"Yes. Luck, Fate, Chance." Violette looked for something to draw a diagram with, but couldn't find anything. "Chance is the easiest to understand. In order for anything to happen, there has to be chance. It is a nature of the universe."
She pulled out a coin from her pocket, the same one that the wish granter flipped earlier. "Luck is the next easiest to understand. It is the aspect that plays into chance. In a way, everything is determined by luck and chance alone. Obviously, they are not unique to coins."
She held out the coin in front of the dragon, with the silvery object sitting between her forefinger and her thumb. "Fate is the one that makes a difference. Fate is the willingness to put everything on the line. To trust the mechanisms of luck and chance and accept the outcome."
"You can flip coins all you want, but there is nothing on the line for you, and there is nothing for you to gain." With a flick of her thumb, the coin was launched into the air, spinning and shimmering as it flipped. She held it out her palm to catch the coin. She pocketed it. "You have nothing to offer, so the gods ignore you. Hence why coins are useless to you."
