Skybreaker, do you not punish those who have broken the law? How is releasing known criminals following the law?” “This is a question of natural consequence. When law enforcement fails to find a criminal, does that make the law enforcer responsible for their crimes? No. You will not be legally accountable. Neither will I.” “If you know who the evildoers are, then why haven’t you dealt with them?” Uranihran did not waver. “They are not my responsibility. They are yours.” The Skybreaker lashed himself upwards to prevent any more backtalk. Soon, they would begin discussing, and in the morning, they would pronounce the person they believed to be guilty. Then, the lessons would start. ~ Cycle 1 has begun! It will end on August 7th, at 9:00 PM ET. PMs are Closed. Rules can be found here. There is an execution today! Vote in red, unvote in green. You should all have received your GM PM by now. If you haven't, please let me know. Player List: -

Quick Fix 76: Judgement on the Shores of the Purelake
Aeoryi replied to Aeoryi's topic in Sanderson Elimination
I'll update the rules to make this more clear, but the factional kill always has to be "carried" by a member of the Evildoers. If that player carrying the factional kill is Roleblocked, the kill fails. Other things I might as well clarify: Charges still are used if a role attempts to use an action and it fails. Charges still are used if a role attempts to use an action and it fails. Order of Operations is: Murderer, Liar, Thief/Leader, Conspirator, Protector, Thinker, Mastermind, All deaths. Every role is capable of self targeting except for Protectors.- 392 replies

Quick Fix 76: Judgement on the Shores of the Purelake
Aeoryi replied to Aeoryi's topic in Sanderson Elimination
If the Murderer uses their ability, the kill will be unable to be Roleblocked or Protected, meaning that it will always kill its target. For this to happen, they have to "carry" the factional kill (meaning if they are targeted by the Thinker, they will be seen targeting the player who was killed). Long story short, murderer ability makes the factional kill always succeed at the cost of them having to be functionally using the night kill as an action.- 392 replies

Yes, visit and target are interchangeable. It's just to help with the Tom targets Tim targeted Timmy to track that target talk. Functionally, they both mean the same thing.- 392 replies

Quick Fix 76: Judgement on the Shores of the Purelake
Aeoryi posted a topic in Sanderson Elimination
QF76 - Judgement on the Shores of the Purelake Hello! Welcome! You and your companions have been selected to become Skybreakers at the Purelake, although your first task awaits you. The Skybreakers have done serious background investigation into all of you and they have found that some of you are guilty of assorted crimes, some minor, some more serious than others. Your first task is simple: can you find those who hide from the eyes of the law, and will you deliver justice? ~ I’m Aeoryi, and I’ll be your GM for this game. @Araris Valerian will be your IM. This game is scheduled to start on Wednesday, August 6th 9:00 PM ET. Cycles are 24 hours in length, so rollovers happen at 9:00 PM ET. The game requires at least eight players to run. It's true, I was the chaos gremlin Elims did really well this game. I'm washed. Congratulations to elims, and it was great to play here again.
-
Who tried to save you then? Who's the third? But why? If Doc and I were elims, what do we gain by exe'ing you- Doc and myself were not at risk at all during d1. You're suggesting that the elim team would make Sophisticated plays for no reason at all. You haven't thought this through at all. Return to the game when you have reconsidered the Because they were in contact with you? Explain? I'm confused. I'm going to make the verdict that you are currently blinded by your emotions. That is not inherently terrible, however that state of mind does not make for convincing arguments. Edit: Okay, I might've been too harsh, but you can see the point I'm making- you're pushing this highly implausible world which *could* be possible but in reality still doesn't make sense. Elim teams don't actively decide, "hey, it's time to push ThatOneWorldhopper today" when the only players being voted on are town. Does that make sense?
-
Soothe here really just means we have a chaos gremlin with the Soother role I really don't see why there's a reason to tie three players unless the elims were unable to change their actions to adapt to the dayend in which case we can probably clear a lot of people. But it could also be a villager who had the same thing happen. That's my assessment.
-
Have they? I want to argue they haven't really.

Must we exe TJ d1 what sourge has been inflicted upon the village now Hopefully TJ can show up, but I kinda feel bad now.
-
You should probably evaluate where your biases lie, we encourage equity at this Hyena's house. There's reasons for me to withhold my vote. There's no reason to act so jumpy
